Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli made a surprise appearance in a highly anticipated Japanese video game. Rajamouli and his son SS Karthikeya, who is also the line producer of his films, have made cameos in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, created by legendary game developer Hideo Kojima.
The game will be released globally on June 26, 2023, but a few lucky fans with early access already spotted the father-son duo in the game. Rajamouli is listed as "The Adventurer" and Karthikeya is listed as "The Adventurer's Son." Screenshots and video clips have gone viral online featuring their avatars in the game. Kojima and Rajamouli's growing creative bond
In April, Kojima posted a picture on X (formerly Twitter) of a video meeting between himself, Rajamouli and Karthikeya, with Karthikeya enthusiastically resharing this on his social media account with, "Beyond excited for this."
It is speculated that this creative collaboration has been in the works since roughly 2022, about the timing of the release of 'RRR'. During Rajamouli's promotional trip to Japan, he toured Kojima Productions and experienced a special 360-degree cinematic presentation at the game developer's studio.
