Adilah singer Thembisile Ntaka opens up about life in Hong Kong and upcoming music
Following this success, she became a member of the group Adilah. Later, songstress Thembisile Ntaka embarked on a solo career and released an album titled Thula in 2016.
In the years that followed, she continued making music and was a fan favourite, because of her unique style and she recently came back from Hong Kong after clinching a role in Hong Kong's adaptation of Disney's Lion King. Although she stayed in Asia, she had music in her vault back home that she wanted to release once she returned home.
And now that she has returned home, she has a burning desire to work and release new music.
Thembisile, whose excitement is palpable when she chats to Drum about her time working abroad.

She delves into the lessons she's learned, what's kept afloat in the cutthroat industry all these years, and her desire to venture into TV acting.
'Working abroad was an awesome experience, because I got to work with different actors from around the world and that was an experience that I had never had before. I wish I can get into a TV drama here at home, not something daily, but something that will enable me to do other things,' she says.
Having just arrived in May, she's in the mood to work and perform the music that she wrote before going abroad.
'I want to start by releasing a single and then gradually ease into releasing the full album and perform songs from there live. I also wouldn't mind collaborating with some artists that I worked with there, because I want to experience other cultures, as I believe that music is universal,' she explains.
She is in awe of how punctual and professional the artists in Hong Kong are, and she wishes the same could be said about South African artists.

'Everything there is done on time and on schedule. It's planned, I wish we could also be punctual and professional. There if you are late, the bus leaves you behind no excuses are welcome. I wish that as artists we could respect time and be professional at all times, because artists from other countries are sheer professionals and they respect their craft,' she emphises.
Being an artist for over two decades, she has managed to keep head held high, because 'I've always been honest with myself.'
'I've always been honest about who I am and not tried to live beyond means, that's what's kept me all this years and I wish every artist can do the same, because struggling causes undue stress and affects productivity,' she concludes.

‘80s Pop Legend, 61, Stuns Fans With Ageless Appearance and Vocal Range
'80s Pop Legend, 61, Stuns Fans With Ageless Appearance and Vocal Range originally appeared on Parade. Time apparently forgot to send Richard Marx the memo about aging. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter just delivered a performance at Summerfest that has fans questioning whether he's discovered the fountain of youth—or simply proves that exceptional talent transcends decades. At 61, the Chicago-born artist commanded the stage with the same vocal power and magnetic presence that made him an '80s sensation. Sitting at his piano in a casual tank top, Marx performed his timeless ballad "Right Here Waiting" with a voice that sounds virtually unchanged from his chart-topping heyday. Fan reactions have been unanimously amazed, with many expressing disbelief at his unchanged sound. One concert-goer perfectly captured the collective sentiment, noting he "sounded like he did when I was listening to him on my radio in the 80s." This authentic appreciation demonstrates how Marx's vocal abilities have genuinely withstood time's typical effects. The Milwaukee festival performance showcased why Marx remains a beloved figure in American pop music. His 30 million albums sold worldwide speak to enduring appeal, but seeing him live proves his continued relevance extends far beyond nostalgia. Marx's career trajectory reads like a masterclass in sustained excellence. His 1987 debut album achieved the rare feat of producing four top-three Billboard Hot 100 singles, with "Hold On to the Nights" reaching number one in 1988. Hits like "Endless Summer Nights" and "Hazard" cemented his status as both vocalist and accomplished makes his current performances particularly remarkable is how effortlessly he delivers these demanding vocal arrangements. Power ballads require incredible range and control, qualities that typically diminish with age. Marx continues executing these songs with the same emotional intensity and technical precision that originally captivated audiences. His ageless appearance complements his preserved vocal abilities, creating an overall package that defies conventional aging expectations. Fans consistently praise both his maintained physique and unchanged stage presence, suggesting his commitment to health and performance extends beyond just vocal exercises. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 This Summerfest appearance represents more than nostalgia—it's proof that authentic artistry remains timeless. The Four Proposed Or Potential ‘Squid Game' Spinoffs On Netflix
Squid Game While Squid Game is over on Netflix after the release of season 3, there is a very real possibility that no, it's not over at all. Nothing is official at this point, but there are an increasing number of ideas or proposed ideas or rumors about how Netflix will continue the series from here, something it no doubt wants to do with the first season still holding its all-time viewership record and season 3 breaking other records with its release. By my count, there are at least four different Squid Game spin-offs that could potentially manifest in the coming years, albeit one seems closer than others. We'll start with the most detailed. Squid Game 1) Hwang Dong-hyuk, the original Squid Game creator and master of the current three seasons, went into detail with EW about a potential spin-off he had in mind, which would actually serve as a prequel: "I actually had this faint ideation about possibly a spinoff — not a sequel, but maybe a spinoff about the three-year gap between season 1 and season 2 when Gi-hun [Lee Jung-jae] looks around for the recruiters," Hwang said. "There is that three-year period, and maybe I could have a portrayal of what the recruiters or Captain Park [Oh Dal-su] or officers or masked men were doing in that period, not inside the gaming arena, but their life outside of that. So that is some vague ideation that I have that could possibly be developed in the future." That would be a somewhat out-there idea as it would be a Squid Game show without an actual game, presumably, given its timeline. But if Hwang has an idea, Netflix is likely to try to cultivate that. Squid Game 2) This one's short, but in the same interview, while Hwang has expressed exhaustion about working on the series (including a number of stories that involve him losing teeth due to stress), he says that he is 'not trying to say that I'm going to close the door to spinoffs or sequels altogether because they say never say never." Spinoffs or sequels, presumably, could be more than just his above proposal, especially a sequel that would take place after the events of the last game. 3) Squid Game America has been this nebulous concept for a while now, a spinoff of the series, not a remake, with David Fincher's name being attached for several years now. The conversation has been resparked by the finale of Squid Game season 3, which showed Cate Blanchett as an American recruiter, and while Hwang says it wasn't directly meant to lead into an American version, rumors have now started swirling at this Fincher version may be spinning up after all, though nothing official from Netflix. Squid Game 4) The Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun, recently commented about the idea of a spinoff for his character in an interview with THR: 'Director Hwang and I have been joking about a Front Man spin-off since the beginning. We both thought that the Front Man or the recruiter could be interesting for more story, because we haven't really explored these characters in their entirety yet. Their backstory is still vague, and their character is still a little murky. To look at the Front Man with a full character study would be a very fun thing to do. So, as for your question — of course I'd be willing to star in it. The character has already been built and designed, and I'm very compelled by him. Just as the fans are curious to know more about him, I am too. That's a story I'd be very willing to tell.' The concept of a Front Man story would leave a lot of options open. We now know he was a competitor and winner of a previous game, so there could be a prequel there. There could be a focus on him during Hwang's 'interim' show. And he is one of the few characters who survives the season 3 finale, so he could return for a sequel show or season. Lots of choices, should any manifest. Do you want to see more Squid Game? The New ‘Kamen Rider' Will Stream In the US, Too
As the Kamen Rider franchise nears the end of its current series Gavv, Toei and Ishimori Productions already wants fans to think ahead. On Saturday, the company unveiled a first look at the tokusatsu giant's next installment, Kamen Rider Zeztz. Per the logline, the show is set 'in a world shaped by the dreams we see in our sleep.' The titular Zeztz 'enters people's dreams as an agent on a mission' to 'bring a bold new form to the battle.' While we don't see any Inception-style antics in the preview, it's got some good vibes as it shows Zeztz mounting his motorcycle, punching the air, and generally looking cool as hell in his new suit. The belt fashioned into a sling bag is nice, ditto the lines on his suit changing colors and making him stand out in the darkness. Kamen Rider Zeztz begins airing in sometime in September after Gavv's finale on August 31. Unlike its predecessors, this new show will also air in the United States, along with other territories like Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and the MENA region. Previously, western fans had a few means of watching Kamen seasons: legally, they could hope Toei would put a series' first episode on YouTube again, or for full seasons to hit Pluto TV's TokuSHOUTsu channel after their initial air date in Japan. More details on Kamen Rider Zeztz is coming 'soon.' Want more io9 news?
