Balika Vadhu star Avika Gor engaged to IIM graduate Milind Chandwani: Who is he?

Mint12-06-2025
Actor Avika Gor recently announced her engagement to Milind Chandwani, sharing glimpses of their intimate ceremony on social media along with a heartfelt caption.
Chandwani, an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad, began his career at the Indian tech giant Infosys and later founded the NGO Campus Diaries, which focuses on supporting underprivileged children.
In a post on X, Gor wrote, "He asked.. I smiled, I cried (in that order 🙈)…and screamed the easiest YES of my life! I'm full filmy — background score, slow-mo dreams, mascara running and all. He's logic, calm, and 'let's carry a first-aid kit just in case.'
'I manifest drama. He manages it. And somehow, we just… Fit. So when he asked, the heroine in me took over — arms in the air, tears in my eyes, and zero network in my brain. Because real love? It may not always be perfect. But, It. Is. Magical,' she added.
Avika Gor and Milind Chandwani first crossed paths in Hyderabad in 2020 through mutual friends and have been in a relationship for nearly five years. Gor has often playfully remarked that she was "married to him in (her) head" long before their feelings became mutual.
Milind Chandwani is an engineer-turned-philanthropist. After graduating from Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering in Bangalore, he began his career as a Software Engineer at Infosys, according to a report by Republic. However, he left the corporate world to work with non-profits like Teach For India and iTeach Schools, focusing on education and welfare for marginalized communities.
Currently, he serves as the CEO of Camp Diaries, an NGO that provides educational opportunities to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Milind also gained public praise through his appearance on MTV Roadies Season 17, where he was a member of Neha Dhupia's gang. Though he didn't reach the finale, his performance and personality resonated with both the audience and the show's mentors, earning him a strong youth following.
Widely known for her roles in television, Gor rose to fame with Balika Vadhu and Sasural Simar Ka. She later transitioned to films, starring in Vikram Bhatt's 1920: Horrors of the Heart (2023) and Bloody Ishq (2024). Most recently, she appeared in the Telugu crime thriller Shanmukha (2025).
A couple of days ago, actor Hina Khan, who will also be seen in COLORS' reality TV show, tied the knot with boyfriend Rocky Jaiswal.
I manifest drama. He manages it. And somehow, we just… Fit.
Announcing their sacred union, Hina and Rocky in a joint Instagram post wrote, 'From two different worlds, we built a universe of love. Our differences faded, our hearts aligned, creating a bond to last lifetimes. We are our home, our light, our hope and together, we transcend all barriers. Today, our union is forever sealed in love and law. We seek your Blessings and Wishes as Wife and Husband.'

The match was to feature some of the biggest cricketing stars from past India and Pakistan teams who have now retired from the game, including Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Afridi, Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, among others. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The upcoming India-Pakistan game at WCL 2025 was already facing heavy criticism from Indian cricket fans, who called out former Indian legends like Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh for alleged "fake acting" during the recent border conflict between the two nations, but later agreed to play in the match. The WCL organisers on Sunday early morning announced that they wanted to create 'happy moments' with the match as sporting ties between the two countries had already resumed, but have now decided to call it off as it led to 'discomfort' for Indian cricket legends. Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan had already announced on social media that he had pulled out of the match against Pakistan, while media reports stated that Harbhajan Singh, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan had also withdrawn from the WCL game. Jo kadam 11 May ko liya, uspe aaj bhi waise hi khada hoon. Mera desh mere liye sab kuch hai, aur desh se badhkar kuch nahi hota. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳 — Shikhar Dhawan (@SDhawan25) July 19, 2025 'Jo kadam 11 May ko liya, uspe aaj bhi waise hi khada hoon. Dear all , — World Championship Of Legends (@WclLeague) July 19, 2025 'But maybe in the process, we ended up hurting the feelings of many and stirring emotions. 'Hence, we have decided to call off the India vs Pakistan match. 'We sincerely apologise again for hurting the sentiments and hope people will understand that all we ever wanted was to bring a few happy moments to the fans.' The India vs Pakistan match in World Championship of Legends 2025 was to be the first cricket contest between the two nations since the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, in which 26 people were killed, leading to retaliatory attacks on terror camps by India, which was named Operation Sindoor. Comedian Kapil Sharma took to his Instagram account to share the news of the cafe reopening. He expressed his happiness by writing "Proud Of You Team' for the staff of Kap's Cafe while sharing a post from the cafe's Instagram handle. On July 10, several gun shots rang outside Kap's Cafe in Surrey at 1:50 (local time) am, according to Surrey Police Service. Police said some staff members were present inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting. No one was injured in the incident. The cafe had opened early this week. At least 10 bullet holes could be seen in a window at Kap's Cafe, while another window pane was shattered. The building where the cafe is located has retail units at ground level and residential apartments above, however, it is not known how many residents live in the building. Multi faith centre and two other yet to be opened businesses occupy other ground-level units. Officers could be seen in the restaurant gathering evidence while children were playing across the street outside a daycare located in Newton neighbourhood that is now cordoned off by police tape, Vancouver Sun reported. The staff of 'Kap's Cafe' described the incident as "heartbreaking" and stated that they were "shocked" by the unexpected firing at the restaurant premises. The cafe also thanked the entire community for all the messages they had received and extended gratitude to the Surrey, British Columbia, police department for all their help in the matter. Kap's Cafe shared a long, heartfelt note after the incident. Titled 'A Message From Heart', the cafe wrote, "We opened Kap's Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up." The cafe said that they will stand "firm" against the violence to keep the place a symbol of "warmth and community" for its visitors. "Thank you for Your Support. Your kind words, prayers, and memories shared via DM mean more than you know. This cafe exists because of your belief in what we're building together. Let's stand firm against violence and ensure Kap's Cafe remains a place of warmth and community," wrote Kap's Cafe. Spokesperson Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said police are aware of reports in Indian media claiming that a Khalistani separatist has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
