'Knifeman' tries to murder Deputy Prime Minister of Spain
Yolanda Díaz was in the street in the capital, Madrid, when the man approached and headbutted one of her security team. With him momentarily distracted, the man is said to have pulled two knives from his backpack as he approached the politician. He fled, still holding the weapons, when more police officers from the Centro Regional Police and the General Acquisition arrived on the scene - after throwing a few insults their way.
Several roads were closed in a bid to stop him and when he was cornered the man threatened to use the knife on himself. Before he was able to spill blood on Madrid's streets, he was shot with a Tazer and finally arrested.
Police later confirmed his charges were assaulting a law enforcement officer and making serious threats.

Keir Starmer says UK is ready to recognise Palestine unless Israel takes action
Keir Starmer summoned the Cabinet on Tuesday to discuss Gaza Britain is prepared to recognise the state of Palestine in September unless Israel agrees a ceasefire in Gaza, Keir Starmer has said. The Prime Minister said the Palestinian people have "endured terrible suffering" with "catastrophic failure of aid" in a statement from Downing Street. On recognition of the state of Palestine, No10 added: "He said that because of the increasingly intolerable situation in Gaza and the diminishing prospect of a peace process towards a Two State Solution, now was the right time to move this position forward. "He said that the UK will recognise the state of Palestine in September, before UNGA, unless the Israeli government takes substantive steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza, reaches a ceasefire, makes clear there will be no annexation in the West Bank, and commits to a long-term peace process that delivers a Two State Solution. " Over 250 MPs from across the Commons have signed a letter last week calling on the government to recognise a Palestinian state immediately. Last week the French President Emmanuel Macron said his government would do so at a meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York in September. But Mr Trump shot back, telling reporters at the White House last week: "What he says doesn't matter.... he's a very good guy. Tour de France chaos as police arrest knife-wielding man during cycling event
Local reports from France have claimed that police have apprehended a man who was wielding a knife during a route on the Tour de France. Michael Madsen's cause of death confirmed as star found dead at home
Reservoir Dogs actor Michael Madsen died aged 67 after he was found 'unresponsive at home'. The star, also known for his role in Kill Bill, was found in his Malibu home on Thursday morning, with his manager confirming how he died. His manager, Ron Smith, said he died from cardiac arrest and authorities said they didn't expect any foul play. "In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life," it was said in a statement.
