C8 Corvette ZR1 Races A Lamborghini Revuelto
Much has been said about the performance chops of the C8 Corvette ZR1, but watching one race a Lamborghini Revuelto is something else. After all, talk is cheap and actions speak much louder. It's time to see if the new American supercar can hold off the latest from the Italians.There's no doubt the C8 Corvette ZR1 is fast and capable. After all, the supercar has set a number of track records. It's no wonder, considering the twin-turbo 5.5-liter LT7 V8 produces a claimed 1,064-horsepower and 828 lb.-ft. of torque.
But it's come out that GM perhaps understated the performance capabilities of the ZR1 by a smidge. After Car and Driver tested the American supercar, it concluded that the Chevy is faster than a McLaren 750S, doing 0 to 60 in 2.2 seconds, besting the factory-stated time by a tenth of a second.
They also found it can do 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds and polishes off the quarter mile in 9.5 seconds at 149 mph. Can that performance be replicated by this driver at the track, and will the Lamborghini Revuelto be able to keep up?
The Italian bull is quite accomplished itself. After all, the 6.5-liter V12 engine works with three electric motors for 1,015-hp – the most any production Lamborghini or plug-in hybrid has ever made.
Those three electric motors mean the Revuelto is an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Two of the motors drive the front wheels. The third is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, helping to drive the rear wheels. That could give it an advantage launching off the line.

Lyft to add autonomous shuttles in 2026 as Uber inks more self-driving deals
Lyft will add autonomous shuttles made by Austrian manufacturer Benteler Group to its network in late 2026, the company announced Friday. The shuttles will be deployed in partnership with U.S. cities and airports, according to Lyft, but could expand out from there if things go well. The partnership will let Lyft use urban electric shuttles made by Benteler's mobility division under the Holon brand. The shuttles will not have a steering wheel or pedals and will feature inward-facing seats for up to nine seated and six standing passengers, according to Bloomberg News, which first reported the Benteler partnership on Friday The tie-up comes amid a flurry of announcements from Lyft's main rival, Uber, which has recently added robotaxis from Waymo and WeRide in various cities around the world. Uber is also working on adding robotaxis from Baidu, Pony AI, Momenta, May Mobility, Volkswagen, Wayve, and just last week announced a deal with Nuro and Lucid Motors. Despite years of testing with various partners, Lyft is still working on adding autonomous vehicles to its own fleet of vehicles. The company plans to put AVs from May Mobility on its network in Atlanta later this year. It's also working with autonomy provider Mobileye, though it's not clear who would make those vehicles. Mobileye's tech is what powers the Holon shuttles, though Lyft told Bloomberg that these aren't the same deals.

Tesla (TSLA) stock rebounds as the company prepares to launch robotaxis in San Francisco, according to Business Insider. However, concerns grow over reports from The Information about the company's slow production of its Optimus humanoid robots. Volkswagen (VWAGY) lowered its full-year guidance after reporting a second quarter profit decline, attributing the drop to over $1.5 billion in US tariff costs from the trade war. Saying the company has only made hundreds of robots. Well, why does that matter? As the company grapples with falling auto sales, Musk has been hyping his humanoid robot as Tesla's next big product, a potential 10 trillion dollar business, and has talked about producing 5,000 of those robots this year. So they're going to have to speed it up if they're only at hundreds. Finally, Volkswagen lowering its full-year guidance and reporting a sharp drop in second quarter profit as the auto giant grapples with the costs of President Trump's trade war. Europe's biggest car maker posting second quarter sales of 80.8 billion euros that missed analyst expectations of more than 82 billion euros. The automaker said the impact of US tariffs alone cost it 1.3 billion euros in the first six months of the year.
