THE only desert in Europe is found in Spain - and Wild West fans are likely to recognise it.
Tabernas looks more like something from Arizona but is actually found in Almeria in Spain.

And it claims to be Europe's only desert in Europe with less than 250mm of rain every year.
Within the 280kmsq desert are three mountain ranges - Filabres, Alhamilla and Sierra.
While the average temperature is around 18C, it can hit the 40s in the peak of summer (although one of the highest temperatures hit 52C).
Further adding to its claim of being a desert, it also has desert badlands which is an extremely dry terrain with soft rocks and clay soils.
The best way to see the Tabernas is on a guided tour, as driving directly through them unaccompanied is banned.
This ranges from 4x4 tours, or horse riding tours.
And since the 1950s, a number of Wild West movies have been filmed there, with three main studios designed to look like cowboy towns.
Fort Bravo Texas Hollywood, Mini Hollywood Oasys and Western Leone are the ones still in operation, with many others no abandoned.
Non-western TV series including Doctor Who, Games of Thrones and Black Mirror have all filmed there as well.
This led to it being called the Hollywood of Europe (not to be confused with Ouarzazate, called the Hollywood of Morocco).

Oasys MiniHollywood has since become a theme park that has a splash park and live shows, with plans to add a hotel as well.
However, the era of western movies is starting to die off.
Cowgirl guide Sara González told National Geographic: "Tourists used to come for the western movie sets, but these days, I have to explain the concept of spaghetti western movies to most of our customers."
Despite this, they still lean into their western history, with a festival every October dedicated to Westerns.
But it is easy to get to, with easyJet flights from London to Almeria.
The UK even has its own 'desert' although falls slightly short of being an official one due to the volume of rainfall.
Yet Dungeness is still called Britain's Only Desert, with one million tourists visiting a year.
Some people have said it feels like a "forgotten film set".
And here is how to do a camping holiday in the Moroccan desert.

Paige, who has four million followers on Instagram, had a short but sweet role in the movie as an attendant at a golf simulator trying to help Sandler's character reclaim his love of golf - only for him to break a simulator. The 32-year-old said: "It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. "I got to shoot my scene with Adam Sandler and he is one of the most genuine, funny, kind, humble human beings. "You forget that he is Adam Sandler. He just is so amazing... I can't say enough good things about him. "And then the amount of people it takes to make this happen, it was really cool to see the behind the scenes and to see the final product. "We were on set for hours and my scene - if you blink you'll miss it - so the amount of time and effort and care that goes into creating these movies that we all love, it was really, really cool to see." Paige was present at the red carpet premiere of the event in New York in July. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK There she threatened to steal the show in a figure-hugging red dress. My autistic son ran off at airport and boarded easyJet flight to WRONG country – despite not having ticket or passport
The agitated boy was met by police and medics, taken to hospital and sedated HOLS HELL My autistic son ran off at airport and boarded easyJet flight to WRONG country – despite not having ticket or passport Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MUM told of her nightmare yesterday after her son ran off at an airport before boarding a plane to the wrong country. Fiona Robinson, 48, was buying souvenirs ahead of a flight from Minorca to Stansted when Ruben, 14, had an autism episode. 6 Fiona Robinson told of her nightmare after her son Ruben ran off at an airport before boarding a plane to the wrong country 6 Ruben got on an easyJet plane flying to Milan from Minorca on Monday with no ticket or passport 6 Relieved Fiona said: 'You think stuff like this can only happen in the movies' Incredibly, with no ticket or passport, he got on an easyJet plane flying to Milan at 9.25am on Monday. On landing in the Italian city, agitated Ruben was met by police and medics, taken to hospital and sedated. Fiona flew to Barcelona, then Milan, and yesterday the reunited pair travelled home to Kettering, Northants. Relieved Fiona said: 'You think stuff like this can only happen in the movies. 'It's been a nightmare. He has severe autism, he won't have had a clue what was happening to him. I'm just glad he's safe and sound. 'Ruben had lost his ear defenders on holiday and was getting stressed, so I told him we'd go soon. There was a big queue in duty free. Ruben said, 'Mum, I'm gonna go', then he was gone.' He was gone for four hours before security and police realised he was airside, and plane crew confirmed he was aboard. Mum-of-three Fiona, who has mobility issues after a knee op, said the week abroad was their first trip since Covid, adding: 'Ruben deserved a holiday but next time we'll stay in the UK.' She is 'upset and angry' at easyJet, which is investigating. The airline said: 'Our team and the authorities met the passenger in Milan and we provided arrangements for a family member to meet them. 'We remain in touch to offer our support.'
