His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday attended the endurance race competitions at Windsor Great Park, United Kingdom, an event annually sponsored by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The prestigious event was held in the presence of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, alongside a number of British equestrian enthusiasts.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was warmly welcomed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Commander of the Royal Endurance Team; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club.
HM King met with endurance riders from both Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, expressing his pride in their participation and performance.
King Hamad praised HH Shaikh Nasser's leadership in advancing endurance racing and commended the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation for promoting the sport and representing Bahrain internationally. HM highlighted Bahraini riders' global success as proof of their skill and dedication in raising Bahrain's sporting profile.
Following the race, HM King hosted a luncheon in honour of guests and invitees.
His Majesty is currently in the UK for the Royal Windsor Horse Show. HM was officially welcomed by Lord Claude Moraes, representative of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as Bahrain's Ambassador to the UK, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and members of the embassy.
King Hamad is accompanied on this visit by his sons and an official delegation. Australia, Bahrain, Czech Republic, Spain, France, India, Qatar, Sweden, UAE and Uruguay were represented on the start line, along with 12 British riders as the event kicked off.

It currently hosts 195 training programs and provides 5,500 diverse opportunities across key sectors. During the visit, His Majesty toured the city's five core centers: He also explored the Youth Market, a vibrant space showcasing innovative projects and entrepreneurial ventures led by Bahraini youth, reflecting their creativity and drive. The visit concluded with a group photograph of His Majesty alongside the organizers and team members of Youth City 2030, in recognition of their dedication and outstanding contributions to this national initiative.

During a visit to the city, he emphasized that the initiative reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the national strategy led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to equip the next generation with the skills and mindset needed to lead the future. Accompanied by Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayed, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser said the youth are Bahrain's most valuable asset and investing in their talents is the surest path to a prosperous and sustainable future. "Through advanced training and access to modern knowledge, we're opening doors for young people to actively shape the country's progress," he said. "City of Youth 2030 has consistently delivered high-impact programs that have turned it into a leading regional hub for youth development." HH Shaikh Nasser added, "This city has become a model in creating meaningful opportunities for the youth. It's inspiring to see the passion and innovation coming out of this space. The enthusiasm and wide participation we've witnessed today confirms the importance of continuing this initiative with the same high standards.' During the visit, he toured the city's five main training centers: Science & Technology, Arts & Culture, Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Media & Entertainment, and Sports & Health. Together, they offer over 5,500 training opportunities across 195 specialized programs, 84 entrepreneurial projects, and 150 additional events — all managed by 248 young Bahraini volunteers. HH Shaikh Nasser commended the professionalism and energy of the youth volunteers and trainers, highlighting how their dedication is building a stronger, more confident generation ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

This follows a serious traffic accident he recently suffered. This generous directive reflects His Highness's compassionate approach in supporting and caring for the nation's youth, especially athletes. It also highlights his keen interest in monitoring their well-being and addressing their health and social needs, in recognition of their valuable contributions to Bahraini sports.
