Kellogg's starts investment that will create 130 jobs in North Wales
Investment has started in a Kellogg's factory in North Wales that will create 130 jobs. Kellanova, which runs the cereal giant, this week released images of the new All-Bran Fibre Plus in production at its cereal factory in Wrexham.
All-Bran has been produced at Wrexham since the factory first opened in 1978. After enhancements at the site, the cereal will now be made using the latest technology which reduces production time, reducing the energy required to make the fibre-rich shreds.
The move is the first part of a £75m investment in the factory, announced last October. As well as improvements on the All-Bran production line, two new advanced lines will be installed in the coming months to support the transition of other iconic Kellogg's cereals, including Corn Flakes and Crunchy Nut, to Wrexham.
These are moving from their plant in Greater Manchester which is due to close next year. An additional 130 jobs are being created in Wrexham as a result of the investment, which will see cereal production at Wrexham more than double to around 1.5 million boxes a day.
Kellanova's UK Managing Director, Chris Silcock, said: 'It's great to see new All-Bran Fibre Plus running off the production lines at Wrexham, marking a major milestone in our ongoing investment at the site.

Llandudno seafront venture aims to honour town's Victorian legacy
A small family business is hoping to get licensing permission for a sauna and 'sea dipping' venture on Llandudno 's West Shore. Conwy 's general licensing committee is set to consider a request on Monday (21 July) that would allow the operators — Pethi Sauna— to run electric sauna sessions from Dale Road Car Park, West Shore, near the Coast Watch Cabin. The proposal would require a change in the street's current designation from "prohibited" to "consent", allowing trading to take place. The applicants, a local couple with ties to the area, say they want to create a quiet, sustainable space for residents and tourists to unwind. In a statement submitted ahead of the meeting, the team behind the venture describe their business as 'a mobile, all-electric sauna designed with care for the local environment and heritage". They claim the 'sleek, modern-looking' sauna, which is still under construction, would run on 'green energy', produce zero emissions, and operate up to five days a week, offering bilingual group or private sessions lasting between 50-80 minutes. Up to eight people would be allowed per session, with sea dipping permitted at users' 'own risk', in line with other coastal sauna operators. The applicants also pledge to employ and train local staff, work with nearby cafés, therapists, and fitness providers, offering a 'pay it forward' scheme for those unable to afford sessions. Llandudno councillor Louise Emery is among those said to support the scheme. The business says the proposal could help Llandudno re-establish itself as a destination for sustainable wellness tourism, pointing to similar ventures in Gwynedd, Anglesey, and Ireland that have proven popular with both locals and councils. The company says: 'Llandudno was once a celebrated Victorian spa town, attracting visitors to its sea air and wellness treatments. 'Our electric sauna continues this legacy with a modern, sustainable twist. It offers a peaceful space for people to unwind and reconnect with nature, themselves, and the landscape.' The statement added: 'Small-scale health-focused experiences like sauna bathing can help re-establish Llandudno as a destination for sustainable well-being tourism.' Members of the licensing committee will now decide whether to lift the current trading restriction and grant the necessary consent for the sauna to operate.

'Our £325k family home on Anglesey could be all yours for just £5'
An Anglesey couple have put their home in an online raffle where people could win their coastal retreat for a £5 stake. John and Jennie Bailey and their two children are looking to move from the two bedroom apartment in the seaside village of Rhoscolyn to a larger nearby bungalow to accommodate their growing family. But they've decided to try an unconventional way of selling the property - which is valued at £325,000. Rather than the usual approach of placing the home on the market they have teamed with Raffall, a UK-based company often used for property raffles. This has seen people given the opportunity to buy £5 raffle tickets to secure a chance to win the home. If the 150,000 ticket sales target is reached then one lucky winner will get the property. If the target is not reached by January 1 2026 then the draw is still held and the winner gets 50% of the pot. Jennie, 43, mum to Henry, 11, and Sebastian, nine, said it is a wonderful opportunity for someone to win a home in a dream location and they will be sad to leave the place. She wants local businesses to get involved in the promotion as they can get a 75p cut in each raffle ticket sold with no cost to themselves. In total the couple need to sell 150,000 tickets for the sale to go through. This would raise a total of £750,000 but Jennie that is not what they would receive. She said: "There are a lot of costs to pay, we will do the stamp duty, potentially for a second home purchase, and the legal costs, Raffall get 10% and then we have significant marketing costs for all of this. Also when we have affiliates selling tickets they get that 75p cut per ticket. "There is a lot of marketing needed to get the sales and we have to be careful not to overspend or this could end up costing us. We started this two weeks ago and so far we have had 4,500 sales." She added: "This really is a once in a lifetime chance for people to live or holiday in a magical place by the sea. "We're only moving round the corner as we love it so much in Rhoscolyn, so we can't wait to see our home enjoyed by a new family and for them to build their own memories here.'
