Pitch invasion STOPS Celtic trophy presentation in Cork

Pitch invasion STOPS Celtic trophy presentation in Cork

Glasgow Timesa day ago
Brendan Rodgers' side won the pre-season friendly encounter 2-1 thanks to goals from Luke McCowan and a late header by Colby Donovan to score the winner.
In the Irish sun, a packed-out crowd watched on in anticipation to see the Scottish Premiership champions in action.
But after the full-time whistle had sounded, some young, eager fans could not contain their excitement, as they invaded the pitch to get up close with their heroes.
Hundreds of youngsters streamed onto the field as the match organisers prepared to hand the trophy to Hoops skipper Callum McGregor.
It was all taken in good spirits by the Celts stars and staff, with Rodgers & Co. happy to pose for photos and high-fives with the kids.
However, it soon became clear that the trophy presentation had been cancelled as a result of the mass pitch invasion.
And so, Celtic's players and staff continued to mingle with those who had made their way onto the pitch before heading for the away dressing room in Cork after another productive pre-season workout.

'I plan on staying unbeaten against her.' Serrano and Taylor will meet for a third time at Madison Square Garden. When asked what she planned on improving in the latest rematch, Seranno said: 'I'm gonna use my head, but not the way it was used on me. 'We're going to be smarter, work smarter.' During their last fight, Serrano received a bad cut above her eye in the fourth round, which was attributed to an accidental headbutt. Taylor was deducted a point in the eighth round after repeatedly being warned against leading with the head. Serrano herself asked Taylor why she would opt to take a third fight and disrupt her winning streak. 'I'm taking the fight again because I love the challenge of this,' Taylor said. 'I don't think it really matters that I'm 2-0, I just want to take the biggest challenges, the biggest fights.' The pair's November encounter was a brutal back-and-forth affair through 10 rounds, which mirrored their classic initial meeting at Madison Square Garden in 2022. Taylor and Serrano embraced each other after the bell, but the heavily pro-Serrano crowd voiced their displeasure as the result was announced.
