Kootenay Silver Delivers Maiden Resource Estimate of 54 Moz at 284 gpt Silver, Highlighting High-Grade Potential at Columba Project

Cision Canada17-06-2025
VANCOUVER, BC, June 17, 2025 /CNW/ - Kootenay Silver Inc. (TSXV: KTN) (OTCQX: KOOYF) (the "Company" or "Kootenay") is pleased to announce the completion of the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate on its 100%-owned Columba Silver Project, located in Chihuahua, Mexico. This milestone represents a major step forward in advancing Columba Project as a significant silver exploration target and development opportunity. Much of the drilling at Columba is wide spaced and the company intends to expand and infill known mineralized zones with ongoing work.
Kootenay's President & CEO, James McDonald states,
" The maiden resource estimate of 54 million ounces at an excellent grade of 284 gpt silver is just the beginning. It is a starting point of 54 million ounces that sets Kootenay up very well to achieve its objective of defining an economic resource at Columba. The probability of increasing this resource with the very next drill program is considered strong given all the open-ended mineralized zones and undrilled targets we see."
The key takeaways from this maiden resource estimate are;
First Ever Columba Project Mineral Resource Estimate (Inferred category)
54.1 Moz of silver, 25.2 Mlbs of lead, and 65.6 Mlbs of zinc
5.92 Mt grading 284 gpt silver, 0.19% lead, and 0.50% zinc
All the mineralized veins remain wide open to expansion along strike, to depth or both.
Vein continuity is excellent
5 to 6 meters Vein width average across all zones
Silver grades are excellent across the mineralized structures
Targets for significant expansion are immediately evident. The D vein for example, is known to extend vertically for near double the depth currently drilled while nearly half the strike length of the D Vein needs more drill holes to pull intercepts into a resource.
Mr. McDonald adds; " Congratulations to our team for their high standard of work, diligence and attention to detail and for taking Columba from a property exam to a negotiation of concession ownership, to surface access agreements, to discovery, and now the maiden resource. We believe this resource is just the first step in defining the true extent of the mineralized system at Columba and remain focused on advancing exploration. We will continue with step out drilling of several kilometers of undrilled veins as well as selective infill on wide spaced intervals on known veins. Our team have designed an additional 50,000 meters of drilling planned at Columba with the first 20,000 to 30,000 meters focused on expanding the known resource."
Highlights of the Columba Property MRE are as follows:
The underground MRE includes, at a base-case cut-off grade of 150 gpt Ag, Inferred Mineral Resources estimated at 5.92 Mt grading 284 gpt silver, 0.19% lead, and 0.50% zinc. The Mineral Resource Estimate includes Inferred mineral resources of 54.1 Moz of silver, 25.2 Mlbs of lead, and 65.6 Mlbs of zinc. The MRE is exclusive of mined out material (F Vein).
A total of 17 epithermal veins that comprise the Columba vein system were included in the Mineral Resource Estimate.
The underground base case cut-off grade of 150 gpt Ag considers metal price of US$26.00/oz Ag, metal recovery of 90% for Ag, a mining cost of US$60.00/t rock and a processing, treatment and refining, transportation and G&A cost of US$45.00/t mineralized material.
Columba Property Mineral Resource Estimate Notes:
(1)
The mineral resource was estimated by Ben Eggers, MAIG, P.Geo. of SGS Geological Services, an independent Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. Eggers conducted a site visit to the Columba Property on May 28, 2025. The mineral resource was peer reviewed by Allan Armitage, Ph.D., P.Geo. of SGS Geological Services, an independent Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. Armitage conducted a site visit to the Columba Property on May 24-25, 2024.
(2)
The classification of the Mineral Resource Estimate into Inferred mineral resources is consistent with current 2014 CIM Definition Standards for Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves. The effective date of the Columba Property Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) is May 29, 2025. This is the close out date for the final mineral resource drilling database.
(3)
All figures are rounded to reflect the relative accuracy of the estimate and numbers may not add due to rounding.
(4)
All mineral resources are presented undiluted and in situ, constrained by continuous 3D wireframe models (considered mineable shapes), and are considered to have reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction. The mineral resource is exclusive of mined out material.
(5)
Mineral resources are not mineral reserves. Mineral resources which are not mineral reserves, do not have demonstrated economic viability. An Inferred Mineral Resource has a lower level of confidence than that applying to an Indicated or Measured Mineral Resource and must not be converted to a Mineral Reserve. It is reasonably expected that the majority of Inferred Mineral Resources could be upgraded to Indicated or Measured Mineral Resources with continued exploration.
(6)
The Columba mineral resource estimate is based on a validated drillhole database which includes data from 217 surface diamond drill holes completed between 2019 and March 2025. The drilling totals 53,476 m. The resource database totals 28,448 assay intervals representing 45,805 m of data.
(7)
The mineral resource estimate is based on 17 three-dimensional ("3D") resource models representing epithermal veins which comprise the Columba vein system. 3D models of mined out areas were used to exclude mined out material from the current MRE.
(8)
Grades for Ag, Pb, and Zn are estimated for each mineralization domain using 1.5 m capped composites assigned to that domain. To generate grade within the blocks, the inverse distance squared (ID 2) interpolation method was used for all domains.
(9)
Average density values were assigned to each domain based on a database of 4,049 samples.
(10)
It is envisioned that the Columba Project deposits may be mined using underground mining methods. Mineral resources are reported at a base case cut-off grade of 150 gpt AgEq. The mineral resource grade blocks were quantified above the base case cut-off grade, below surface and within the constraining mineralized wireframes.
(11)
The underground base case cut-off grade of 150 gpt Ag considers a metal price of US$26.00/oz Ag and metal recovery of 90% for Ag.
(12)
The underground base case cut-off grade of 150 gpt Ag considers a mining cost of US$60.00/t rock and a processing, treatment and refining, transportation and G&A cost of US$45.00/t mineralized material.
(13)
The estimate of Mineral Resources may be materially affected by environmental, permitting, legal, title, taxation, socio-political, marketing, or other relevant issues.
(1)
Underground mineral resources are reported at a base case cut-off grade of 150 gpt Ag. Values in this table reported above and below the base case cut-off grades should not be misconstrued with a Mineral Resource Statement. The values are only presented to show the sensitivity of the block model estimate to the base case cut-off grade.
(2)
All values are rounded to reflect the relative accuracy of the estimate and numbers may not add due to rounding.

About Columba Project
The Columba project is a classic high grade epithermal vein system. That management believes is a newly recognized vein district. It is typical in character and size of other vein districts in Mexico known to have deposited significant resources of silver or gold such as La Chispas and Panuco.
Hosted within a volcanic caldera setting, the surface extent of mapped veins measures roughly 4 kilometres by 3 kilometres. Vein mineralization occurs over a minimum vertical extent of 350 meters as shown by drilling. The veins appear to be intermediate sulfidation veins indicating the potential for depths exceeding 700 meters of vertical extent. This remains to be tested, and all veins remain open to depth.
The veins cut every known rock type on the project and the veins or vein structures can be traced across the highest elevations of the caldera. This indicates veins formed late in caldera history. As elevation increases vein development becomes irregular eventually being replaced by breccias at the higher elevations. Silver grades diminish with increasing elevation right down to background values. Correspondingly silver grades increase with depth from background at higher elevations to highs of kilograms per tonne at depth. It is evident from these features that the vein system has undergone almost no erosion and so whatever silver was deposited originally is largely still there.
A general rule of thumb on the project is at levels deeper than 1,750 meters above sea level is where good grades begin to appear. This is what is referred to as the grade line.
Prior to Kootenay Silver no exploration had occurred at Columba in nearly 40 years. Historically there were two periods of mining on one of the veins referred to as the F Vein. The first being in the early 1900's when underground development included 6 drifts (tunnels) at different levels coming off a 200-meter-deep shaft. This work was halted by the Mexican Revolution. Then a second brief period of mining occurred around 1958 to 1960 when a small private company used the old development to mine. It is estimated that around 100,000 tonnes were mined.
Kootenay acquired 100% of the project and has completed detailed mapping, lidar, and airborne magnetic surveys along with over 53,000 meters of drilling in over 200 holes across various veins. The company also has a 24-year surface access agreement that includes annual and other payments and allows for both exploration and exploitation. The agreement covers all the mineralized areas drilled to date.
Sampling and QA/QC at Columba
All technical information for the Columba exploration program is obtained and reported under a formal quality assurance and quality control ("QA/QC") program. Samples are taken from core cut in half with a diamond saw under the direction of qualified geologists and engineers. Samples are then labeled, placed in plastic bags, sealed and with interval and sample numbers recorded. Samples are delivered by the Company to ALS Minerals ("ALS") in Chihuahua. The Company inserts blanks, standards and duplicates at regular intervals as follows. On average a blank is inserted every 100 samples beginning at the start of sampling and again when leaving the mineral zone. Standards are inserted when entering the potential mineralized zone and in the middle of them, on average one in every 25 samples is a standard. Duplicates are taken in the mineralized intervals at an average 2 duplicates for each hole.
The samples are dried, crushed and pulverized with the pulps being sent airfreight for analysis by ALS in Vancouver, B.C. Systematic assaying of standards, blanks and duplicates is performed for precision and accuracy. Analysis for silver, zinc, lead and copper and related trace elements was done by ICP four acid digestion, with gold analysis by 30-gram fire assay with an AA finish. All drilling reported is HQ core and was completed by Globextools, S.A. de C.V. of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

Tax Tip - Make the most of your first home savings account Français

OTTAWA, ON, July 22, 2025 /CNW/ - A First Home Savings Account (FHSA) lets you save for a qualifying home with tax-free growth and tax-deductible contributions, making it a great option for potential first-time home buyers. But, it's important to make sure you don't put too much into your FHSA. If you do, part of the tax-free growth you're generating could end up going toward taxes anyway! Here are some tips for how you can make the most of your FHSA and avoid any costly errors: Make sure you're eligible FHSAs are intended for people who are saving for their first home – it's right in the name! You can only open an account if you're an adult resident of Canada and a first-time home buyer. Pro tip: To be considered a first-time home buyer, you can't have lived in a home you owned, or shared ownership of, in the past four years. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, you can't have lived in a home they own either. Understand your participation room Participation room is the total amount your FHSA can hold in a given year. When you open your first FHSA, your participation room is $8,000. Pro tip: Unlike a tax-free savings account, your FHSA participation room only starts when you officially open your first account through your financial institution. You can participate in your FHSA by making contributions from your income or other sources, or you can make transfers from your registered retirement savings plan (RRSP). Pro tip: No matter how you choose to participate, the maximum participation room in your account for the first year is $8,000. Each year after your account was opened, you will get another $8,000 of participation room, as long as you stay within your limit each year. The lifetime limit for FHSAs is $40,000. If you don't end up using all of your participation room for that year by December 31, you may be able to use it the following year. You can open more than one FHSA, but having more than one account doesn't mean you get extra participation room. The total room across all your FHSAs will still be $8,000 in the first year, followed by an additional $8,000 each following year, as long as you stay within your limit, up to a lifetime maximum of $40,000. Once you open your first FHSA and file your taxes for that year, you will get a statement on your notice of assessment that lets you know how much participation room you have. You can also find this statement in your CRA account. Don't over-participate Over-participation is what happens when you contribute or transfer more into your FHSA(s) than your participation room for that year. Pro tip: Any amount that exceeds your participation room is called an "excess amount" and it may be taxed. If you over-participate, it affects your participation room for the following year. Any excess amounts will reduce your participation room for the next year. For example, if you opened an FHSA in 2024 and contributed $10,000, your participation room for 2025 will only be $6,000. Don't wait! You will have to pay tax on any excess amount you have in your FHSA every month. Take swift action to resolve the issue – don't let your growth be impacted by taxes! More on this below. Fix your over-participation as soon as possible If you made contributions from your income or other sources to your FHSA, you can make a designated withdrawal to reduce the excess and get your account back within the annual limit. Pro tip: To make a designated withdrawal, fill out form RC727 and give it to your financial institution. If you transferred into your FHSA from your RRSP, you can make a designated transfer to return the excess amount to your RRSP. Pro tip: To make a designated transfer, you also need to fill out form RC727 and give it to your financial institution. You can also remove the excess from your FHSA by withdrawing that amount, but when you do this, it will be considered a taxable withdrawal. Just like it sounds, that means you have to pay income tax on the amount you remove, because it is now considered income. If you have an excess FHSA amount, you have to report it by filling out form RC728 and form RC728-SCH-A. This will determine how much tax you need to pay. If you don't file these forms on time, the CRA may send you a notice of assessment. Pro tip: Sign up for email notifications in your CRA account to get notified every time the CRA sends you mail. Use the Canada Revenue Agency's FHSA estimators There are two FHSA estimators. The first gives you an idea of how much you could save for a down payment, including possible investment growth. The second looks at your potential tax savings, based on your yearly taxable income and province or territory of residence. The estimators have built-in limits to reflect the annual participation room of $8,000 and the $40,000 lifetime limit. These are great tools to try out when planning your FHSA participation. Looking for more information? FHSA statistics for 2023 are available on including how many people opened accounts, the average balance, and the total value of all active accounts. Data for the 2024 tax year is being processed and will be added to this page when available. Black Mammoth Metals Samples up to 717 g/t Silver with 210 g/t Average at Amador, NV

BMM: TSX-V VANCOUVER, BC, July 22, 2025 /CNW/ - Black Mammoth Metals Corporation (TSXV: BMM) (OTC: LQRCF) ("Black Mammoth" or the "Company") is pleased to report assay results from the recently completed rock chip sampling program conducted at its Amador Silver property ("Amador" or the "Property") situated in Lander County, Nevada and is located on the west side of the Toiyabe Range, approximately 7.3 km (4.54 miles) north of the historic silver mining town of Austin. The silver mineralization is hosted in a quartz vein shear which appears to have been developed along a contact zone of Devonian sediments (Slaven Chert) with plutonic intrusive. Previous operators have reported 3-to-12-meter drill intervals of significant silver mineralization, which have not been followed up to date. Black Mammoth's sampling program along the exposed quartz shear and from the nearby historic mining dumps consisted of 19 rock chip samples. A multi-element assay package was then used with the objective to confirm historical sample results and to assess the silver potential of the Property. As a result, the 19 rock samples had silver contents that averaged 210.3 g/t (6.76 oz/t), ranging from 1.7 g/t to 717 g/t (23.04 oz/t) (see Table 1 & Figure 1), accompanied by strong trace element contents with As up to 3350 ppm, as well as Sb (484 ppm) and Se (94.1 ppm) with most exposures near the historic mining locations and along the range-front (see Figures 2 & 3). Based on the results of the new rock samples, estimated thickness and strike-length of the quartz vein shear, the Company is encouraged to continue with further exploration. Since additional silver mineralization is suspected to continue down-dip under cover to the east and can potentially be down dropped along the range-front fault in the west, the Company intends to conduct an induced polarization survey to determine the best locations for a first phase drilling program. Acquisition Terms (in USD) and Claims Staking: Black Mammoth optioned 5 federal mining claims covering the key ground at Amador (the "Option") from a private vendor in March 2024 by making an aggregate of $25,000 in cash payments (paid). These claims were considered a non-core asset, and they are now 100% owned by Black Mammoth. The Company has since staked additional claims at Amador with its' claims position now totaling approximately 172 hectares (425 acres). The Amador claims are administered by the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forestry Service. There are no royalties, work commitment amounts, finder's fees or share compensation in connection with the Option. The Company continues to acquire non-core exploration interests in the western US, by purchase and by staking. About Black Mammoth Metals Corporation: In the past 18 months, Black Mammoth Metals has acquired 100% interest in: Big Bear Copper property, Gila County, AZ. Zulu Gold property, Gila County, AZ. Northern Star property, La Paz County, AZ. Coal Canyon Gold property, Pershing County, NV. Island Mountain Gold District (including Coleman Canyon, St. Elmo and Diamond Jim (Ag, Pb, Zn, Sb)), Elko County, NV. Clover High-Grade Gold property, Elko County, NV. Leadore Silver-Lead-Rare Earth Elements property, Lemhi County, ID. East Reveille Gold property, Nye County, NV. America Mine Gold property, San Bernardino, CA. Quito Gold property, Lander County, NV. South Ravenswood Gold District (including the Raven, and Happy Cat properties) Lander County, NV. (Happy Cat was purchased prior to 18 months ago). Callaghan Gold District (including North Callaghan, Charlie, Cottonwood and Rast properties), Lander County, NV. Black Mammoth also has a 100% interest in the Blanco Creek Gold property in the Elk Creek Mining District, central Idaho, which hosts three historic underground mines along 3,550 meters (11,644 feet) of strike on the north-east trending regional Blanco Shear Zone. Quality Assurance/Quality Control: All sampling is conducted under the supervision of the Company's project geologists and the samples are taken to the ALS Laboratory (ALS) in Reno or Elko, Nevada for preparation and analysis. The ALS PREP-31 package was utilized for sample preparation. In this package, each sample is crushed to better than 70%, passing 2mm, then a 250-gram riffle split is then taken. This split is pulverized to a target of 85% passing 75 microns; and a 30-gram portion of this pulverized split is digested by Four Acids. A 41-element suite is run on the sample using the ALS ME-MS 41 multielement package. This method utilizes Aqua regia digestion followed by low detection ICP-MS (Induced Coupled Plasma) finish. Overlimit silver samples were processed using ALS' OG46 Aqua Regia digestion followed by ICP-AES analysis. ALS Laboratories have ISO 9001 and 17025 accreditations. Black Mammoth Metals Corp's QA/QC program includes regular insertion of CRM standards, duplicates and blanks into the sample stream with a stringent review of all results. ALS also undertakes their own internal coarse and pulp duplicate analysis to ensure proper sample preparation and equipment calibration Mark J. Abrams, CPG #11451, a Qualified Person as defined under National Instrument 43-101 - Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (" NI 43-101") and director of Black Mammoth, has reviewed and approved the technical content in this release.
