At least 24 people have died in Kerr County, and one person has died in Kendall County, after the catastrophic floods hit central Texas on Friday, July 4, CNN reported.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said in a press conference that 23 girls remain unaccounted for out of 750 from Camp Mystic, a Christian girls-only summer camp near the Guadalupe River, per Dallas outlet WFAA. (Floods in the river caused it to reach its second-highest height ever, according to ABC affiliate Eyewitness News.)
One of the girls currently unaccounted for is Hadley Hannah, 8, of Dallas, her mother told WFAA. Hannah's father is currently on the ground searching for her in Kerr County, according to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth.
Eloise Peck and Lila Bonner of Dallas also remain missing, per the outlet. The friends were reportedly staying in the same cabin with several others, who are also unaccounted for, at the time of the flooding, according to the New York Post.
Camp members Lila Bonner, Kellyanne Lytal, Molly DeWitt, Janie Hunt and Lainey Landry are also missing, according to various family members, KSAT, Fox 26 Houston and CNN reported.
'We are just praying,' Hunt's mother told CNN after learning of her daughter's disappearance.
Greta Toranzo and Virginia Hollis, who both attended the camp, also remain unaccounted for, WANE 15 reported.
Toranzo is a student at Sinclair Elementary, the school confirmed in a post shared on Instagram.
'We are devastated to share that one of our Sinclair students is missing from Camp Mystic in the Kerr County Floods,' the school wrote.
'Her parents have asked that her picture be shared far and wide as they search for her. Please keep Greta and her family in your thoughts," the caption continued.
KSAT previously reported that there was an overnight evacuation of Camp Mystic after the flooding.
In a statement on July 4, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the state 'is providing all necessary resources to Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt and the entire Texas Hill Country dealing with these devastating floods.'

A group of Florida lawmakers were denied entry on Thursday into the new Florida-based immigration jail dubbed 'Alligator Alcatraz' one day after the first immigrant detainees began to arrive. Five Democratic lawmakers attempted to enter the facility, which was previously toured on Tuesday by White House officials, but were stopped by law enforcement officers from local agencies, according to the state representative Anna Eskamani in an interview with CNN.
