Tourist who shipped her clothes straight to her hotel to avoid hassle with luggage suffers devastating mishap
Meg DeAngelis, from New York, recently took to TikTok with a video that unraveled the unfortunate error.
In the clip, the content creator could be seen standing at the front desk of the hotel asking the concierge about her deliveries.
The text over her video read: 'When you think you're being smart by shipping your clothes to the hotel so you don't have to carry a giant suitcase.'
'Did you have packages shipped here? It should have been two,' Meg said at the start of the video.
The concierge said the hotel does indeed receive packages but he had some bad news for Meg about her own shipment.
'We had to return those because they weren't for a guest that we had,' he mumbled.
Meg's friend gasped in horror before she started to explain the situation further to the hotel worker.
'Wait, I called and said, "Is it okay that I'm not a guest?" And they said, "It's okay you're not a guest," and I verified by saying "My name isn't on the room,"' the stressed influencer shared.
'What do you mean return them?' she asked, to which the hotel employee responded, 'The UPS had to take them back.'
Meg buried her head in her hands before continuing: 'That's why I called, and I was like, "Hey, should I put it under the person who has the room?"
'And they said, "No, because you need your ID to pick it up."
'So I was like, "Oh, it's okay they're not staying there and I'm not listed?" and they were like, "Yeah, just make sure you have your ID."
'This would have been two or three days ago.'
She asked where her packages were going, and the worker said he 'guessed' they would have been returned to the postal distribution center.
The chaotic misunderstanding captured in the video quickly amassed more than nine million views and 2,000 comments.
Many people argued that the hotel was in the wrong and offered her words of support.
'They were in the wrong, but PLEASE never do this. It's always a mess,' someone wrote.
'Asking beforehand and then being slapped in the face is my biggest pet peeve omg,' another person said.
'Bruh, when employees don't communicate with their manager or with each other, this is what happens,' one comment read.
'As a hotel worker, that's crazy,' a user wrote.
'I work at a hotel and they are so in the wrong for this. I hope they offered you compensation for the HUGE inconvenience,' another worker said.
'The hotel is very unprofessional for this. I'm sure somebody didn't do their job and forgot to log a trace for this package, or one of the workers took the package,' a user considered.
'Yea, 100 per cent hotel is wrong. They need to offer you some major discounts or refund your stay because now you have to spend money to buy all new clothes and s**t,' a person demanded.
Another penned: 'This is so frustrating. I'm sorry Meg.'
In a follow-up video about the mishap, Meg called UPS customer service and was told her clothes would be delivered on July 7.

This novel's vibe is Bret Easton Ellis meets Donnie Darko
Michael Clune's coming-of-age novel is narrated by a chronically anxious teenager called Nick, who hangs out in a rural barn where a group of loosely connected young people get high. The barn is owned by the rich family of two brothers, Tod and Ian, the latter of whom has taken so many drugs 'the dude is drugs'. Once upon a time, that might have served as a description of Clune. The American writer is best known for his addiction memoir, White Out (2013), which drew the praise of fashionable authors such as Ben Lerner, Lauren Groff and Maggie Nelson. Indeed, his account of his heroin years was so lyrical that one critic wondered if it actually made the case for taking smack. 'Dope never gets old for addicts,' Clune wrote. 'It never looks old. It never looks like something I've seen before. It always looks like nothing I've ever seen.'

ESPN anchor Jay Harris makes emotional return after devastating cancer battle
After revealing a shocking cancer diagnosis back in June, a popular ESPN anchor has made his return to television - and received a warm welcome from his colleagues. Jay Harris, who has been with the company for over two decades, made his return to the 'SportsCenter' desk on Saturday. Harris recently underwent surgery for prostate cancer last month, which was a successful procedure. In his first episode back, Harris was welcomed by 'Inside the NBA ' star Charles Barkley, who left a video message for him. Harris' co-host Brian Custer also welcomed the veteran broadcaster with a dap up on the desk. Custer reportedly served as a major help to Harris after undergoing a similar procedure. 'So glad to be back!! Appreciate all the well wishes!!!' Harris, 60, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Charles Barkley and @BCusterTV welcomed back @JayHarrisESPN to SportsCenter for his first show since his successful prostate cancer surgery ❤️ — SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) July 12, 2025 Toward the end of June, Harris provided a positive update on his condition. 'My doctor said the surgery went really well – so well, in fact, that the cancer that was in my prostate stayed there,' the 60-year-old married father said in a self-shot social media video. 'Didn't spread to any surrounding areas. So when he took the prostate out, he took that with it. So it's all good. 'There are other details that I won't bore you with. The main thing is, we're all good and looking forward to July 12, getting back to SportsCenter, getting back to work. 'Just home, resting up, chilling,' he continued. 'Appreciate the prayers and the thoughts and the messages and the calls and the deliveries. Thank you so much. Appreciate all the love and I will holler.' Harris has worked for ESPN since 2003 and has become one of the most recognizable faces on the network since his debut - having hosted 'SportsCenter' as well as 'Outside the Lines', 'NFL Live', 'Baseball Tonight', and 'First Take' in the past.

Fans rejoice as beloved Friends actor, 32, makes a surprising comeback
He once starred in one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time but Cole Sprouse, 32, has come a long way from his days on the Friends set. The former child star, who portrayed Ross Geller's son Ben in seven episodes of the beloved series, is now best known for his lead role in Netflix 's Riverdale. But it's another project that has fans rejoicing once again this week. Sprouse's side hustle is running a chaotic, cult-favorite Instagram account called @camera_duels, where he posts candid snaps of fans who try to secretly photograph him in public by snapping a photo of them back. The account became a viral sensation a couple of years ago but in June 2023 Sprouse stopped posting to it. 'It started because I was pissed off,' Cole previously told Wonderland magazine. 'I try to approach a lot of the strange trappings of celebrity and the culture with comedy… the actions and feelings and vibes that people put off when they're about to do something like that is so obvious and comical that it begs a duel.' The account was originally meant to shame people who tried to sneak photos without asking. But it has ironically turned into a bucket list item for fans with many admitting they now try to stage a stealth photo just to be featured. 'That was an oversight on my behalf,' Cole admitted. 'I should have seen that coming!' Now Sprouse is back posting to his Instagram. Last week he shared a rambling yet poetic takedown of a father in a Speedo snapping a photo of him at the beach. The caption included everything from commentary on the surveillance state to the unfortunate visibility of 'a 50+ shivering meatus' behind thin swimwear. Fans couldn't get enough and the post left followers fangirling over him. His account now boasts over 4.6million followers, with each post bombarded with fan messages. Sprouse played Ben for just seven episodes between 2000 and 2002 but suddenly disappeared from Friends without explanation. The real reason was because his character was written out as the show to focus more on Ross' relationship with Rachel and later, their daughter Emma. Still, despite his brief time on the show, the Friends fans have not let go. Fans have speculated that Ross may have lost custody of Ben off-screen, due to his increasingly erratic behavior. Sprouse himself has even joked about the theory, agreeing that Ross 'wasn't the most present father' during a previous GQ interview. In 2015, a Reddit user named D.F. Lovett hypothesized that Cole's character still existed but that Ross lost custody of him. 'Friends was on for ten seasons, but Ben doesn't show up in person after episode 12 of season eight,' the Reddit user posted. The post continued: 'He's only mentioned six times in the remaining 54 episodes after his last appearance. 'People like to give Ross the benefit of the doubt, wondering if perhaps he was a better father off-screen. Perhaps his children met but the audience never saw. 'The more likely answer is that he was such a deadbeat father that he completely faded away from his son's life, pretending to his family and so-called friends that he still saw a boy he barely knew.' Sprouse has also previously shared details of his time on set and admitted he had a major crush on Jennifer Aniston while filming Friends at just eight years old. 'I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her', he confessed to the New York Post. 'I was infatuated. I was speechless. I'd get all bubbly and forget my lines and go completely blank. It was difficult.' The role on Friends was Cole's first acting job where he starred without his twin brother, Dylan, because the sitcom didn't require both twins. Sprouse went on to star on Disney's The Suite Life of Zach and Cody with his brother before landing a role as Jughead in Riverdale after graduating from college. Sprouse said fans still regularly recognize him as Ben from Friends. 'Because Friends is on Netflix, there's renewed interest,' he explained in an interview with Marie Claire in 2022. 'People can call me 'Ben' on the street and I will turn around.'
