Amid Sardaar Ji 3 controversy, The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has written a letter to the makers of Border 2 to remove Diljit Dosanjh from their war drama.
The actor-singer has been facing severe criticism casting for Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3.

And now, veteran writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar has backed the singer in his recent statement. Akhtar was quoted saying, 'What can the poor guy do now? The movie was shot earlier. He didn't know something like this would happen. It's not a Pakistani's money that will be lost, it's an Indian's. So what's the point?'
The writer added, 'I think the government and the censor board should look at the situation with a little sympathy. And say that don't do this again, but since you made this film before, then release it. But it should not happen again.'
However, Mika Singh has slammed Diljit Dosanjh for featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3 amid the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
Singh shared a note on Insta-story calling Diljit a 'fake singer' without taking his name, and said country should come first for any individual.
A note which features images of Mika and Diljit reads, 'Desh pehle (Country first). Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn't going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice — especially when our nation's dignity is involved.'

Defending the actor, Shah stated that Diljit was not the one responsible for casting Hania Aamit in the movie. In his now deleted post, he wrote, 'I stand Firmly With Diljit. But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned.'
