Winnipeg police say four women sexually assaulted near HSC, investigators looking for suspect

Winnipeg police are looking for a suspect after investigators said four women were sexually assaulted near the Health Sciences Campus. Police said four incidents were reported between 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., three of which involved staff members at the hospital. The first involved a teenage girl near Elgin Avenue and Sherbrook Street. Police said she was walking when a man confronted her and she was sexually assaulted. Then at 7:12 p.m., an HSC employee was walking east of William Avenue near Furby Street. She too was confronted and sexually assaulted, police said. The last two incidents also involved staff and happened three minutes apart. The first happened in the hospital tunnels and the second was south on Emily Street from McDermot Avenue. Police said both women were sexually assaulted by an unknown man. Investigators are now looking for a man in his 20s who has a slim build with dark hair. He was wearing a Winnipeg Jets shirt and had jewelry on. Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
