
Accidents: Accident sends three to hospital for injuries
According to a Union County Sheriff's Office report, at approximately 10:52 a.m. a 2015 GMC Acadia, driven by Danny A. Fry, 37, of Creston, was eastbound on Highway 34 at Highway 169 when it hit a 2014 Jeep Compass, driven by Alexis H. Goodemote, 17, of Thayer.
The Compass, which was westbound on Highway 34 in the turn lane to turn left onto Highway 169, failed to yield the right-of-way while making a left-hand turn and pulled in front of the Acadia.
Both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane of Highway 34.
Fry and two adult passengers in the Acadia were transported to Greater Regional Health by ambulance for injuries.
Damage to the Acadia and Compass was estimated at $10,000 each.

A citation was issued Friday after a two-vehicle accident in Creston.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 8:10 p.m. a 2021 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Macos C. Ramirez, 37, of Creston, was northbound at Adams and Elm streets. At the same time, a 2010 Ford Fusion, driven by LeSheena N. Drake, 37, of Greenfield, was westbound on Adams Street approaching the intersection.
The 4Runner stopped at the intersection then continued northbound where it hit the Fusion as it proceeded through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign.
Ramirez was unable to avoid hitting the Fusion. When asked, Drake said she did not see the stop sign and admitted to not stopping.
Drake was cited for failure to obey a stop or yield sign.
Damage to the 4Runner was estimated at $1,500 and damage to the Fusion was estimated at $2,000.

Deadly head-on crash on Highway 99 kills 21-year-old Elk Grove man, several injured
( — An Elk Grove man is dead and several others are injured after a head-on crash on Highway 99 Monday morning. Around 2:12 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a car crash on Highway 99, south of Hammatt Avenue. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. All four occupants of the Chevrolet, ranging from 19 to 21 years of age, were transported to local hospitals for moderate to major injuries. CHP said the big rig driver and Toyota driver did not sustain any injuries and were not transported by medical personnel. Both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with the investigating officers. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Limestone County Coroner asking public to identify man killed Sunday morning
LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Limestone County Coroner is asking for help identifying a person who was killed Sunday morning. Coroner Mike West said a pedestrian was killed around 1 a.m. on Harvest Road. West said the subject was dressed 'in a pair of long pj pants and boots.' He also said the person did not have any identification on them. He told News 19 the person was a white man, probably in his late 20s to early 30s with short black hair. 'If anyone knows anything about this subject or has any information, please contact the Alabama State Troopers' office or the Limestone County coroner's office,' West said. 2-year-old boy suffers gunshot wound on Chicago's West Side
A 2-year-old boy suffered what was believed to be an accidental gunshot wound Monday evening in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago's West Side, police said. At 8:26 p.m., police were called to a home in the 400 block of North Lawndale Avenue after the toddler entered a bedroom where an unsecured gun was located, police said. A man heard a loud noise, and found the 2-year-old boy with a graze would to the left wrist, police said. The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in good condition, police said. No one was custody late Monday. A weapon was recovered on the scene. Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
