Muscat – The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), with support from Daleel Petroleum, launched the Dhahirah Innovation Forum 2025 on Monday in Ibri.
Held under the slogan 'Dhahirah Innovates', the two-day event aims to highlight the role of innovation in economic development and social progress.
The forum was inaugurated by Najib bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Dhahirah, and features over 50 innovators from the governorate. Participants include representatives from educational institutions, student-led companies, and research projects focused on innovative and technical solutions across various fields.
The event aligns with Oman Vision 2040, emphasising the importance of innovation in economic growth and sustainability. It encourages innovators to develop solutions to scientific and technological challenges and establish businesses that support their ideas.
The opening session included a visual presentation on the role of innovation in industrial and investment sectors, particularly highlighting the contributions of young entrepreneurs and researchers.
Majid bin Khamis al Badi, Board Member of the Chamber's Dhahirah branch and Head of the Education and Innovation Committee, underscored the forum's objective.
'The forum provides a platform for innovators to showcase their ideas and scientific advancements. Innovation is a key driver of economic growth and sustainability, shaping a future built on knowledge and creativity,' he said.
He added that the Dhahirah branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to fostering a culture of innovation and supporting entrepreneurs.

The move offers employers and tourism establishments a broader and more precise set of options to define their workforce needs, contributing to improved institutional performance and the development of human resources in this vital sector. The approved list includes a variety of administrative and technical positions such as: General Manager of Hotel, General Manager of Resort, Resort Manager, Procurement Director, Safety and Security Director, IT Director, Security Director, Finance Director, Events Coordinator, Reservations Supervisor, Airport Services Representative, Guest Relations Clerk, and Audit Supervisor. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism stressed that this step reflects the ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Labour to support development in the tourism sector and create an environment conducive to growth and investment. The initiative is expected to meet the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which identifies tourism as a key pillar of economic diversification.

JAALAN BANI BU ALI: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth has launched the "Youth Initiatives Incubator 2025" in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate. This incubator is part of the ministry's continuous support for Omani youth and aims to enhance their community participation through qualitative and effective initiatives. The incubator targets owners of youth initiatives from various governorates across the Sultanate of Oman. These are non-profit youth projects specialising in specific areas and seeking to achieve a tangible social and developmental impact within the local community. The incubator focuses on developing the participating initiatives using a specialised guide. This guide aims to improve the quality of youth initiatives and enhance their capabilities in design, planning, implementation, funding, impact measurement and building sustainable partnerships.
