ABFRL Q4 net loss at Rs 23.55 cr; revenue rises Rs 1,719.48 crore

on Friday said its
consolidated net loss
narrowed to Rs 23.55 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 2025. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 266.36 crore during the January-March quarter a year ago, according a regulatory filing from Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL).
Its
revenue from operations
rose to Rs 1,719.48 during the quarter under review. It was at Rs 1,575.12 crore in the year-ago period.
Total expenses of ABFRL were at Rs 1,959.53 crore in the March quarter.
According to ABFRL, its results are not comparable due to demerger of
Madura Fashion & Lifestyle Business
.
"Pursuant to the demerger, the balances of assets and liabilities relating to MFL business has been transferred to the resulting company. Accordingly, the balance sheet as at March 31, 2025 is not comparable with the balance sheet as at March 31, 2024," it said.
Its revenue from Pantaloons was at Rs 884.60 crore and Rs 846.99 crore from Ethnic and others.
In the financial year ended March 2025, ABFRL's net loss was at Rs 455.82 crore.
In FY25, the revenue from operation was at Rs 7,354.73 crore.
Stock of Adltya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd on Friday settled at Rs 88.50, down 1.50 per cent from previous close.

641 Million Litres Of Untreated Sewage Entering Yamuna From Delhi Each Day
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has estimated that 641 million litres of untreated sewage per day enter the Yamuna from the capital, worsening pollution in the key water body. As of June 2025, the 37 sewage treatment plants in operation, which have a combined capacity of 3,474 million litres per day (MLD), were only treating 2,955 MLD of the 3,596 MLD of sewage generated by the city. Of these, 14 STPs were non-compliant with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee standards. The Central Pollution Control Board conducts monthly assessments of the Yamuna's water quality at Palla, Nizamuddin Bridge, and Okhla Barrage as part of the National Water Quality Monitoring Programme, measuring factors such as biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, and faecal coliform since January 2025. In 2024, the CPCB evaluated 189 grossly polluting industries within the Yamuna basin, releasing 1.33 million liters per day (MLD) of treated wastewater, which contributed a pollution load of 0.046 tonnes per day in biochemical oxygen demand. Out of the 158 operational grossly polluting industries, 49 were found to be in violation of discharge regulations or did not possess valid consent, resulting in the issuance of 40 show-cause notices and nine directives for closure from State Pollution Control Boards/Pollution Control Committees. Under the Namami Gange Programme, nine projects costing Rs 1,951 crores have been completed, creating a sewerage treatment capacity of 1,268 MLD. Since January 2025, Rs 140 crore has been allocated for Yamuna cleaning by the National Mission for Clean Ganga and the Government of NCT of Delhi, with Rs 108.31 crores utilised. The Ministry of Jal Shakti is supporting Yamuna rejuvenation through financial aid to Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Projects at various stages of planning, construction, and completion are being closely monitored, said Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Shri Raj Bhushan Choudhary, in a written reply in Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Tirkey said the state govt is working to make Jharkhand's farmers self-reliant in the coming years. Tirkey added that every farmer and farm groups are being provided with subsidy-based agriculture assets under the Mukhiya Mantri Tractor Vitran Yojna and Krishi Yantra Protsahan Yojna. "Under these, farmers have freedom to pick agriculture equipment of their choice," she said. Tirkey also briefed the farmers about the various schemes run by her department and assured them that they could personally contact her if they have any issues. Torpa MLA Sudeep Guria and executive director of Jharkhand Agriculture Machinery Testing and Training Centre R P Singh also addressed the farmers who came from Gumla, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Khunti, and Simdega districts. Gumla deputy commissioner Prerna Dixit said, "Agriculture is the mainstay of livelihood. The govt's objective is to ensure that farmers become empowered and self-reliant using technical support and modern resources. "

Himachal Cabinet Okays OBC Quota In Urban Local Body Elections
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday decided to introduce reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in Urban Local Bodies in the upcoming elections and gave nod to operation of lotteries in the state. The cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also recommended the governor to convene the Monsoon Session of Vidhan Sabha from August 18 to September 2, the government in a statement said. So far there is reservation for women, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in the Urban Local Bodies elections. A Backward Classes Commission would now be constituted for compiling the accurate data of OBC before finalising the reservation roster. The cabinet also gave its nod to the sale of lotteries in the state. Lottery was banned in the state by the Himachal government headed by BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal in 1999 and made its violation punishable under Lotteries (Regulation) Act. The cabinet on Thursday granted a one-time relaxation of two years in the upper age limit for the people appearing for the competitive examination for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Junior Basic Training, (JBT) posts. It also decided to reserve one seat for orphans in all courses in the government, government-aided and private technical institutions, including ITIs, polytechnics, engineering and pharmacy colleges. The cabinet granted an ex post facto approval to grant rent money in aid to families affected by natural disasters living in relief camps. Families in rural areas would get Rs 5,000 and urban areas Rs 10,000 each month in their bank accounts for a maximum of six months. The cabinet ordered posting of two home guards each at distilleries, bottling and brewery plants to check illegal activities there. It approved the auction of 10 minor mineral quarries in Kangra district and the re-auction of 11 such quarries in Bilaspur district - the move is expected to generate Rs 18.82 crore in revenue, the government said. The cabinet also approved setting up of a Tourism Investment Promotion Council, to be headed by the chief minister, to oversee projects with investment of over Rs 50 crore. The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) was empowered to issue a HIM bus card to eligible commuters. The cabinet announced the launch of Phase-II of the Himachal Pradesh Sadbhawana Legacy Cases Resolution Scheme, 2025, for a period of three months from September 1 to resolve around 30,000 pending tax cases.
