Aaron Rodgers hosts DK Metcalf, Steelers teammates for Malibu workout
Aaron Rodgers didn't sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers until June 7. The 41-year-old is doing his best to make up for lost time by hosting some of his teammates for offseason workouts in Malibu, California. Rodgers revealed the workout in a photo shared to his Instagram on Wednesday. The new Steelers quarterback was joined by many of his receiving weapons – Scotty Miller, Ben Skowronek, Pat Freiermuth, Calvin Austin, DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson – at the session. The Steelers also highlighted the workout on their social media accounts. Rodgers had dropped a hint about the Malibu workout in one of his recent appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show." He didn't say exactly who would be joining him but noted he had invited his wide receiver, tight ends and running backs to work out. "I know coming out to Malibu might not be that high on everybody's list," Rodgers told McAfee. "But we do have some guys coming out next week. So it'll be fun to spend a little time with them." The group did appear to have some fun. Notably, Skowronek posted a video of Rodgers throwing him an alley-oop off the glass to his social media accounts. Perhaps that will allow the teammates to quickly build chemistry ahead of what is a critical season for the Steelers, who haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 NFL campaign, and Rodgers, who said he is "pretty sure" this will be his last season.

The post Jets rumors: New York begins Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner contract extension talks appeared first on ClutchPoints. The New York Jets are rumored to be starting contract talks with two of their best players. Defensive back Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson are engaging with the Jets in talks. ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler says the team is looking to get new deals done soon. Advertisement 'I'm told they have had some preliminary talks, exchanged some numbers, had all that fun stuff. So they have got five to six weeks to see if they can come to an agreement before training camp,' Fowler said on ESPN. Both Gardner and Wilson are considered to be key pieces to a New York team looking for some success. It's been more than a decade since the Jets made the NFL Playoffs, and fans are starving for a postseason appearance. Both players were drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Gardner finished that rookie season as the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year. Wilson, meanwhile, won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Advertisement In 2024, Wilson posted 1,104 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Gardner, meanwhile, picked up 49 total tackles and an interception for the team's defense. Jets have a new coach, and new hopes The Jets have a new head coach in Aaron Glenn, who has a tough task in front of him. Glenn takes over a franchise that had two coaches last season, as well as a different general manager. New York also parted ways with their quarterback Aaron Rodgers following a disappointing five win season. Glenn has a new quarterback to work with in Justin Fields, who signed a free agent contract this offseason with the Jets. Fields started some games last season for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He helped lead Pittsburgh to the playoffs, after throwing for 1,106 yards. Fields also had five touchdown passes. Jets fans will love Breece Hall's ‘win now' message heading into 2025
The post Jets fans will love Breece Hall's 'win now' message heading into 2025 appeared first on ClutchPoints. The New York Jets are coming off a massively disappointing 2024 season that led to wholesale changes for the organization. The Jets moved on from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers as new head coach Aaron Glenn and first-time GM Darren Mougey were brought in to stabilize the spiraling franchise. Advertisement While there was an expectation that New York would compete for a championship with Rodgers on the roster, most NFL observers anticipate the Jets struggling in 2025 as the team enters a new era. But running back Breece Hall has a different forecast for New York this season. 'I think people think the new coaching staff and new GM means a rebuild, but we have a lot of really good players on the roster, so we're trying to win now,' Hall said, per 'And I think a lot of people from the outside are going to take that for granted and not realize that we actually have a team,' he added. Breece Hall believes the Jets are ready to compete in 2025 Brad Penner-Imagn Images Most analysts expect the Jets to finish the 2025 season with a losing record for the 10th straight year. That would make it 15 consecutive seasons without a playoff appearance. But Hall has confidence in Glenn and the new coaching staff. And, entering the final year of his rookie deal, the 24-year-old RB is looking to prove people wrong. Advertisement Hall isn't the only one expecting the unexpected from New York this year. Former NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson predicted that the Jets would win the AFC East in the hottest of hot takes. That is, obviously, unlikely given the Buffalo Bills' domination of the division and the fact that New York hasn't topped seven wins since 2015. Hall was rumored to be on the trade block prior to the NFL draft as speculation that the Jets would make him available persisted. Glenn inadvertently helped spread those rumors with statements he made praising backup rushers Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis. However, Glenn reached out to Hall and told him he had no intention of trading the fourth-year running back. While Hall attempts to deliver on the immense potential he flashed early in his career, the Jets have handed the offense over to Justin Fields, signing the fifth-year pro to a two-year, $40 million deal. The team won't have to wait long for its first major test of the 2025 season as the Jets face Rodgers and the Steelers in Week 1.
