Mirror selfies aren't recommended, instead Kitty claims the best dating profiles bring a range of vibes including smirks, laughs and pouts.
And it's important to be authentic, rather than trying to be someone you think people want.
But the most important element is to simply ensure that the photos you're using on dating profiles, are current – to avoid awkward moments when meeting in real life.
This applies whether you're on the

The star revealed their top tips after a poll of 500 adults who use online dating platforms found 45 per cent struggle to get the perfect shot of themselves.
Kitty Scott-Claus said: "There is quite a bit of pressure to get it right.
'You have even less time to make a first impression on a dating app than you do in real life, so that initial picture is all-important.'
The research also found it takes an average of 10 attempted pictures taken before people decide they're happy enough to upload one.

'While it can be tempting to choose an old photo or heavily filtered image, it's far more effective to show the real you.
'People are looking for genuine connections, and that starts with being upfront about who you are, including how you look.'

Kitty Scott-Claus' top tips for dating snaps
Refresh that throwback.
If your profile pic's older than your last situationship, it's time to update. That blurry beach snap from 2015? Cute memory but not a vibe for 2025.
Make it a moment.
Strike a pose that tells a story of who you are, give them something to ask about in the DMs. Snap your pics when you're feeling fab - whether that's fresh from a spin class or living your best life at Mighty Hoopla. Your joy is your glow-up.
Confidence is sexy.
Embrace every part of you, confidence is sexier than fantasy. Don't try to be someone you think people want; we're here for the most authentic you. Got killer arms? A dazzling smile? Show it off. Modesty is cute, but confidence is the real thirst trap.
No group gaggles.
We want a date, not a game of Guess Who. This is your moment to shine, solo.
Switch it up.
One blank stare in five mirror selfies? No ma'am it's not cute. The best dating profiles bring a range of vibes: smirks, laughs, pouts – even serious can look sexy.

'I really enjoyed playing 36 Questions to Connect with my son George, reminiscing on past experiences and sharing a few stories that we didn't know about each other. 'I didn't realise he didn't actually know what my first job was, and there's a few things I learnt about him too.' The poll of 2,000 adults found just 29 per cent know who their mum first dated, and even fewer know about their dad's early love life (19 per cent). Yet, 34 per cent could correctly identify Chelsy Davy as Prince Harry's first high-profile girlfriend. While 26 per cent knew Wayne Rooney's first car – a Ford SportKa - but only 21 per cent could say the same of their mum's. Most read in Drama The survey was commissioned by National Rail, on behalf of the rail industry, which has launched a new version of '36 Questions' to help people find out more about their loved ones, and enjoy more meaningful conversations with friends and family. Psychologist Dr Madeleine Mason Roantree, working with the brand, said: 'Many of us assume we know our loved ones better than we actually do. Watch the emotional moment Gavin and Stacey cast break down in tears as they hug for final time before Christmas episode 'But research, and everyday experience, show us that we often have blind spots and gaps in our understanding of those around us.' The study also found many haven't asked key questions about themselves, with 40 per cent unaware how they got their name. But 47 per cent know how at least one of the Beckham kids got their names – with Brooklyn topping the list (37 per cent). However, not having the time to ask personal questions can lead to regret in later life – of those who've lost a parent, 30 per cent wished they had asked about their grandparents. And 27 per cent longed to speak to them about their happiest memories. But while 57 per cent want to know more about their loved ones, 21 per cent don't know what to ask to get the conversation started. The research also revealed train journeys were considered among the best ways to connect with others. This was due to the lack of distractions and increased quality time (59 per cent), making the mode of transport the ideal environment for bonding. Gavin and Stacey's Best Moments With the news that the show is set to make an exciting return to screens, let's take a look at some of the comedy programme's biggest and best moments... Smithy and Rudi's American Boy rap - No one will ever forget when James Corden and Sheridan Smith rapped perfectly word for word the Kanye West and Estelle hit American Boy as they walked across the car park on the phone to Gavin. Pam's Vegetarian faux pas - Despite loving a cheesburger, Pam found herself caught up in a web of unexpected lies when she claimed to be Vegetarian. She is forced to keep up the secret throughout the entire show and uses hubby Mick to help her scoff meat. She is later rumbled when Stacey catches her in the act as she scoffs ham in the kitchen. Stacey says to her: 'Is that ham, Pam!?… 'I've seen you, Pam. A scotch egg here, a bit of bacon there, putting those regular sausages into the Linda McCartney box'. THAT fishing trip - It remains one of the biggest mysteries in Gavin and Stacey history as to just exactly what did happen on the ill-fated fishing trip. Bryn appears to be hiding a secret as to an occurance between him and his nephew Jason which has left relations fractures. Ness' on-off boyfriend, Dave, is the only other person to know the whole truth. Bryn did appear to allude to him and Jason lying together naked to keep warm as he said to Dave: 'We're going to have this out, once and for all, man to man, you may know what happened, David, but you don't know why it happened! It was freezing cold, it was! And when you are that cold…' Islands in the Stream - No one can ever forget the classic Karaoke performance of Islands in the Stream. Nessa and Bryn performed the track in front of all their nearest and dearest. It saw the whole pub burst into some line-dancing as they enjoyed a boozy night out. The Xmas special proposal - In 2019, fans were left overjoyed when the show made a comeback but it ended on the ultimate cliffhanger. Nessa asked Smithy if she would marry him as she finally laid bare her feelings for him. Fans were gutted as the show then cut straight to the credits as they never found out just how Smithy answered. Will all be revealed in the brand new episode?
