State Department issues worldwide caution for US travelers following Trump's Iran strikes

Fox News23-06-2025
Americans traveling abroad are being urged to exercise caution worldwide, as the war between Israel and Iran has resulted in travel disruptions globally.
The U.S. State Department issued a warning to those traveling around the world, citing the potential for demonstrations against U.S. citizens.
"The conflict between Israel and Iran has resulted in disruptions to travel and periodic closure of airspace across the Middle East," the State Department said in its Worldwide Caution advisory. "There is potential for demonstrations against U.S. citizens and interests abroad. The Department of State advises U.S. citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution."
Last week, the State Department warned U.S. travelers to not travel to places like Israel, Gaza and the West Bank because of armed conflict, terrorism and civil unrest.
The threat comes as terrorist groups, lone-actor terrorists and other violent extremists continue to plot possible attacks in those areas with little to no warning, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets and local government facilities.
Government officials in Turkey have also been cautioned to maintain a low profile and avoid personal travel to the country's southernmost provinces.
The alert issued on Sunday reads, "Negative sentiment toward U.S. foreign policy may prompt actions against U.S. or Western interests" in Turkey.
It adds that activities in the past have included demonstrations, calls for boycotts of U.S. businesses, anti-U.S. rhetoric and graffiti.
If traveling abroad, the State Department advised reviewing its website for alerts pertaining to the specific destination being visited.
The advisory comes after President Donald Trump ordered military strikes on Iran's key nuclear facilities in what officials are calling "Operation Midnight Hammer."
After the bombing, Iranian officials warned of retaliation against the U.S.
The State Department often issues alerts and travel advisories for Americans overseas.
The travel advisories range from "exercise normal precaution" to "Do Not Travel," which is reserved for parts of the world where there is ongoing conflict, ethnic or religious discrimination or where U.S. citizens are generally not welcome.
Other reasons for alerts include crime rates, health concerns and piracy in some parts of the world.

Lindsay Lohan Breaks Silence On Reason For Moving 'Far Away From Hollywood'

Lindsay Lohan's safety remains her number one priority, and not even the celebrity lifestyle in Hollywood can change that. The actress finally explained why she left the hustle and bustle of the City of Angels behind for a simpler life overseas, where everything is regular and very orderly. Lindsay Lohan married her significant other, Bader Shammas, in 2022 and welcomed their son, Luai, a year later in the United Arab Emirates. Lindsay Lohan Is A Fan Of The Strict Paparazzi Laws In Dubai The actress, who is currently on a promotion spree for her new movie "Freakier Friday" in the United States, finally got candid about the inspiration behind her abrupt decision to leave Hollywood. In her words to the host of "LIVE with Kelly and Mark": "It's just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life." She continued that everyone's privacy is valued in Dubai, and she never has to worry about her son's safety from paparazzi taking unprotected pictures. Lohan affirmed that taking photos of people without consent is a very illegal offense in the country, something that host Kelly Ripa could not believe. "You can't even take a picture of someone else if you're at a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here," reiterating on the show that privacy is highly regarded in the country. The Former Child Star Is Putting Things In Place For Her Future The star moved to Dubai in 2014, where she also met her husband. Since tying the knot with him, starting a family, and getting accustomed to life in Dubai, Lohan has learned interesting things about motherhood and life. According to The Daily Mail, Lohan revealed in May that she would love to expand her family by giving Luai a sibling to play with. According to her, the world has evolved where mothers strive to do parenting right but also make time for themselves to have fun and live life. Most importantly, having just one kid comes with a yearning to double the figure so they will not have to live alone. This expansion also comes with the mother's welfare in mind; although selfish, the movie star is particular that she would need more than a child to take care of her when she is old and gray. Lohan enjoyed the company of her family, including her husband, mother, and siblings, on the red carpet for the special screening of the "Freaky Friday" sequel in New York on Monday. Lohan Picks New York Over Los Angeles In Terms Of Comfort And Security The Hollywood icon described life in Los Angeles as one filled with mental gymnastics, where she is constantly worried about getting harassed by photographers, as InStyle shared. She also compared life in New York to Los Angeles, pronouncing a verdict that she feels unseen in the Big Apple, which is precisely how she preferred things. "In New York, there's no worry; no one bothers us. Everyone has their own thing going on. There's a different kind of energy in New York. I'd rather have downtime in New York than I would in L.A.," the star noted. While New York offers her a great cushion, her love for Dubai trumps it all, as she proudly registered her wish to spend more time in the Middle Eastern country. "We're based [in Dubai], but last year, we were there less than half the year. I want to spend more time there. It is nice to have a balance," Lohan stressed. The only thing the actress and her husband now have to worry about amid their newfound peace is where their son would start schooling once he clocks five. Ultimately, that might warrant their exodus back to the United States, but it is still all speculation until Lohan makes a solid decision. The Mother-Of-One Is Focused On Parenting And Living A Healthy Life The experience of birthing her child and watching her body go through several phases of changes is not one Lohan will forget in a hurry. Since welcoming her bundle of joy two years ago, the TV star has shifted her concerns to making sure she gives back to her body as much as it has given to her. As seen on The Blast, Lohan stated that she began the process by overhauling her skincare routine and diet through research to identify food sensitivities and change her life for the better. These hacks yielded enough results that speculations of plastic surgery began flying around about the actress; all of which she vehemently denied, emphasizing that time does not permit her to indulge in such vanities. But she has incorporated a few beauty treatments like laser facials, Botox, and an ice-cold splash every morning into her routine to help her achieve a blinding glow. "I also drink a lot of green tea, a lot of water," Lindsay admitted. "I'm a big pickled beets person, so I put them in almost everything," Lohan noted during her Elle interview. Jamie Lee Curtis Is Proud Of The Way 'Freakier Friday' Production Turned Out The actress could not hide her excitement about the decision to shoot the sequel in Los Angeles for so many reasons, according to Deadline. First, she noted that the movie will provide viewers with much-needed comfort and nostalgia in such a politically unstable and scary period. 'It makes you laugh, and you feel better watching it. And we didn't know last June where we would be today, and so I feel really happy,' Curtis added. The actress emphasized that the movie has a strong connection to Los Angeles, as the original film was also shot there, even though some of the houses featured in it were destroyed in the Palisades fire. But that disaster does not change anything. Curtis explained that more than ever, the sequel and the original will carry the memories and records of the 'beauty of the Pacific Palisades and Altadena forever.' Curtis remained proud that she stood her ground for the sequel to make a comeback to its home, adding that she feels younger and alive than she did 20 years ago when she shot the original movie. You Can Now Order a Chauffeured Rolls-Royce Rideshare Right From Your Phone

Your next car booking could be a first-class experience. Premium chauffeur service Blacklane will offer the chance to book Rolls-Royce vehicles for the first time, introducing the luxe cars as a "Platinum Class" service, according to the company. The opulent vehicles are part of the company's Middle East expansion plans and are currently only available in Dubai. However, Blacklane co-founder and CEO Jens Wohltorf said he was "excited to plan the ambitious next phase of how our new Platinum Class comes to life around the world very soon.' Each ride in Blacklane's new Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II vehicles will feature a two-tone black and white exterior and include a specially-trained professional chauffeur. The cars are known for their "appropriate level of opulence, isolation from the real world, regal bearing, and built-in exclusivity," according to Car and Driver , which estimates the vehicle can top more than $422,000 in price. To add to its lush design, the cars boast finely grained leather, wood and metal accents, a roomy backseat, and even massaging rear seats. In Dubai, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II cars will be available to book for services like airport transfers as well as for "immediate hailing" from select locations. Within the United States, travelers who book Blacklane's "First Class" service can expect to find several luxury cars, including the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and the Audi A8. The chauffeur service also offers an "Electric Class," which features the Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, and the Jaguar I-PACE, along with a "Business Class," in which travelers can expect to find the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and the Cadillac XTS. Beyond the vehicles, Blacklane said it rigorously trains its chauffeurs to specialize in customer service and safety. The company has also partnered with different travel providers to offer concierge and driver services to international clients. In 2018, Blacklane was selected to be the official chauffeur service for Emirates' first and business class passengers. For these customers traveling through New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), for example, Emirates provides a complimentary car service from the terminal to anywhere within 50 miles, allowing them to skip the long taxi lines and the rush to find an Uber or Lyft. Blacklane was started in Germany in 2011 and now operates in cities across the world with hubs in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Spain, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. In the U.S., the company has drivers in dozens of cities, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington D.C., and beyond.

This Caribbean Island Ranks Among the Safest Right Now—and U.S. Travelers Don't Even Need a Passport

One of the safest islands to visit in the Caribbean right now is so convenient, Americans don't even need a passport. Always All Inclusive, a team of Sandals Resorts experts, released the results of its Caribbean Island Safety Index 2025, which ranks the 10 most popular Caribbean destinations based on data-driven safety metrics. They analyzed data from four safety risk categories. Then, Always All Inclusive combined the results into a safety score for each island. Puerto Rico comes in at No. 6, with health care receiving the best ranking of 10 and boasting a composite score across all the categories of 7.6. Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, American citizens don't need a passport to visit the island. Aruba, Barbados, and Grenada took the top three spots respectively, with rankings of 9.3, 9.2, and 9.0. 'While Puerto Rico (#6) offers top-tier U.S.-quality health care, it's more exposed to hurricanes and moderate urban crime,' the report states. 'That said, [Puerto Rico is] generally safe for tourists, especially within resort zones.' In order to create the rankings, each destination was scored across four traveler-focused categories: U.S. State Department travel advisories, violent crime rates, hurricane frequency and resilience, and emergency health care access. The islands were each assigned a 1-10 score in each category, with 10 as the best possible score. Then, the scores were weighted based on travelers' concerns. Travel advisories and crime and tourist safety were weighted at 30%, healthcare access at 25 percent, and hurricane risk at 15 percent. The rankings only focused on the 10 most visited and commercially relevant Caribbean destinations, and deliberately left out high-risk destinations like Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, and Turks & Caicos, due to factors including inconsistent available data, ongoing political or safety issues, and limited resort-based tourism infrastructure. 'Islands like Puerto Rico and The Bahamas are frequently affected [by hurricanes], while Aruba, Curaçao, and Barbados remain largely outside the storm zone,' the report stated. 'Post-pandemic, travelers prioritize access to hospitals, urgent care, and emergency transport, which gives destinations like Barbados, Aruba, and Puerto Rico an edge.' If you're planning on visiting Puerto Rico, its high season stretches from December to April, with the shoulder season lasting from May to June and low season from July to November, which corresponds to hurricane season.
