RUBEN AMORIM has been so impressed by the dedication of his Manchester United squad that he has CANCELLED the planned double training sessions.
In a stark change from the dictatorial regime the United squad endured under former boss Erik tan Hag on their Asian tour last summer, Old Trafford chief Amorim and his fitness team have seen enough to ensure a relaxed environment at their Chicago base.

And the buy-in from the players has been clear, with a growing feeling that United might, at last, be back on the right track.
SunSport has been given an insight into how Amorim and his players have spent their time since arriving in the USA last week.
That includes the gym and fitness demands, how he has managed the sauna-like conditions to develop tactical plans and down-time for the players to ensure they are ready to take more on board.
Amorim and his staff, aware of how far behind the Prem elite they were last season, were determined to make a flying start when the players returned to Carrington at the start of July.

All the first team squad were given pretty detailed and intensive fitness programmes to do during their holidays, including reporting their performance in specific physical tasks.
From day one, it was clear to the club's sports science staff, when the numbers clocked matched their reports, that the players had been treating the demands seriously.
A bleep test-style sprint exercise, ramping up the requirements, brought extra intensity to the initial sessions, as Amorim and his staff wanted confirmation that the players recognised how much was needed.
But the positive statistical feedback was proof that the squad wanted to be part of a new approach, with that push for fitness continuing over the past four weeks.

The gym work has started at 10:30 each day, with the players gathering for breakfast from 7.30am onwards - although without a rigid timeline, except for Amorim, who has done his own hour's gym work before the players have finished their morning meal.
But the coach to training - at Chicago Fire's impressive Endeavour complex - has left on the dot at 9.15am.
Sesko wants Man Utd move as Villa block Watkins exit | Transfers Exposed
Sessions have seen a lot of running on the Endeavour pitches, with one nominal 'shooting' drill including stamina work on sprints between the stations.
And with the heat in mind, Amorim - with not even the club cameras rolling - has started his tactical work with the squad.
That is about making players feel emboldened to make decisions under pressure, with just two or three bullet-point style instructions.
Set-piece work is overseen by assistant manager Carlos Fernandes, viewed by Amorim as his trusted confident and second set of eyes - not dissimilar to the role Jose Mourinho had under Bobby Robson at Porto.
However, Amorim's initial plans for his side to do two training sessions each day have not been required because of the high fitness levels.
That has allowed Amorim to give his players their afternoons largely off, with the extra free time providing an opportunity for them to strengthen their internal relationships.
Players have relaxed in cafes and gone shopping - with Chicago offering a relative anonymity they would not get at home.
Unlike on previous tours, though, few of Amorim's side have utilsed the games room install at their Waldorf Astoria hotel, mainly as it is sited on the third floor, two stories below the main rooms level.
Amorim is understood to believe he needs to treat the players as adults rather than petulant or truculent children, as happened under Ten Hag.
Skipper Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire have been influential figures, speaking to the various player groups and staff to help foster the collective environment the manager has been determined to achieve.
That has all helped, especially for the players who remember the Ten Hag pre-season tours with a shudder.
It is about discipline within an agreed system, rather than a draconian crackdown.
That was shown when Ten Hag and his players were in the Thai capital Bangkok.
The lifts in their hotel were very slow and with Ten Hag imposing punishments for anybody who was late to attend a meeting or a meal, many of the players ended up using the stairs to ensure they were on time.
It meant stairwells packed with players hauling themselves up 40 flights of stairs to get to the dining room.

Man Utd slash star's value in half in hope of sale amid Benjamin Sesko plan

Manchester United's transfer business is not yet done and the Red Devils are happy to take a loss on Rasmus Hojlund this summer as they target a new striker for Ruben Amorim Manchester United have opened the door to selling Rasmus Hojlund this summer and have set an asking price of £30million for their striker. United are pursuing a new forward, with RB Leipzig's £70m-rated Benjamin Sesko their top target, although they face competition from Newcastle for his signature. ‌ Hojlund scored the opening goal in United's 4-1 win over Bournemouth in Chicago on Wednesday and said afterwards he is determined to stay and fight for his place next season. But if United are successful in signing Sesko or another forward, Hojlund, 22, will struggle for game time next season, particularly because Ruben Amorim's side are not in Europe next season. ‌ Hojlund could go the other way to Leipzig, as part of a player-plus-cash swap deal with Sesko, but the Denmark international is understood to not want to go to the Bundesliga club. Last season Hojlund, who joined United from Atalanta for £72m in 2023, scored 10 goals in all competitions and just four in the Premier League, underlining the need for a more prolific striker to lead their attack. ‌ United have already seen Newcastle have a bid turned down for target Sesko. The Magpies offered £65.5m and more than £4m of add-ons but the Bundesliga side will hope competition from Old Trafford can drive up the Slovenia star's value. Sesko, who scored 13 times last season, was left out of RB Leipzig's matchday squad for their friendly against Serie A side Atalanta on Saturday. The forward is under contract until 2029. United have already held talks with both player and club, and despite significant spending on the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer, the club can make the signing of a forward without first selling players. But Hojlund's future could become difficult if more competition arrivs. Asked if he had received any assurances from the club about his position earlier this week, Hojlund said: 'Nothing so far. 'I think the most important thing for me is just to keep working hard and stay focused and then obviously we'll see what happens. I think my plan is very clear and that's for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. Competition is fine with me, it sharpens me. I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp, so I'm welcoming everything that comes. I think it's good with competition and it only sharpens the team. ‌ 'I'm still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I'm only 22. Obviously, not every striker is scoring 100 goals at the age of 22. But I've learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. 'I'm starting to develop and become even better at the basics. Now it's just about for me to sharpen myself and I've done very well in the pre-season, so far. Just focusing on continuing that.' Man Utd set low asking price to sell Rasmus Hojlund after Benjamin Sesko bid

Manchester United are willing to sell Rasmus Hojlund for £30 million this summer, according to reports. United are in talks with RB Leipzig to sign Benjamin Sesko but are facing strong competition from Newcastle for the 22-year-old. Newcastle's offer worth €80 million (£69.8m), including €75m (£65.5m) up front, has been rejected by RB Leipzig, while United are yet to make a bid. Hojlund, meanwhile, struggled to make an impact for United last season, scoring just four goals in 32 Premier League appearances, while the 22-year-old also faced criticism over his link-up play in attack. United signed Hojlund for an initial £64 million fee from Atalanta two years ago and according to BBC Sport, the club would allow the Denmark international to leave Old Trafford this summer if their £30m asking price is met. AC Milan are among the clubs who are considering a move for Hojlund, who is currently with Ruben Amorim's squad as they prepare for the final game of their pre-season tour of the United States against Everton on Sunday. Speaking this week, Hojlund made it clear that he wants to fight for his place at United. 'The most important [thing] for me is to keep working hard and stay focused and then we'll see what happens,' Hojlund said. 'My plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot. 'Competition is fine with me, it sharpens me. I'm more than ready.' More Trending Meanwhile, Amorim has refused to rule out the prospect of United selling Hojlund before the end of the summer window. 'I'm really happy with Rasmus but I don't know what is going to happen until the end of the market,' Amorim said. 'The important thing is that Rasmus is scoring goals. He's connecting really well with the team. He's improving. 'I don't know what is going to happen until the market is closed. We suffered a lot because of the lack of goals last season.' Man Utd transfer news: Benjamin Sesko twist as new signing set for debut

Manchester United are set to wrap up their tour of the United States against Everton on Sunday night with Bryan Mbeumo in line for his debut as striker saga rumbles on Manchester United are engaged in a tug of war with Newcastle United over their attempts to sign striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig - with the Toon submitting a bid to sign the Slovenia international amid fears that they will lose Alexander Isak to Liverpool. ‌ But United remain in the race with Newcatle's opening submission some way short of Leipzig's asking price. An offer exceeding £70m is set to be required for Sesko to depart the Bundesliga side. ‌ Ruben Amorim's team wrap up their tour of the United States on Sunday night against Everton with fresh speculation surrounding Bruno Fernandes ' interest from Saudi Arabia. But United will see Bryan Mbeumo play for the first time since his arrival from Brentford against David Moyes ' side. ‌ Here are the transfer tales worth keeping an eye on as the new season appears on the horizon. Sesko absence Benjamin Sesko was not in RB Leipzig's matchday squad for their friendly against Serie A side Atalanta on Saturday afternoon with the much coveted striker now at the centre of a tug of war between Manchester United and Newcastle. Xavi Simons, who has been linked with a switch to Chelsea, is also absent because of what the Bundesliga club described as a minor neck injury. They did not explain the reason for Sesko's omission. That follows news of Newcastle firming up their interest in the striker amid a separate saga over the future of their current top scorer Alexander Isak. The Toon have now lodged a bid of less than £70m for Sesko. Against that backdrop, Manchester United are braced for protracted negotiations with Bundesliga club Leipzig, who are determined to stand firm on their £70m valuation. ‌ Bruno interest Bruno Fernandes has fresh interest from Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr the latest club to express an interest in the Manchester United captain. The Portuguese midfielder was previously linked with a move to the Middle East earlier this summer. Al-Hilal had tabled a lucrative offer to Fernandes that would have seen him bank around €70m (£61.1m) per year. The Saudi side were also willing to offer United €120m (£104.7m) for their star midfielder. ‌ But, as per Portuguese outlet A Bola, Al-Nassr are now interested in a move for Fernandes. Manager Jorge Jesus is leading the club's interest having worked with the midfielder at former club Sporting Lisbon. Mbeumo bow Bryan Mbeumo will make his long-awaited Manchester United debut on Sunday on the final game of their US tour. Mbeumo, who joined United from Brentford in a deal worth up to £71million, sat out victories over West Ham and Bournemouth because he was behind the rest of the squad in terms of his pre-season fitness level. ‌ But the Cameroon winger, who plundered 20 Premier League goals for Brentford last season, will feature for Ruben Amorim's side as they sign off from the US tour against Everton in Atlanta's Mercedes Benz stadium. United boss Amorim said: 'He's going to play. I'm really excited to see him playing and what he can give to our team. But I was also really excited to see the team playing the last game.
