When it comes to sleep, getting the proper amount is crucial for maintaining both mental and physical health. The NHS recommends that the average adult should aim for seven to nine hours of sleep per night, though some individuals may require more.
However, many find it challenging to fall asleep and persistent sleep difficulties can begin to affect one's social interactions and personal relationships.

With that in mind, Martin Kemp has shared his unique method for nodding off – reciting a monologue. He disclosed this technique on the FFS! My Dad is Martin Kemp podcast, following his son Roman's admission of being "too stressed" to sleep.
The ex-Spandau Ballet bassist said: "What you need to do Ro, is learn something like a poem or a monologue. This is what I do, every single night when I go to bed, I will get in my bed and close my eyes and say this monologue I had on stage when I was acting.
"It was from a play I did called Million Dollar Quartet, about Elvis, and there's a monologue I have which is two minutes long on stage, and I will say that every night."

Roman quipped that it "must have been a boring play", to which Martin humorously agreed, saying "it was", implying that it put the audience to sleep. However, he quickly clarified: "The play was really good. It was a musical all about Elvis. It was good."
The Million Dollar Quartet is a depiction of an impromptu recording session that brought together Elvis Presley with fellow icons Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash at the Sun Records Studios in Memphis in 1956. This unexpected gathering led to the creation of a series of collaborative tracks.

NHS guidance on sleep health
The NHS acknowledges that sleep issues can be quite common, often triggered by shifts in our personal or professional lives. While sporadic sleepless nights are "nothing to worry about", it becomes problematic if it persists, reports Surrey Live.
The health service warned: "Longer stretches of bad sleep can do the opposite and have a negative impact on our physical and mental health or wellbeing. Not getting enough sleep is sometimes described as being sleep deprived, or called 'sleep deprivation', 'sleeplessness' or 'sleep inefficiency'."
To enhance sleep quality, the NHS recommends six strategies:

‘There's no tiff'! Trainer reacts to Kia Joorabchian removing record £4.6m buy from stable

The Amo Racing principal moved several of his string away from Ralph Beckett, including a filly by Frankel who was the most expensive yearling sold at auction in Europe last year Top trainer Ralph Beckett has reacted to football agent Kia Joorabchian removing several horses from his stable, insisting, 'There's no tiff.' ‌ Amo Racing principal Joorabchian has spent millions on bloodstock to fulfil ambitions to build a team capable of competing with the biggest powers in horse racing, including Coolmore and Godolphin. At last autumn's thoroughbred yearling sales he spent £8 million on the opening day of the Tattersalls Book 1 auction on three new signings, including £4.6m on a filly by super stallion Frankel. ‌ The Frankel filly was put into training with last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe-winning trainer Ralph Beckett but was recently transferred to the yard of Kevin Philippart de Foy, who is now in charge of the ex-Sir Michael Stoute Newmarket stables which are owned by Amo, along with several others. ‌ Last year's Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me, who has raced once since bought by Amo for £5 million, remains in training with Beckett. Joorabchian took ten horses away from Beckett four years ago during Glorious Goodwood when the owner said the pair were 'not seeing eye to eye'. The latest transfer of the Frankel filly, who had been named Partying, follows the switching of Ghostwriter, bought for £2m before Royal Ascot, who has also joined Philippart de Foy from Clive Cox. Beckett, speaking about the moves to ITV Racing, said: 'There's no tiff. Moving unraced two-year-olds midway through the season is unusual but Kia is an unusual individual. 'When we split four years ago at this meeting, at that moment I was happy to see them go. They went at my instigation that time. Then he sent me a yearling. I said I'd take one, then all of a sudden I end up with six.' He continued, 'So there is no fall out, no tiff. Kia's Kia, we move on.' Beckett added he would welcome 'one or two' Amo Racing horses in the future, but not 'six or seven'. Joorabchian, who has admitted 2025 has been disappointing so far, saw his team on the scoresheet at Goodwood when Aylin, jointly owned by Al Shaqab Racing, won a maiden fillies' stakes on Thursday. The Karl Burke-trained filly had been a £630,000 purchase last year. On Saturday the team will be represented in the US when Tiberius Thunder tackles the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby Invitational. Frankie Dettori has been booked for the mount.

While I Wait For That Zara Polka Dot Jacket To Return – Here's Other Windbreakers I Rate

Zara is killing it right now. It was only last week I was telling everyone about my quest to find that viral £50 satin lace cami dress, now, I'm frantically refreshing the site to find another item. This time, it's thepolka dot jacket that's been such a hit since launching a few days ago, it's already sold out online. But fear not, friends, as I'm here to tell you that there's still lots of sizes available in multiple stores around the UK. And while you can't buy it directly online from the link I'm about to share (sorry) you can use it to check if there's one in a store near you. If you're not keen for an IRL search, or simply can't face the thought of a queue, you'll also be pleased to know Zara head office have kindly let me know that it will be restocked very shortly. Vague, I know, and believe me, I wish I had an exact date and time it was dropping so I could add it to my basket before the other fashion girls do. 1. Zara Polka Dot Puffer Jacket Again, please don't be annoyed when you click on this link and see the dreaded 'out of stock' sign. Instead, be happy that you can use it for the 'check in-store availability' option where you'll be able to see if there's one to snap up near you IRL. We can basically thank Miu Miufor the revival of technical jackets. Seen on the spring/summer 2025 catwalk, fashion-meets-function zip-up styles were paired with everything from pleated skirts (as seen below) to bloomer micro shorts. And while I won't be wearing the latter, I am fully invested in these sporty jackets that work well juxtaposed with everyday pieces I already have in my wardrobe. Also, given the fact the weather forecast seems to be changing by the minute at the moment, I'm all for a light, throw-on-and-go layer that'll work for when it's hot, but unpredictable. And this is where the Zara style comes in. Not only is it in the print of the season (yes, there's no escaping all things spotty), it's also the perfect slightly oversized shape, and has a drawstring hem along with high funnel neck to keep out windy weather. PARIS, FRANCE - OCTOBER 01: A model walks the runway during the Miu Miu Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show as part of the Paris Fashion Week on October 01, 2024 in Paris, France. (Photo by Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images) When it comes to how to style this polka dot windbreakerjacket, fashion people have all agreed it looks best worn zipped up as a top. So this basically solves any getting ready woes on your way to work. I also love how Elena Lenaro (below) has taken on that unlikely outfit formula rule by teaming the zip-up jacket with shorts, heels and a fancy bag. Who knew a sporty jacket could work so well for a dinner date? But if you want to know another reason why everyone is going wild for this jacket, it's also due to the fact it's a co-ord– yes, that's right, you can also get matching polka dot shorts. And we all know the joy of a matching set is that they need little effort to look put together. See how Stacey (below) has worn hers on TikTok with knee-high flat boots? This is a key styling hack when knowing what to wear when it's hot but rainy. While I wait not-so-patiently for the Zara polka dot version to come back online, I wanted to show you some of the other windbreaker styles I rate. And yes, of course it includes that other viral £50 style from Uniqlo that's also selling out super quick. 2. Uniqlo Windproof Blouson Jacket While the off-white style has been most popular with fashion insiders (there's still a few sizes left online, FYI) the black, navy and olive green are also so classic. Water-resistant and wind-proof, it's the lightweight style you'll be grabbing as you leave the house every day from now on. 3. ASOS DESIGN Funnel Neck Sports Shirt Price: $62 Although listed as a shirt, I would say this is very much a jacket and shirt hybrid. The funnel neck and drawstring waist is very similar to the Zara viral style, but I love how it has smarter buttons and a more tailored fit. And it's in the key colours this season – butter yellow + chocolate brown. 4. Ganni Leopard Print Nylon Jacket A different kind of spot, this leopard print Ganni jacket is firmly on my wish list. I fully appreciate the oversized fit on this one, perfect for layering later on in the year. Leopard not your thing? You can also get it in black or khaki. 5. Lululemon Always Effortless Classic-Fit Jacket Quite literally designed for those in-betweeny weather days we've been having, this clever jacket has an air vent at the back so you don't get sweaty, a packable hood in case it rains (it's also water-resistant) and a drawstring waist so you can keep out the wind. Plus, it comes in six different colors – genius. 6. Carter Check Water Resistant Shell Jacket Polka dots not your vibe? Then try checks instead. Grunge '90s style plaid prints were all over the catwalks for spring/summer 2025, so try out the trend with this shell jacket. The water-resistant style will also be wind-proof thanks to the hood, adjustable waist and stretch cuff sleeves. 7. H&M Water-Repellant Popover Jacket Removing the need to have to do it up (I'm all for a lazy item) this pull-over style from H&M in butter yellow is so dreamy. Another wind-proof and water-resistant style, it also has a hood that packs in on itself and comes in another colour, light brown. H&M wins again. 8. Monki Windbreaker Nylon Jacket Made from recycled nylon, this brown jacket is such a nice alternative to classic black. That hood will come in so handy with an unexpected downpour and I love how it looks cinched at the waist with a mini skirt. 9. Moncler Valencay Jacket If you're fully invested in the practical jacket trend and want a style you can love for years, Moncler is the destination to find it. That doesn't mean it has to be your typical everyday colour, though, I've fallen for this blush pink water-resistant style that's made to be super light – ideal to take on the morning commute.

"This has been the most fun, emotional, gratifying, physically demanding, and, at times, grueling experience," the former NSYNC member said of his solo tour. "I could not have done it without my family, friends, The TN Kids, and all of YOUR support." Timberlake went on to reveal that he's been struggling with Lyme disease over the past couple of years. "Among other things, I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease -— which I don't say so you feel bad for me –– but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes." Throughout the tour, the singer has been accused of "hardly singing," with many branding his performances "lazy." 'Justin Timberlake really thought he could do the bare minimum & get away with it?" one person posted on social media. In his post, Timberlake addressed his performance and the difficulties he experienced on stage. "When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure," he wrote. "But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness." Timberlake said the diagnosis forced him to decide whether to keep touring or to put a hold on all of his shows. "I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I'm so glad I kept going," he reflected. The singer went on to say he is trying to be more transparent amid his diagnosis so others don't misinterpret his actions. "Sharing all of this with the hope that we can all find a way to be more connected," he wrote. "I'd like to do my part to help others experiencing this disease, too." Timberlake concluded his post by thanking his friends, family, fans, and crew members for their support over the past two years. More to follow...
