US stars Jelly Roll and Shaboozey are headed to Australia for inaugural country music festival Strummingbird
US country music stars Jelly Roll and Shaboozey are headed to Australia later this year, to perform at the inaugural Strummingbird festival. The singers will top the line-up at the three-city country music festival from the team behind the iconic Spilt Milk concerts, kicking off this October. Headlining the festival is Jelly Roll, 40, the beloved Nashville hitmaker whose anthemic songs have earned him four Grammy nominations and a massive global following. Joining him is Shaboozey, 30, the iconic singer behind the smash hit A Bar Song (Tipsy), which topped the ARIA Singles Chart and went 2x Platinum in Australia. The music stars will first take the stage on Saturday, October 25th at Kawana Sports Precinct on the Sunshine Coast. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. They will then perform at Newcastle Foreshore, Newcastle on Saturday, November 1, before finishing up at Claremont Showground in Perth on November 2. They will be joined by a stacked line-up of international and local talent, including Treaty Oak Revival, James Johnston, Kaylee Bell, Matt Hansen, Drew Baldridge and Hot Dub Time Machine. Live Nation shared the exciting announcement on social media: 'Strummingbird have just announced their toe-tapping, hat-tipping 2025 line up!' Pre-sale tickets will be available from Thursday. Tickets will range in price from approximately $170 - $215. Organisers told social media fans about what they could expect when attending: 'The festival runs for over 10 hours. You don't have to come at the very start. 'There will be two musical stages, mechanical bull, barbecue, beverages and a whole lot more to enjoy. We'll release playing times closer to the event.' With a mix of chart-topping headliners, rising country stars, and laidback festival vibes, Strummingbird is set to become Australia's newest must-see music event. The exciting news comes as a welcome surprise in a time when the live music industry in Australia is facing significant challenges. This year has seen a slew of major music festivals axed, including multi-city event Listen Out, R'n'B festival Souled Out and the ever-iconic Splendour in the Grass. It was revealed in January that Splendour in the Grass would not be returning in 2025. Organisers officially confirmed that the beloved Byron Bay music festival would not go ahead for a second year in a row via social media. The 2024 Splendour festival, which was set to feature the likes of Kylie Minogue, G Flip, Tash Sultana, and Fontaines D.C., was axed less than a week after tickets went on sale, with organisers citing 'unexpected events' as the reason behind the last-minute cancellation. There is no guarantee that the festival is slated to return in 2026, however, organisers asked music fans to 'think of it as a breather so we can come back even bigger and better when the time is right.'

Major Hollywood star announces exclusive Australian tour
Pete Davidson is heading to Australia later this year to perform some exclusive stand-up comedy shows across three major cities. The Hollywood star, 31, has carved out a respectable career as an actor, writer and stand-up comedian and will bring his unique style of comedy to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Davidson's highly-anticipated tour will see him perform three shows across late September and early October. He will first take the stage at Perth's Riverside Theatre on Monday, September 29, before heading to Melbourne's Palais Theatre the following night. The Suicide Squad star will then wrap up at Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Wednesday, October 1. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. From 2014 to 2022, Davidson captivated audiences as a cast member on NBC's long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. His comedic talent also shines through in his stand-up specials, including his Netflix release Turbo Fonzarelli, and his 2020 hit Pete Davidson: Alive From New York. Notably, Davidson was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 and recognised in Time's 100 Most Influential People of 2022. Tickets will be sold through Live Nation and are available for general purchase from 10:00am AEST on Friday, August 1, and range in price from $92 - $150. Davidson was last in Australia in 2022 to film the movie Wizards! in Cairns, Queensland, opposite Orlando Bloom and Naomi Scott. Last week, Davidson and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt announced they are expecting their first child together. And while it has been claimed the pregnancy was something the couple 'weren't planning' - the SNL alum and English model are beyond 'excited' to become parents. The comedian - who has previously been linked to high-profile celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande - first sparked romance rumours with Hewitt in March. A source opened up to Us Weekly about their baby news and stated, 'Pete and Elsie definitely weren't planning on starting a family but are over the moon about it. 'They are so excited. They have a really playful relationship, and things are going really well.' Despite dating for a 'short amount of time,' the pregnancy 'has brought them even closer. It's a healthy relationship for Pete.' The insider explained that fatherhood was something Davidson always wanted for his future and that 'the timing in his life is perfect.' The actor also broke his silence over the pregnancy news while recently talking to E! News. 'I'm very lucky and very happy,' Pete expressed to the outlet, and added he could not wait, 'to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn't have.' He continued: 'I assume you just try to give them what you didn't have, and what you didn't like, not do it.' The actor has talked about his dreams of being a dad in the past - such as when he made an appearance on Kevin Hart's show Hart To Heart back in 2022.
