Funds will be released to expedite PRLIS: Telanagan Dy CM Bhatti
HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday alleged that the BRS leaders, when they were in power, looted the state like bandits.
Referring to BRS MLC K Kavitha's recent remarks against her own party leaders, he said: 'Even their own family members are now exposing the BRS leaders.'
The deputy CM was addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation for 12 sub-stations at Devarakadra. He emphasised that real democracy is being upheld now with funds being spent on public welfare under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Efforts are being made to transform Telangana into a globally competitive state, he added.
After laying the stone for 12 sub-stations, he said that the government will fast-track the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme works by releasing required funds.
He also announced that funds for R&R and land acquisition would be released immediately. 'The gap between the Narlapur and Edula reservoirs will be filled with necessary funding,' he said and recalled that when `70 crore was needed for the Uddandapur R&R package, the government released them without any hesitation.
Referring to Krishna river water, he said the people of Palamuru region dreamed of utilising these waters, which is why they demanded a separate state. 'But during their 10-year rule, the previous rulers couldn't provide irrigation even to a single acre,' he said.
The deputy CM also said that all major irrigation projects in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district — Jurala, Koilsagar, Bheema, Nettempadu, and Kalwakurthy — were completed by the Congress governments.
'If the previous Congress government had given permission for the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, then in June 2015, KCR laid the foundation at Karivena and promised to complete it in three years. It's been 10 years... why couldn't he provide water?' he asked.
Vikramarka hailed the free RTC bus travel scheme for women across the state and wondered why the 'financially sound' BRS government failed to implement it earlier.
He said the current people's government aims to turn one crore women into crorepatis within five years. 'As part of this, within the first year of our rule, `21,000 crore interest-free loans have been given to self-help groups.' he said.
'You don't need to be an MLA to do business or get contracts,' he said and added, 'You need to elect MLAs who will raise the people's voice in the Assembly and protect democratic values. I congratulate the people of Mahbubnagar for electing such representatives.'

Congress gears up for show of strength on July 4
Hyderabad: The Congress party has geared up for a public meeting to be held in the city on July 4, in which AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge will attend as the chief guest. While the public meeting will be held during the evening hours, a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) has also been scheduled on the same day at Gandhi Bhavan prior to the public meeting at L B Stadium.

KTR slams Shah for inaction over Cong's corruption allegations
Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has demanded to know why the BJP-led Centre has failed to order an investigation into the corruption allegations against the Congress government in Telangana. Reminding Shah of his own earlier remarks in Nizamabad—where he labelled the Revanth Reddy-led government an 'ATM' for the Congress high command— Rama Rao questioned, 'Why hasn't the Union Home Minister acted upon it? What is stopping the Centre from initiating a probe through the CBI or ED?' Alleging a covert understanding between the BJP and Congress, KTR stated, 'In Delhi, they stage a mock fight. In Telangana, they strike secret deals. Is BJP shielding Revanth Reddy because it cannot take on BRS alone?' He recalled that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had once accused the Congress of running a 'RR Tax' scam in Telangana, yet no investigation was initiated. 'If you only make allegations during visits but allow Congress to loot in broad daylight, what message are you sending to the people?' he asked. The BRS leader also took strong exception to what he described as an orchestrated campaign to defame the Kaleshwaram Project, a landmark irrigation initiative that he said played a pivotal role in making Telangana the top rice-producing state in the country. 'It is unfortunate that a landmark initiative like Kaleshwaram is being targeted purely for political gain,' he said. On the BJP's developmental record in the state, KTR noted, 'Despite having eight BJP MPs and two Union Ministers from Telangana, not a single project has been given national status. No IIT, IIM, or central medical institute has been granted. This discrimination has not gone unnoticed.' He also ridiculed the Centre's repeated 'launches' of the Turmeric Board, pointing out that Union Minister Piyush Goyal had already virtually inaugurated it earlier this year. 'Now Amit Shah is cutting ribbons for the same office set up in a building constructed by former CM KCR. Not a single rupee was allocated in the budget. Even a permanent building has not been sanctioned,' he said. KTR further accused the BJP of betraying Telangana through multiple actions, including scrapping the Bayyaram Steel Plant—meant to provide employment to tribal youth—cancelling Hyderabad's ITIR project, which would have been a game-changer, and pushing forward Andhra Pradesh's Banakacharla project while curbing Telangana farmers' water rights. He also cited the privatisation of operations at the Kazipet Coach Factory, thereby dashing youth employment hopes in Warangal. 'Since coming to power at the Centre, BJP has treated Telangana with hostility. The people have rejected them before and will continue to do so,' said KTR.

NEW DELHI: IAF lost some fighter jets when it conducted strikes on nine terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK on May 7 because India's political leadership had directed that no military establishments or air defences across the border were to be attacked on that day, India's defence attache to Indonesia, Captain Shiv Kumar, said at a seminar earlier this month. The remarks by Captain Kumar, who is a colonel-rank officer from the Navy, followed an acknowledgment of IAF's initial losses by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on May 31 in Singapore but he did not specify the exact number of fighters shot down.
