Louis Tomlinson secures spot at Oasis gig in Cardiff after missing out on tickets
Louis Tomlinson secures spot at Oasis gig in Cardiff after missing out on tickets Louis Tomlinson will be in the audience for the first gig of Oasis' tour after being left empty handed when tickets first went on sale The One Direction singer has been vocal about his love for the Mancunian band (Image: CBS via Getty Images ) Louis Tomlinson has lucked out ahead of the first Oasis concert of their tour. Last year, Louis admitted he was among the thousands worldwide who failed to bag tickets for the illusive tour. In August 2024, the Manchester band left fans shocked when they announced the end of Liam and Noel Gallagher's long-standing feud. Almost 15 years to the day after their parting, the two iconic musicians set aside their differences and confirmed that Oasis was making a triumphant return. This news followed just weeks after Liam had been touring the country to mark the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Definitely Maybe. Noel famously left the Manchester rock group on August 28, 2009, stating he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer". Last year, the duo posed for several photos together, confirming the much-anticipated reunion of the band, announcing: "The great wait is over." However, one fan who missed out on tickets was former One Direction member Louis – but his luck has since turned around, reports the Mirror. From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What's On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here . The Mirror reported that the cheeky lad from Doncaster, aged 33, has found himself on the guest list for tonight's tour kick-off at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. A source close to the musician said: "Louis is a massive Oasis fan and has been quite vocal about his unsuccessful attempt to secure tickets in the queue. He's said to have landed a spot on tonight's guestlist, which promises to be one of the most thrilling concerts in music history." Article continues below Just a few days after tickets were snapped up on August 31, Louis, the 'Headlines' singer, spoke of his struggle to get tickets despite his fame. During his appearance on Sky Sports at the Italian Grand Prix on September 1, he shared: "I didn't, I was in the queue but I never got a number. I did try. I did try." Louis did however allude to the fact he hoped his fame might play to his advantage, saying, "I have my fingers crossed," in response to a Sky reporter's suggestion that he might receive some tickets. Yet, Louis isn't the only one eagerly anticipating tonight's concert. An estimated 74,500 fans are set to fill the iconic stadium to witness Oasis's first performance in 16 years. Among the dedicated fans are two who journeyed over a day to reach Cardiff for the band's reunion gig. Lachlan Weekes and Jayden Helm made the trip from Sydney, Australia, to be part of the historic event in the Welsh capital. Mr Weekes said: "We've been planning it forever. We always said that if they got back together, we'd be at that first show." Mr Helm added: "We've been lifelong fans – we're 22 and 21, so haven't really had a chance to see them before." The pair described their arduous journey: "It was a long two flights to get here, it's just over a day of travel – a long time – we're still a bit jet lagged, I think. We always said it was worth it to come, we wouldn't miss it for the world. To take time off work to come over here, it's more than worth it." They made a stop in Manchester as well, with Heaton Park featuring on their personal Oasis pilgrimage. Mr Weekes is crossing his fingers for a rendition of 'Slide Away', whereas Mr Helm mentioned he would "go crazy" if they played 'Cigarettes and Alcohol'. Cardiff's streets have been swamped by thousands of fans, who've been frequenting numerous pubs en-route to the stadium. Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Matthews makes unexpected appearance at Oasis
Meg Matthews is on hand to support Noel Gallagher at the first night of Oasis' legendary tour. A source told the Mirror: "After posting about her ex-husband for weeks, Meg Matthews had a prime seat for watching the band. She was in great spirits before the set, watching Richard Ashcroft with pals." It comes just days after Meg was forced to deny that she and Noel had decided to give their marriage another go. The 59-year-old has been sharing throwback snaps on social media, prompting fans to believe that they were back together following the breakdown of Noel's second marriage. Meg denied the speculation but insisted that she would be attending the upcoming Oasis concert in London. Taking to Instagram today, sharing a slew of old snaps of her and Noel larking about in a club, she wrote: "TODAY IS THE DAY 4th July 2025 Finally here ….OASIS REUNION TOUR, Britpop was a British music and cultural movement that peaked in the mid-1990s, characterized by a revival of British guitar pop from the 1960s and 1970s, in contrast to American grunge. "It was not just a genre, but a reactionary and patriotic cultural response, celebrating British identity, working-class roots, and everyday life. To everyone who's there when they walk on the stage at 8.15pm will be a piece of history." Referencing the photo, she added: "That night was a lot of fun can't remember what after party gig it was .. back then there was always one which I was in charge of organising through @creationrecords money and fun had no limit back then." Throughout the week, Meg has been reflecting on her former marriage to Noel in the lead-up to tonight's mammoth concert. Just yesterday, she marked the countdown with an adorable snap of herself and the rocker.
