Seth Rollins Injures Knee At WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
A Seth Rollins knee injury led to an impromptu finish on Saturday night. Rollins competed against LA Knight at tonight's edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event in Atlanta. The match went on for a few minutes before Rollins hit a springboard senton and set up a moonsault from the middle rope on the opposite side of the ring. Knight rolled out of the way to avoid it, and Rollins landed awkwardly on his knee. He rolled to the ropes as commentary mentioned that he must have tweaked his knee. Rollins then dragged himself to the corner as the referee tried to check on him. Knight went to attack Rollins, but backed away as the referee called him off. Rollins conferenced with Paul Heyman and the referee, then the doctor came out to the ring. The doctor and Rollins spoke briefly, then Rollins pulled himself up and the match was restarted. Rollins hobbled his way over as Knight rushed him and hit the BFT. Knight immediately made the cover and raised his arms. However, he looked visibly upset about the injury and impromptu finish and could be seen yelling 'f*ck' before leaving the ring. WWE says Seth Rollins' knee is more serious than they originally thought Michael Cole addressed the injury after the match and showed a replay of the moment it happened. Cole said it seems 'much more serious than we first thought.' The Takedown on SI's Rick Ucchino also shared non-televised footage of Rollins being helped backstage: Seth Rollins is the current Men's Money In The Bank briefcase holder. He is the leader of a stable featuring Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman, and recently began a feud with LA Knight on WWE RAW. This was their first-ever singles match against each other. They previously competed against each other in the 2025 Money In The Bank match and the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble match. Catch up on everything that went down at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, including Goldberg's final match, here. CM Punk Had ‘Handshake Agreement' For 2019 WWE Return, Reveals Why It Didn't Happen
CM Punk claims he had a handshake agreement to return to WWE in 2019, so why didn't it end up happening? WWE Superstar CM Punk was a recent guest on My Mom's Basement with Robbie Fox. During the discussion, Punk claims that before the spot on Backstage came together, he had a private meeting with Vince McMahon and Triple H about returning to WWE in 2018 or 2019. Punk said the two sides had a handshake agreement for him to return, but McMahon ghosted him after the meeting. 'I think the Twitter and the internet perception is I tried to go back to WWE, and they didn't want me, so I went and did the FOX show. That's not what happened at all. I had a hilarious, clandestine meeting in the Borgata in Atlantic City with Vince (McMahon) and Triple H. I don't even know now. What is it? It's 2025. This has to be 2018 or '19, and it's just because Vince just started (calling). 'I had agents, they were telling me, 'Hey, they wanna talk to you,' and I was like, 'Whatever, I'm not interested,' and then Vince just started calling me. He was like, 'Hey! I'm eliminating the middleman,' and I was just like, 'This is insane,' and it just so happened that, 'Oh, well, I'm gonna be here.' 'Alright, we can get there.' You know, 'Okay, alright' and we had a meeting and we had a handshake agreement and then he ghosted me. CM Punk and Triple H chipped away at their problems during this meeting 'So, that's why it didn't happen. Unbelievable. I'm gonna write a book someday… It's a great story. It's a fantastic story. Yeah, that would have been probably the first time that me and Triple H probably started chipping away at any problems or drama that we had in the past. That was the first instance… Yeah (I was open to a return at the time). I was very much just like, yeah, okay. Pay me, whatever. I took some stuff personally. Like, years have gone by. Alright, I'm over it, recognized that it's a business. You don't want me to take it personally? Just pay me.' ‘The Purge' Movies May Return to Keep America Violent
During the 2010s, Blumhouse's The Purge series came out a reliable clip, and even had a TV show. It seemed to have wound down with 2021's The Forever Purge, but since then, creator James DeMonaco has decided there's at least one more story to tell in that universe. While doing press for his new horror movie The Home, DeMonaco told Bloody Disgusting he and his wife wrote a script together that's now in the hands of Blumhouse boss Jason Blum. He didn't give the whole game away, but teased it would bring back 'someone who I love and I think the audience loves,' likely referencing Frank Grillo's Leo Barnes, the Punisher-esque lead of The Purge: Anarchy and its direct follow up, Election Year, but was nowhere to be found in Forever. And as far as new material goes, DeMonaco added the script introduces 'some really amazing women. We've had some great women in the past, but real warrior women come forth here in a way that we haven't really explored on Purge night.' Of the whole script, he called it 'cool and fun, and I hope they like it. We're hoping next year would be great to shoot, maybe the end of this year if timing works out. But now it's with the powers that be, so we'll see what happens.' If a sixth Purge gets the green light, it'll be coming at the right time. There's a lot going on in America for it to satirize, and Blumhouse could use a potential pick-me-up after its last few movies this year came out to more muted reactions than expected. But the real question is, is it possible for this movie to come out before GTA 6? Want more io9 news? Check out when to expect the latest Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek releases, what's next for the DC Universe on film and TV, and everything you need to know about the future of Doctor Who.
