Mahira Sharma Reflects On Bigg Boss 13 Journey: ‘I Was Young At That Time'
Ask Mahira Sharma about her journey on Bigg Boss 13, and she candidly admits that things would have been very different if she had the chance to participate again. In a heartfelt conversation on Bharti Singh's podcast, Mahira opened up about her dreams, career aspirations, and reflected on her time in the Salman Khan-hosted reality show. Her appearance on Bigg Boss 13 proved to be a turning point, catapulting her to immense popularity and making her one of television's most beloved personalities.
The conversation kicked off with Bharti Singh acknowledging that Bigg Boss 13 was one of the most successful seasons in the show's history. However, she pointed out that despite its popularity, the contestants faced a dry spell in their careers due to the COVID-19 lockdown, which halted opportunities for almost a year. Bharti further noted how several artists in later seasons seemed to replicate the Bigg Boss 13 contestants. Citing an example, she said she initially believed Abhishek Kumar was trying to emulate Sidharth Shukla in the season he participated in.
Bharti went on to share that it was only after working with Abhishek on Laughter Chefs that she realised he wasn't imitating anyone — he was genuinely short-tempered by nature. Responding to Bharti's observation, Mahira also reflected on her own Bigg Boss 13 journey, recalling how young she was when she joined the reality show.
Mahira Sharma said, 'Agar ab jaati toh shayad ladti bhi naa. I was young at that time. Barely in my early 20s, and I was literally growing up during the show. With experience and maturity, I have realised that 'never say never'. At that time, I used to feel toh kya hua, main bacchi hu par mere mein dimag bohot hai. But I believe you get mature with experience and age. Tabhi toh lagta tha kuch bhi bol sakte hai, but now with age I have realised."
Mahira Sharma made her debut in 2017 in Yaaron Ka Tashan. Later, she also featured in Ekta Kapoor's shows, including Naagin and Bepanah Pyar, among others. Next, she won hearts with her role in Punjabi movies and music videos like Lehanga, Gal Karke, Mexico, Rang Lageya, My Moon and many more. The actress became a household name after she made an appearance on Bigg Boss 13. In the show, she emerged as a finalist, competing against Siddharth Shukla, Asim Riaz and Shehnaaz Gill.

Actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has not had a successful run at the box office for some time now. Whether it was due to COVID-19 or the previous administration in AP insisting on capping movie ticket prices, the actor had a dry run. At the pre-release event for his upcoming film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, he promised all that was about to change as tickets for the film's premiere were sold for as high as ₹700. Pawan Kalyan plays an outlaw in Krish and Jyothi Krisna's Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Pawan Kalyan promises to show his satta after Bheemla Nayak Pawan's last solo film was the 2022 film Bheemla Nayak, a remake of the 2020 Malayalam hit AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The film, which also starred Rana Daggubati, made ₹158.5 crore worldwide. Talking at the pre-release event, Pawan brought up how tickets for the film were sold for a very low price in AP. He said, 'Two years ago, when Bheemla Nayak was released, I didn't say anything when the tickets were sold for ₹10-15. But, just like you wanted, we are releasing the film when I'm in power with hiked ticket rates. Back then, you watched the film out of resolve. I have come out now after the effort you put in back then. Dani taluka meeru satta chustaru iroju (You will see me prove myself now).' He also called himself a hero who grew up on flops, stating that he only hopes for success now for his producers and fans. 'I do not know if the film will make crores, because I have grown up in flops. Much like how you pray for it, I also pray for success. I don't know if it'll happen, but I know I gave it my best; the rest I leave to God. Meeku nacchinda, baddalakotteyandi (If you like it, make it a hit). That's all I can say because you (his fans) are my strength. You have been by my side through it all, my heart beats only for you,' said Pawan. Hari Hara Veera Mallu tickets hiked in TS and AP Pawan's statement came as both the TS and AP governments allowed the makers to hike HHVM ticket prices. Premieres in both states will be held on 23 July around 9 PM. In Telangana, paid premier tickets on 23 July will cost ₹600 + GST. During the weekend, tickets in single screens will cost ₹354 and ₹531 in multiplexes, with a ₹200 hike. Permission has also been granted to screen five shows per day. Multiplexes have been allowed to add ₹200 to the base ticket price, while single screens can charge ₹150 more for upper balcony and ₹100 for lower seats. The hike will be in effect from 24 July - 2 August. HHVM is directed by Krish and Jyothi Krisna. It stars Pawan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol in lead roles.

Mohit Suri says big filmmakers warned him against making a love story with newcomers
Mohit Suri's Saiyaara has struck a chord with audiences and emerged as the sleeper hit of 2025. At a time when big action spectacles dominate theatres, the film stands out as a refreshing return to the classic Bollywood love story, a genre Suri has long been associated with. However, in an exclusive chat with India Today, Suri revealed that the journey to bringing 'Saiyaara' to life wasn't the initial conception of the film, Mohit said, "Two years ago, when I started writing this film, we had just come out of Covid. Back then, there was this widespread belief in the industry that only a particular kind of cinema could work - mostly large-scale action films. Everywhere I looked, films were blowing up buildings, helicopters, trains, cars. It felt like we were in the middle of a Cold War, except between VFX companies, each trying to outdo the other."Suri, who is also known for constructing action pieces within his romantic dramas, confessed that he too was caught in that wave. 'I was a part of that system, trying to push action to new limits. But it reached a point where it was becoming insane. You would film an action sequence in a metro, someone else would do it on top of a bus, then someone would stage it on a plane, and by the time you'd finished, someone had already done it better. I just wanted to stop. That's when I decided that I will make a romantic film now.''Saiyaara', written by Suri and his team within their office walls, wasn't an easy sell though. He shares, "We didn't have a producer. In fact, many big filmmakers told us not to make a newcomer love story and that it wouldn't work in today's climate." Suri also shared insight into his creative work process. "We work in a very scary business. What's relevant today might feel dated a year later. That's why I believe in writing for all times and not what's trending, but what you would personally want to watch as an audience member. Don't dissociate yourself from that. We have all had our Raj-Simran moment. Maybe it wasn't on a bus with a hand stretched out, but that spirit is alive in all of us."Mohit Suri's 'Saiyaara' is currently running in theatres.- Ends
