Family-sized tent worth £736 now slashed by over £550 in time for summer
Along with the warmer months comes festival and camping season, and it's important for campers to be adequately kitted out to face the changeable Scottish weather when camping. But while good camping gear can get super expensive, this Berkfield Home 9-Person Blue Dome Waterproof Tent has landed a massive discount thanks to Debenhams' spring sale.
This family tent from Debenhams boasts a modern look, protecting happy campers from the unpleasant weather- which we see plenty of in Scotland- and provides a comfortable place for any adventure. Ideal for festivals, woodland camping or nights on the beach, this tent features an all-around waterproof design as it's made from polyester with a PU coating, reports The Mirror.
Normally costing £736, this nine-person tent is now up for grabs for the massively reduced price of £184, saving shoppers a whopping £552. Its taped seams effectively prevent rainwater infiltration, while the heavy-duty ground sheet helps maintain a dry and comfortable interior, so shoppers will never have to worry about getting drenched in the night.
Armed with a detachable rainfly, which can be attached to the tent's top for weather protection and privacy, this heavy duty piece of camping gear offers good ventilation and mosquito protection, ensuring protection from the elements as well as the insects.
It features mesh walls that not only offer ventilation, perfect if this tent is used at full capacity, but also effectively keep insects at bay, ensuring a comfortable and bug-free experience no matter where the tent is set up.

The hugely discounted Debenhams tent currently has no reviews as of yet, which may put some people off buying it.
However, over on Trustpilot, many have left general reviews of the site, the quality of their products and their customer service.
One positive review reads: "Have ordered through Debenhams online a few times now and can honestly say it's been excellent.
"Ordering is simple and straightforward, all products received in a timely manner and very affordable prices. Will definitely be my 'Go to' site from now on."
But not everyone is so pleased with the Debenhams online site, as a less happy shopper said they waited over a month for a refund after returning two items.
They said: "It always amazes me how companies take your money instantly but seriously drag their feet on refunds.
"It has certainly put me off buying again. Sorry Debenhams, that really long return has let you down and therefore only 3 stars."
But another customer was pleased, saying: "I've always loved Debenhams especially in store. On line is just as good so I cannot understand the low star rating on [Trustpilot], great choice of products in all sectors, quick delivery & free if over a certain amount.
"I don't know what people want for their money these days! I'll always support this company."

‘It could have killed us', Scots family have shock encounter with a BEAR on US road trip
One of them ended up trapped in the car CLOSE CALL 'It could have killed us', Scots family have shock encounter with a BEAR on US road trip Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SCOTTISH family had a shocking close encounter with a bear while on a dream holiday in the US. The Fergusons, from Airdrie in North Lanarkshire, were touring across parts of America when they had the run in with the furry beast. While they were packing up their car, a curious black bear climbed into the boot of the car. Members of the family were sent scrambling, including some who were inside the motor when the clawed growler clambered in. One member of the family is seen fleeing the motor as the beast made its appearance. They were left panicking on the porch of their rental cabin as the bear rummaged through their car. It was throwing their cases from the open boot of the 4x4 and even made its way to the front seats of the motor. One of them turned on the vehicle's car alarm in an attempt to scare away the four-legged predator. The repeated blasts of the horn seemed to do the trick as the bear wandered off. Grace Sloan, 18, was with her boyfriend Logan Ferguson, 19, on his family's two week road trip through Tennessee, Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, North Carolina, and Alabama. She reckons the family are lucky to be alive after the encounter. Tragic biker tourist mauled to death by brown bear moments after taking smiling selfie and vid with ferocious wild beast She told how Logan's uncle Johnny fled the motor but his dad Paul was trapped inside and had to climb over the seats to escape. Grace told The Daily Record: "We were all panicking not knowing what to do. 'If the bear had hurt anyone, I don't know what we would have done. "I'm still shocked. It could have killed one of us and Paul and Johnny are lucky to be alive in that way.' Black bears are quite common in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, with just under 2,000 bears expected to be living in the park. Bear encounters are normally quite high during from May to August inside the picturesque national park. The US National Park Service said: "Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the largest protected areas in the eastern United States where black bears can live in wild, natural surroundings. Bears inhabit all elevations of the park. Though populations are variable, biologists estimate that roughly 1,900 bears live in the park. "This equals a population density of approximately two bears per square mile." They added: "Black bears in the Smokies are black in color, but in other parts of the country they may be brown or cinnamon. "They may be six feet in length and up to three feet high at the shoulder. "During the summer months, a typical adult male bear weighs approximately 250 pounds while adult females are generally smaller and weigh slightly over 100 pounds. However, bears may double their weight by the fall. "Bears over 600 pounds have been documented in the park. Bears can live 12-15 years or more, however bears which have had access to human foods and garbage have a life expectancy of only half that time."

Scotland's best beaches for summer 2025 named as 'special' spot tops list
Seven bays around the country were singled out. Scotland's best beaches for 2025 have been named, with a Scottish Borders bay described as "special" topping the list. Holiday experts at Big 7 Travel recently shared a roundup of the "most stunning Scottish beaches". A total of seven picturesque bays up and down the country were singled out. Topping the experts' list is Coldingham Bay near the town of Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders. The bay is an inlet in the North Sea coast. Coldingham Bay is a sheltered sandy beach found at the mouth of the Buskin Burn, within the St Abbs and Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve. The reserve is famed for its wealth and diversity of marine life, as well as for being the first voluntary marine reserve in Scotland. The beach itself features sand dunes and crystal clear waters, and offers opportunities for rock pooling. It has previously been recognised with a Seaside Award by Keep Scotland Beautiful and recommended by the Marine Conservation Society for its cleanliness, water quality, and management. Big 7 Travel wrote: "Quietly nestled along the Berwickshire coast, Coldingham Bay has something special about it. It's only one kilometre long, but the beach has a familial, rural feel that has a cosy warmth to it." The experts added: "Keep walking and you'll come across a 30-metre-high cliff—Yellow Craig. There are also some pretty dunes just behind the beach—they're particularly lovely in summer, when the butterflies and wildflowers come out to play." The second most beautiful beach in Scotland according to the experts is Achmelvich Bay in Sutherland. The beach is located along the country's northwest coast, three miles northwest of Lochinver and 40 miles north of Ullapool. Achmelvich Bay is among Scotland's most renowned beaches, and is a popular stopping point on the North Coast 500 scenic driving route. It was praised by Big 7 Travel for its hiking opportunities, and was described as a top swimming spot. The experts stated: "Tucked away on the rural west coast, Achmelvich Bay is undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Scotland. The sugary white sand is flanked by granite outcrops, creating a paradisiacal cove that's the perfect summer sun trap. "The sea is crystal clear and calm—perfect for swimming. As well as soaking up the supremely refreshing breeze and enjoying the view—you can see the Isles of Harris and Lewis on a clear day—there are tonnes of activities to do. "Fishing enthusiasts will love it here, there are plenty of fishing boats in the bay catching cod, haddock, whiting, and more. And it's perfect for hikers, too. The craggy, rocky landscape makes Achmelvich a fun climbing spot—make your way up to An Farad Bheag and take in the stunning views." Meanwhile, Big 7 Travel named Camusdarach Beach in Morar at number three on their list. The beach is situated just south of the estuary of River Morar, with views out over to the isles of Skye, Rum, and Eigg. The experts praised Camusdarach Beach as a top swimming destination, as well as kayaking and paddling. They suggested that visitors head to the bay on a clear day to make the most of the views. Rounding out the top five "most stunning Scottish beaches" are Oldshoremore Beach in Sutherland and West Bay in the East Lothian town of North Berwick. Oldshoremore Beach was noted for its soft sand and glistening turquoise water, while West Bay earned acclaim for its birdwatching and picnicking opportunities. Elsewhere, completing the list of seven are Gullane Beach in East Lothian and Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris. The former is located a short distance from Edinburgh and was described as "a great day out for families", and the latter was compared to beaches found in Australia. The most stunning Scottish beaches Coldingham Bay, Eyemouth Achmelvich Bay, Sutherland Camusdarach Beach, Morar Oldshoremore Beach, Sutherland West Bay (North Berwick), East Lothian Gullane Beach, East Lothian Luskentyre Beach, Isle of Harris
