Cornelli said the upcoming fixtures will be crucial for him to assess the capabilities of his squad and implement his footballing philosophy before heading to Tajikistan in June.

'Bhutan and Hong Kong are not in our qualifying group, but it is very important to see the level of our team at this moment because this is the only available match window," he told reporters at the opening ceremony of the Women's League Qualifying Round at the PKNS Field here today.
The national team are set to take part in the Tier 1 Tri-Nation International Series in Thimphu, Bhutan, facing Bhutan (May 31) and Hong Kong ( June 4), before travelling to the UAE for two more warm-up matches on June 20 and 22.
Cornelli said the friendlies would allow him to address weaknesses in the squad, particularly in attacking and finishing.
'I've only seen the girls in video footage matches against Indonesia, Cambodia in August, and Saudi Arabia, and we didn't score many goals.
'Of course, we need to work on that during these friendly matches so I can identify the best positions for the players and better understand where our weaknesses lie,' he said.
For the AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers, Malaysia have been placed in a challenging Group H, alongside three-time champions North Korea.

The 19-year-old from Miri delivered a commanding performance to secure a nine-shot victory at the PGM Royal Pahang Championship, held at the Pahang Royal Golf Club, finishing with a three-day total of 14-under-par 202. Mirabel was in control from start to finish in the 54-hole tournament, opening with a 67, then surging ahead with a brilliant 65 on Wednesday to take a five-shot lead into the final round. She closed with a composed two-under 70 on Thursday and was the only player in the women's field to shoot under par in all three rounds. This marks Mirabel's second career win on the PGM Tour, her first being at the Fortuner Cup in June 2023, when she was still an amateur. The win also earned her RM10,000 in prize money. Veteran pro Aretha Pan finished runner-up with a five-under 211 (68-69-74), while fellow Sarawakian Zulaikah Nasser claimed third place at even-par 216 (73-72-71). ISLAMABAD, July 31 (Bernama-dpa) -- Rescuers in Pakistan abandoned plans to retrieve the body of twice Olympic biathlon champion Laura Dahlmeier of Germany to respect her last wish and avoid risking more lives, fellow climber Thomas Huber told dpa on Thursday. Dahlmeier, 31, was swept away in a rockfall close to the summit of the 6,069 metres Laila Peak in the Karakoram mountain range on Monday, her management and local officials said. She was declared dead on Wednesday evening after air and ground operations to rescue her from the Laila Peak in the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) region was not successful. bootstrap slideshow Pakistani officials said on Wednesday that rescue teams led by international climbers and local high-altitude porters would launch a new operation to retrieve her body. "When we saw Laura's body it was clear that she (had) left us. As experienced mountain climbers we decided to not go and retrieve her body,' Huber, who's in the GB region, told dpa over the phone. 'They body was in a very difficult terrain which would have meant a great risk for the rescue team,' said Huber, also a German who was part of the team that went up to rescue Dahlmeier. Pakistan's northern region is home to several stunning peaks including some towering more than 8,000 metres high. The region attracts hundreds of mountaineers from all over the world including from Europe every year. Accidents, sometimes deadly, are common during these expeditions especially on K2 and Nanga Parbat, both 8,000 meters peaks.
