Beijing had banned delivery of Boeing aircraft in April as a tariff dispute escalated between the world's two biggest economies, but in May, it removed that ban, as the two countries agreed to temporarily cut steep tariffs.Aircraft deliveries are closely tracked by Wall Street because planemakers collect much of their payment when they hand over jets to customers.The surge in deliveries comes as Boeing seeks to recover from years of production setbacks and crises that have left it burdened with debt, underscoring the critical importance of ramping up deliveries to stabilize its finances.Boeing delivered 42 of its best-selling 737 MAX jets, nine 787s, four 777 freighters and five 767s, including three to be finished by Boeing's defense division as KC-46 aerial refueling tankers.Southwest Airlines took delivery of 10 737 MAX aircraft.Five of the 737 MAX jets were for Chinese airlines. Boeing also delivered three other jets to Chinese customers, including a 787 and two 777 freighters.The company delivered 44 jets the previous month and 45 in June 2024.Through the first half of 2025, Boeing has delivered 280 jets, including 206 737 MAX aircraft, 37 787s, 14 767s, 20 777s and three older model 737s to be finished as P-8 Poseidons, a naval reconnaissance airplane.Boeing booked 116 gross new orders in June, including 54 737 MAXes and 62 787s. Alaska Airlines ordered 12 737s, and British Airways ordered 32 787s.Singapore Airlines also cancelled orders in June for three 737 MAX jets.June's order activity was a drop from May, when Boeing posted its sixth-highest monthly order tally in Boeing's history, according to company data.Through the first half of the year, the planemaker has booked 668 orders, or 625 net orders after cancellations and conversions.European rival Airbus delivered 63 aircraft in June, the company reported Tuesday. Eight of those were widebody aircraft - three A330s and five A350s. Forty-three were single-aisle A320 and A321 jets that compete with Boeing's 737, and 12 were A220 regional jets.>

India resumes tourist visas for Chinese nationals after five-year freeze
India will start issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals from July 24 after halting them for five years, Reuters reported, citing the Indian Embassy in China. The development marks a shift in the strained ties between the two countries, which are aiming to improve ties and ease tensions after Galwan clashes in 2020. Chinese media Global Times shared the post made by the Indian Embassy in China on Weibo. Sharing the post on X, it said, "The Embassy of India in China announced via its Sina Weibo account on Wednesday that, starting from July 24, 2025, Chinese citizens can apply for a tourist visa to visit India after completing an online application, scheduling an appointment, and personally submitting their passport and other required documents to the Indian Visa Application Centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, in South China's Guangdong Province." It further added, "This marks the first time since the suspension in 2020 that India has resumed issuing tourist visas to Chinese citizens after a five-year hiatus, according to media reports." Earlier this year, the two countries also agreed to resume direct air services, along with resuming the Kailash Mansarovar yatra this summer. Both the direct air services and the Kailash Mansarovar yatra were suspended after the Covid-19 pandemic and the Galwan clashes. India suspends visas for Chinese nationals In 2020, India suspended all tourist visas for Chinese nationals in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. In April 2022, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) issued a notice, stating that all tourist visas to Chinese nationals will no longer be valid. The move came in retaliation after China limited the re-entry of as many as 22,000 Indian students in the country after the Covid-19 pandemic. Breakthrough in India-China ties Earlier this month, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited China, marking his first visit in five years, indicating a positive development in the ties of the two countries. Earlier in March this year, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted positive developments in India-China relations. He added that both countries have made positive strides in their bilateral ties and achieved encouraging outcomes. Yi emphasised the need for a cooperative partnership between the dragon (China) and the elephant (India). He stated, "China believes that as the largest neighbors, both countries should be partners in each other's success." He attributed the positive developments between the two countries to a successful meeting held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at Kazan, Russia.

Nifty trades near 25,200 level; oil & gas shares jump
The key equity indices traded with significant gains in the mid-afternoon trade. Investors will closely monitor IPO activity, the India-US trade deal, and developments on the tariff front. The Nifty traded near the 25,200 level. Oil & gas shares advanced after declining in the past four trading sessions. At 14:25 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, advanced 505.01 points or 0.60% to 82,679.42. The Nifty 50 index added 138.95 points or 0.55% to 25,199.85. The broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index declined 0.10% and the S&P BSE Small-Cap index shed 0.16%. The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 1,736 shares rose and 2,199 shares fell. A total of 190 shares were unchanged. Buzzing Index: The Nifty Oil & Gas index jumped 0.30% to 11,631.95. The index fell 2.04% in the past four trading session. Castrol India (up 2.52%), GAIL (India) (up 1.16%), Adani Total Gas (up 0.94%), Petronet LNG (up 0.92%) and Reliance Industries (up 0.65%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 0.59%), Gujarat Gas (up 0.53%), Aegis Logistics (up 0.51%) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (up 0.47%) advanced. Numbers to Track: The yield on India's 10-year benchmark federal paper rose 0.08% to 6.313 from the previous close of 6.309. In the foreign exchange market, the rupee edged lowerr against the dollar. The partially convertible rupee was hovering at 85.4325 compared with its close of 86.3800 during the previous trading session. MCX Gold futures for 5 August 2025 settlement rose 0.04% to Rs 1,00,369. The US Dollar Index (DXY), which tracks the greenback's value against a basket of currencies, was up 0.09% to 97.45. The United States 10-year bond yield rose 1.04% to 4.381. In the commodities market, Brent crude for September 2025 settlement declined 12 cents, or 0.17% to $68.47 a barrel. Stocks to Watch: Ideaforge Technology declined 6.46% after the company reported consolidated net loss of Rs 23.5 crore in Q1 FY26 compared with net profit of Rs 1.17 in Q1 FY25. Revenue from operations declined 85.17% YoY to Rs 12.78 crore during the quarter. Maharashtra Scooters shed 0.06%. The company reported a 328.09% surge in standalone net profit to Rs 35.36 crore, on a 241.54% rise in total income to Rs 29.27 crore in Q1 FY26 over Q1 FY25.
