
Calls for SAPS lifestyle audit mount amid integrity crisis
JOHANNESBURG - The chairperson of Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Police has called for urgent lifestyle and skills audits for senior police officers.
This comes after KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's shocking allegations.
The commissioner accuses the police minister of having links to the criminal underworld.
Chairperson of the portfolio committee Ian Cameron, says Mkhwanazi's recent actions fit the status of a whistleblower and he knew what he was getting himself into.
Cameron says the next steps are critical and emphasised on a lifestyle and skills audit.

Judge president denies harassment
EAST LONDON - Eastern Cape Judge President, Selby Mbenenge, insists his WhatsApp request for court secretary, Andiswa Mengo, to take off her top was not sexual harassment. He denies ever harassing or pressuring Mengo, insisting the conversations were consensual. Mbenenge also denies sending explicit pictures of his penis to Mengo, though the messages suggest otherwise. Proceedings on Wednesday were momentarily disrupted when a demonstrator barged in with a placard reading Justice for Mengo.
