
Egypt expands Sukari Gold Mine operations as part of national mining strategy
CAIRO – 16 May 2025: The Cabinet's Media Center released a video underscoring the importance of the Sukari Gold Mine, which it described as one of the largest gold mines in the world.
The video detailed the mine's ongoing expansion operations in Egypt's Eastern Desert, aimed at increasing the gold reserves. It also emphasized that highly skilled Egyptian technical labor is working around the clock using the most advanced equipment globally to maximize production and ensure the highest quality standards.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly conducted an extensive field visit to the Sukari Gold Mine in the Marsa Alam area of the Eastern Desert. During the visit, he reviewed the various stages of gold ore production. The visit came to reflect the government's commitment to supporting and developing the mining sector and encouraging investment in this vital industry.
Madbouly stressed the critical importance of the mineral wealth sector in Egypt. He noted the state's dedication to formulating a strategic plan for the development of this sector, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, with the goal of achieving the maximum possible economic return.
According to him, a comprehensive roadmap has been established to implement this strategy, focusing on enhancing the performance of the mining sector, utilizing Egypt's diverse mineral resources, and expanding extractive industries.

Egypt Praises France's Planned Recognition of Palestine as a Historic Milestone

Jordan, UAE Airdrop 25 Tons of Aid over Gaza
Israa Farhan Military transport aircraft from Jordan and the United Arab Emirates have delivered 25 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza via coordinated airdrop operations, according to a statement by the Royal Jordanian Air Force. The aid delivery involved three airdrop missions targeting civilians in Gaza, where the population remains in urgent need due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The cargo included essential food supplies, medical provisions, and daily necessities. According to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, this latest mission brings the total number of independent Jordanian air aid operations to 127 since the outbreak of the armed escalation in 2023. Additionally, Jordan has participated in 267 joint airdrop missions in cooperation with various international partners. Ground-based humanitarian efforts have also continued. On Sunday alone, 60 Jordanian aid trucks carrying food supplies crossed into Gaza, as reported by Al Mamlaka television. Beyond logistical support, Jordan is providing medical assistance on the ground. Two field hospitals established by Jordan are currently operating in both the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. Najma Walk collaborates with IWG to operate office spaces under Regus brand
Najma Walk Developments has announced a partnership with the International Workplace Group (IWG), a global leader in flexible workspace solutions, to manage and operate the project's administrative units under the Regus brand. Located in New Cairo and spanning over 12,000 sqm, the Najma Walk project features commercial, medical, and administrative spaces designed with modern architectural concepts and open views. The project also integrates artificial intelligence technologies into its design and services, reflecting the company's commitment to adopting global standards in sustainable real estate development. This partnership with IWG marks the third international collaboration for Najma Walk, following earlier agreements with Concorde Hotels & Resorts to manage hotel units and Eterna Clinics to operate medical facilities. In a statement, the Board of Directors of Najma Walk highlighted that excavation and soil preparation are already underway, with construction progressing ahead of schedule. 'We are moving forward at an accelerated pace, underscoring our commitment to delivering a project that meets and exceeds investor expectations,' the Board noted. The Board also emphasised that selecting IWG to operate the administrative units aligns with Najma Walk's integrated operational vision, aimed at ensuring international service standards across all components of the project. Youssef Naguib, Executive Director of IWG in Egypt, commented: 'We are pleased to partner with Najma Walk to establish a new flexible workspace under our Regus brand. This step supports our broader strategy to expand our network to 150 centres across Egypt by 2030, driven by rising demand for flexible workspace solutions—particularly in key areas such as New Cairo, West Cairo, the North Coast, and the New Administrative Capital. Through new locations like Najma Walk, we aim to better meet the evolving needs of the Egyptian workforce.'
