Yahoo23-07-2025
After England dramatically booked their place in the European Championship final last night, it is now time to find out who will join them.
Before we get into today's action, what happened yesterday? ⏮️
The defending champions put themselves within one game of retaining their trophy with another incredible comeback.
After pulling themselves off the canvas against Sweden in the quarter-final, the Lionesses were at it again against Italy, with teenage hero Michelle Agyemang sending the contest to extra-time with a 96th minute equaliser.
Azzurre hearts were broken at the death when, with penalties looming, Chloe Kelly's rebound was turned home to send Sarina Wiegman's through.
Who is playing today? 👀
Spain aim to add the continental crown to their world title when they take on Germany.Should La Roja progress, it would provide a repeat of the most recent World Cup final, in which they defeated England 1-0.
However, if Germany pull off an upset it will throw up a rematch of the Euro 2022 final, when they lost 2-1 to England at Wembley.
Player to watch 🔍
In their quarter-final against Switzerland, Aitana Bonmatí showed her quality just when her side needed it most.
Player of the Match in Spain's 2-0 win, they toiled for an hour until she came up with a delightful moment of inspiration with her back-heel assist to open up the contest and break the hosts' hearts.
"I was always calm," she said assuredly afterwards.
The pressure never seems to faze her and she will once more be key to her side's prospects of success.

Germany's hopes of springing a surprise have been hindered in the build-up by a defensive crisis which could be prove very costly.
Kathrin Hendrich will miss out through suspension after her early red card in the quarter-final victory over France and she will be joined watching from the sidelines by Sarai Linder, who picked up an injury last time out.
Captain Giulia Gwinn is also an ongoing fitness absentee, while goalscoring hero from the gutsy win over France Sjoeke Nüsken is also suspended.
How will Christian Wück cope with the issues?
Must-watch video 🎥
The reaction to Ann-Katrin Berger's stunning save in Germany's quarter-final win over France is entirely justified.
Fun facts
The nations have met once previously at the European Championship, with Germany coming out on top in a 2-0 group stage clash in 2022
Across all their 50 Euros fixtures, Germany have only been beaten five times (winning 38 and drawing seven times)
Esther González's strike against Italy made her the first Spanish player to score in four successive Euros games (only Germany's Alexandra Popp netted in more with five)
Our prediction 🔮
Germany 1-2 Spain

According to Footmercato, Udinese are in advanced negotiations to sell Florian Thauvin to RC Lens for €6m, with the player already agreeing personal terms. The 32-year-old only recently signed a new contract with the Friulani that runs to June 2026, putting pen to paper in late June 2025, just days before the previous deal was due to expire. Nonetheless, his future at the Bluenergy Stadium is far from secure, with reports in France that he has given the all-clear to join RC Lens. The Frenchman has had an odd career path, playing for Bastia, Lille, Olympique Marseille, Newcastle United and Mexican club Tigres. He made a surprise return to Europe for Udinese as a free agent in January 2023 and made a strong impression, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in 73 competitive games. Bernardeschi avoids serious injury, still out for 3 weeks

Bologna will be without new signing Federico Bernardeschi for at least three weeks after a knee injury, but fears of ligament damage were fortunately unfounded. The former Toronto FC wide forward made the move to the Stadio Dall'Ara as a free agent this summer and was hoping to reboot his career after his time in Major League Soccer. There was an immediate setback, as after converting a penalty in the friendly match against Vis Pesaro, he limped off with a knee injury. However, today it was confirmed Bernardeschi had only suffered a sprain to the right knee. It still means he will be out of action for circa three weeks, but he can at least hope to be back in action for the Serie A season opener against Roma. A more likely scenario is to get him ready for the Week 2 fixture against Como.

Report – Inter Milan Could Completely Change Transfer Strategy If Lookman Pursuit Fails

Inter Milan could completely change their transfer strategy this summer if they're unable to land Ademola Lookman. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could shift their focus to signing a defender. The status of Inter Milan's pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is still up in the air. It's been a couple days since La Dea's bombshell rejection of Inter's second offer for the Nigerian. They turned down a bid of €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons. And Inter are still mulling over whether to return with another improved bid. And in the meantime, Lookman has publicly handed in a transfer request. He has accused Atalanta of 'not keeping their promise' to sell him. (Photo by) There is still, however, no guarantee that Inter will sign Lookman. The Nigerian is pushing for the move. But the final decision will ultimately belong to Atalanta, who could also try to sell Lookman to a different club. There are other targets in attack for Inter. First among them, reports the Corriere della Sera, is Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea. However, alternatively, Inter may shift gears from making a big attacking signing that would facilitate the change to a 3-4-2-1 formation. Instead, the Corriere della Sera report, Inter could focus on a defensive signing. Giovanni Leoni would be the top target in this respect.
