Police official Faisal Kamran said the woman and her children, aged five and seven, suffered injuries to their faces and arms on Wednesday night when the lion broke free from its cage.
According to a police report, the children's father claimed the lion's owners stood by and watched as the animal clawed his family, without trying to stop it. The lion later returned to the owners' farmhouse and was moved to a wildlife park, police said.
In Pakistan, keeping exotic animals like lions is seen as a status symbol among some wealthy people, despite strict laws and high costs associated with ownership.
Meanwhile, in Turkey, another lion escaped from a theme park near the resort city of Antalya and was shot dead on Sunday after attacking a man, according to the local governor and media reports.
The lion, reportedly named Zeus, got out of its enclosure at the Land of Lions theme park in Manavgat, about 65 kilometres east of Antalya, early on Sunday morning.
Turkish newspaper BirGün reported that the lion attacked an agricultural worker named Suleiman Kir, who was sleeping in a pistachio field with his wife. Kir fought the lion off before it ran away. He was injured but not seriously and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In a major breakthrough in the robbery reported from a goldsmith's shop in the thickly populated Saraf Bazaar area 10 days ago, the police have arrested three members of an inter-State gang and recovered 2.865 kg of gold worth ₹2.10 crore and ₹4.80 in cash from them. The arrested men are mastermind Farooq Ahmad Malik, Ayodhya Prasad Chavan and Sohail Shaikh. Farooq Malik is a native of Dadpur in Hooghly district of West Bengal. He has been residing in Kalaburagi for the past few years working as a goldsmith. Before shifting to Karnataka, he worked in a jewellery showroom in Dubai and specialized in designer Turkish jewellery. Accused Ayodhya Prasad Chavan hails from Kansona village in North 24 Paraganss district of West Bengal. He was in clothes business in Mumbai for the last 15 years. He has a track record of 17 robbery cases. Accused Sohail Shaikh is a tailor from Patra Chawl in Mumbai. He is also wanted in two robbery cases. Police Commissioner Sharanappa S. Dhage, addressing presspersons here on Monday, shared details of the accused and how they committed the robbery. Farooq, who suffered a loss in business, hatched a conspiracy with Ayodhya Prasad and invited him to be a part of the heist. Further, Ayodhya Prasad involved his accomplice Sohail Shaikh in the crime and they traveled all the way from Mumbai to Kalaburagi to join Farooq in the heist. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused hatched the plan 25 days before the crime which was put into motion on July 11 at 12.15 p.m. when the group of masked and armed individuals, wielding a toy gun and knives barged into the goldsmith's workshop and looted gold jewellery. Dr. Dhage said that five teams were formed to arrest the accused. These teams visited several districts in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal in the last 10 days. Two of the accused were arrested from West Bengal and the third one from Mumbai, while two other accused are absconding, he said. He, however, refused to reveal how the police got initial leads that helped them reach the accused. The owner of Malik Jewellers, where the heist happened, Sibghatullah Malik, hails from Prasadpur village in Hooghly district of West Bengal. Interestingly, both the victim and the main accused are in goldsmithy business and they are native of Hooghly district in West Bengal. Responding to a query, Dr. Dhage said that the victim initially spoke of being robbed of 2 kg to 3 kg of gold, but in the complaint he has mentioned that only 850 grams of gold was lost in the robbery. He may be holding unaccounted for gold. The police will inquire into this matter with him, the officer added.

Delhi HC reserves order on Celebi's plea over revoked security clearance

The Delhi high court on Friday reserved its order on a plea filed by another Turkish-based Celebi company, namely Celebi Ground Handling India Private Limited, against Centre's decision to revoke its security clearance. A different bench of the high court on July 7 dismissed the pleas by Turkish-based firms -- Celebi Airport Services India Pvt Ltd and Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India Pvt Ltd -- challenging the revocation of their security clearance by aviation watchdog Bureau of Civil Aviation Safety (BCAS) on May 15, saying there are "compelling national security considerations" involved. Justice Tejas Karia on Friday reserved the order after company's lawyer submitted that the petition was filed on July 4 after a coordinate bench reserved its judgement in a similar case involving the associated companies. The counsel said on Friday that the July 7 verdict directly applied to the present case as well, and urged the judge to pass a similar order. BCAS revoked the security clearance, days after Turkey backed Pakistan and condemned India's strikes on terror camps in the neighbouring country. The court on July 7 underlined the necessity to eliminate the possibility of espionage or dual use of logistics capabilities which would be highly detrimental to the security of the country, especially in the event of an external conflict.
