Three teens dead in horror head-on crash
Police suspect the group were travelling in a sedan which collided head-on with another vehicle, on a major road on the outskirts of Mackay about 10.30pm.
A girl and two teenage boys died at the scene.
'Absolutely devastated. A phone call I didn't want to get. My heart aches for you my cousin,' a woman posted online.
The crash happened on the Mackay Ring Road in the suburb of Glenella on Saturday night.
Three vehicles in total collided, with one man taken to hospital with minor leg injuries, a police spokesperson said.
Police want anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
At least 151 people have died on Queensland roads in 2025.

Teenage motorcyclist killed in western Minnesota crash
A teenage motorcyclist was killed in a crash in western Minnesota Monday afternoon, authorities said. The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. at southbound Highway 23 and Travis Road in Marshall, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The 16-year-old boy driving the motorcycle died at the scene. The other driver, a 67-year-old woman in a Subaru, was not hurt. The patrol released few other details about the crash. The teenager has not been publicly identified. Warning over police call scam as victim loses £14k
Police are warning residents about a phone scam where fraudsters pose as police officers after victims were scammed out of thousands of pounds. Devon and Cornwall Police said 12 reports, in the space of a fortnight, had been made from across Devon, with one elderly victim swindled out of £14,000. According to the force, people have been called by scammers as they are "assisting with an investigation". They are then asked to withdraw significant funds from cash machines. Residents were targeted in Exeter, Exmouth, Sidbury, Plymouth, Bradninch and Heybrook Bay between 2 and 18 July. Large police presence with 'forensics' spotted at Basildon park
A LARGE police presence has been seen at Northlands Park with reports of forensics at the scene this morning. Residents have reported seeing at least nine police cars and forensics at the popular Basildon park, near East Mayne since around 9.45am. A police cordon is also reportedly in place at the scene.
