Jack Osbourne reveals he wasn't close to sister Aimee before Ozzy's funeral

Jack Osbourne appeared on TV show The Osbournes along with mum Sharon, dad Ozzy, and his sister Kelly - but his older sister Aimee decided to shun the opportunity
Jack Osbourne says he and sister Aimee were 'not close at all' before they reconnected at the funeral of their much-loved dad Ozzy Osbourne last week.

While siblings Jack, 39, and Kelly, 40, starred in the MTV hit reality show The Osbournes, 41-year-old Aimee opted not to appear at all. She reportedly feared she would be seen as 'riding on the coattails' of her family as she tried to make a name in the music industry.

That created distance between Jack and his sister and although they reunited at their father's funeral, Jack says they are no closer now. Appearing on the Disrespectfully podcast, Jack spoke about their relationship - and if she regretted not taking part in the programme. It comes after Sharon Osbourne breaks down in tears at Ozzy's funeral in heartbreaking scenes.

He said: "I've never had the conversation with her, we're not close at all. We don't have a great relationship, she'll be the first to tell you that, so it's no secret. I've never asked her outright, 'Do you regret it?'
"I think there must be a level of like, 'Hey, my life would have probably been different than what it is if I'd done that', so I don't know, I think I would feel like I would have regretted it."

Speaking more about her decision to shun the show, Jack said: "Back then she really wanted to be a musician and the kind of musician she wanted to be was like a Fiona Apple, Mazzy Star, like this kind of obscure, mysterious, moody. She deemed doing a show on MTV as low-hanging fruit.
She was like, 'I'm not going to be seen riding coat-tails,' kind of thing, that's how she perceived it. Once the show was hugely successful, I think she was kind of like, 'Well, I can't now come on because I don't want to be seen even more so as jumping on the bandwagon' - she dug her heels in and wanted to be relatively private and obscure."

In a previous interview with the Independent, Aimee looked back on her choice to step away. She confided in the publication: "Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life, so why on earth would I want that portrayed on television? I wanted to protect myself, my parents, and my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable."
The Black Sabbath frontman was laid to rest beside an ornamental lake on his 250-acre estate in Buckinghamshire. Since his death, fans have left floral tributes outside the property.
Almost a fortnight ago, Jack and some of his family announced that musician Ozzy had died, just weeks after he performed in a farewell gig alongside his band Black Sabbath.
Sharon Osbourne and four of Ozzy's children issued a joint statement. It read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis."
