Scars on Broadway, the outfit fronted by System of a Down guitarist-singer Daron Malakian, have announced a new album titled Addicted to the Violence, their first studio LP in seven years. Ahead of its July 18th release, the band has unleashed the single 'Killing Spree.'
Malakian composed, produced, and performed all the songs on the album, with contributions from Scars on Broadway bandmates Orbel Babayan (guitar) and Roman Lomtadze (drums).

Regarding the song 'Killing Spree,' Malakian said, 'It's a taboo topic people might be afraid to talk about. Kids have rebelled forever. Mental disorders have always been there too. In the last 15 years, we've seen a generation that will walk into school and kill other students. I'm not glamorizing or advocating it. I'm just saying, 'The kids are on a fucking killing spree.' It's what I see in front of me.'
He added, 'I'm not just talking about killings either. You'll see a lady who's getting beaten up on the subway and people around her aren't even helping; they're fucking recording on their iPhones. We had automatic weapons fifty years ago, and nobody was doing this. I blame the mindset. We now have a generation that is so detached and desensitized. They're totally unemotional and unempathetic. There's no respect for life.'
The July 18th release date for Addicted to the Violence happens to be Malakian's 50th birthday. The musician has been out on the road with System of a Down playing a series of South American shows. This summer, SOAD will perform two-night stands at stadiums in East Rutherford, New Jersey; Chicago, and Toronto, where they'll be joined by Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, and Deftones, respectively (pick up tickets here).
'I'm just as proud of Scars as I am of SOAD,' stated Malakian in a press release. 'This is another musical outlet for me. I think it's some of the best stuff I have to offer. I'm blessed that I can still do this and write songs every day.'

KING OF THE HILL Revival Is Bringing Alamo Beer to Real Life, and Yep... It's Real, I Tell You What — GeekTyrant

King of the Hill is officially returning to TV with a 10-episode revival dropping all at once on Hulu. But the comeback isn't just happening on screens, it's also making its way into your fridge. For the first time ever, fans will be able to crack open an actual Alamo Beer, just like Hank, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer. San Antonio's Alamo Beer Co. has teamed up with Hulu to brew a real-world version of the show's fictional go-to beverage. The collaboration has been confirmed by brewery founder Eugene Simor, who shared: 'We're just trying to finalize when the actual date will be for release. It's real.' While there's no official date just yet, the plan is to have it out in time for the revival's August 4 release. The beer made its first appearance at a cast event back in May, but fans are still waiting for it to hit store shelves. The revival series is set years after the original finale, and a lot has changed, except for Hank Hill's love of beer. According to the show's new storyline, Hank, Peggy, and Bobby have spent time abroad in Saudi Arabia due to Hank's job, and they're now returning to an America that feels unfamiliar. While the country might be different, Hank remains the same propane-loving, beer-drinking dad we've always known. Showrunner Saladin K. Patterson recently spoke about Hank's worldview and how it's aged in today's social climate: 'Hank always represented the sensible middle, the old show did a great job handling the extremes and kind of pushing people towards what the common-sense middle was. Well, Hank's been gone, and while he's gone, the country's changed so much that where Hank stood in the middle isn't really the middle anymore.' The revival promises a mix of change and familiarity, with the Hill family dealing with the new world around them in their signature, quietly hilarious fashion. No word yet on where exactly you'll be able to pick up a six-pack of the official Alamo Beer, but if you've ever wanted to drink like Hank Hill, this is your moment.

From Messi to Auckland City, magic shining through Club World Cup issues

The Club World Cup's various problems have been well documented, from empty seats to storm delays, extreme heat to complaints about FIFA's expanded competition being a cash grab at the expense of the players' long-term health. However, with the right ingredients slow-cooking in the United States summer sun, there has also been plenty to enjoy about the tournament so far. Advertisement Several stars are getting their encore moments, including Inter Miami's cast of ageing former Barcelona greats, led by Lionel Messi. Now 38, Messi helped the Major League Soccer side make the last 16 against the odds, which coach Javier Mascherano said was "historic". Messi's mere presence still provokes intense reactions, including from a young boy in an Argentina shirt at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in tears before the new NBA-style walk-outs, overcome at the prospect of seeing his hero live. He delivered, too, whipping a superb free-kick into the top corner to earn Miami a shock victory over Porto. Advertisement "I'm a Messi fan, he's still one of the best players in the world -- that Porto game we weren't supposed to win," said Yemi Obono, a 34-year-old tech product manager who lives in Atlanta. He and many others will get another chance to see the forward when Inter Miami face European champions Paris Saint-Germain in Georgia again this weekend in the last 16. "(Watching Messi) was like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me... I hope I can go on Sunday and see him again," added Obono. "I'm happy -- at first I wasn't happy we came second (in the group)." Advertisement Messi's reunion with PSG is one of many narratives to catch the eye. With clubs taking the competition seriously, not least because of the total of $1 billion in prize money on offer, these matches feel "canon", unlike pre-season friendly tours. "I'm pretty sure for the South American teams, for the Brazilian teams, for Argentinian teams, this competition is maybe the maximum," said Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, who hailed the passion of the South American fans in particular. "People are surprised (when) European teams lose," added Guardiola. "Welcome to the real world my friends." Advertisement Botafogo stunned PSG in the group stage with a 1-0 win, Chelsea suffered a stinging 3-1 defeat by another Brazilian side in Flamengo, and Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid were eliminated early. The group stage has offered some of the tension the revamped UEFA Champions League first round lacked. The Club World Cup has also offered a first look at Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid project, and new signings like Los Blancos duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen, Chelsea's Liam Delap and several Manchester City arrivals. Coaches including Bayern's Vincent Kompany have appreciated the extra time they have to work in depth with players, swallowed up in the season by recovery sessions amid the packed calendar. Advertisement - '99 percent' - The tournament has been an opportunity to celebrate teams who rarely get to enjoy the global spotlight. While some mocked New Zealand amateurs Auckland City after their opening 10-0 defeat by Bayern Munich, it highlighted how impressive their 1-1 draw against Boca Juniors was in their final game. "We're representing 99 percent of club teams in world football who are amateurs... we all have day jobs," said vice-captain Adam Mitchell. Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds' fans went toe-to-toe with their River Plate counterparts in creating a superb atmosphere, which is no mean feat. Advertisement Although River and Argentine rivals Boca were eliminated, their passionate supporters helped bring the tournament to life. Even if stadiums are not full, the fans who are there are bringing the noise -- and the average attendance is higher than for La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 last season. Brazilian clubs have flexed their muscles, with all four reaching the last 16, surprising those who thought the gap to Europe's elite was too great. With the likes of PSG, City, Real and Bayern looking to go deep, some impending blockbuster clashes may yet win over those resistant to the spectacle. The Club World Cup is a tournament in its infancy, with room to improve, but is already showing it has more heart than some expected. rbs/ea/as

The Night Manager Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on June 25, 2025, 20:00 IST Last updated June 25, 2025, 17:02 IST Alright, let's dive into The Night Manager Season 2, the spy thriller everyone's been buzzing about since that wild 2016 finale. Tom Hiddleston's Jonathan Pine had folks hooked, and now, years later, BBC and Amazon Prime Video are bringing back the suspense with not just a second season but a third one too. Here's the lowdown on when it's dropping, who's in it, and what the story might hold, based on all the chatter out there. The Night Manager Season 2 Potential Release Date No official date's been pinned down yet, which is honestly a bit maddening for fans. Word is, Season 2's coming in 2025. Filming started late 2024, with crews setting up in London and some South American spots. Looking back, Season 1 filmed in 2015 and hit screens by early 2016, so a safe bet's sometime between January and May 2025. Keep those fingers crossed for a sooner-rather-than-later drop. The Night Manager Season 2 Expected Cast The cast of The Night Manager Season 2 blends returning favorites with exciting new faces. Tom Hiddleston is confirmed to reprise his role as Jonathan Pine, the former British soldier turned night manager who navigates the dangerous world of espionage. Hiddleston has expressed enthusiasm for returning, calling the role 'one of the most creatively fulfilling projects' of his career. Joining Hiddleston are several returning cast members from Season 1: Olivia Colman as Angela Burr, the no-nonsense intelligence boss pulling Pine's strings. Alistair Petrie as Sandy Langbourne, mixed up in the arms-dealing game. Douglas Hodge as Rex Mayhew, the government suit. Michael Nardone as Frisky, one of Richard Roper's muscle guys. Noah Jupe as Danny Roper, the arms dealer's kid. The Night Manager Season 2 Potential Plot Plot details for The Night Manager Season 2 are being kept tightly under wraps, adding to the intrigue surrounding the series. The first season adapted the entirety of John le Carré's novel, meaning Season 2 will feature an original story crafted by series creator and writer David Farr. The story is confirmed to pick up eight years after the Season 1 finale, which saw Jonathan Pine orchestrate the downfall of arms dealer Richard Roper. Tom Hiddleston has hinted that the time jump will reflect the aging of his character, stating, 'Jonathan Pine… has been alive in the world. So he'll be eight or nine years older, just as I am, and I think it'll be fascinating to see where he is, what he's doing, how he's operating.' This suggests a more seasoned Pine, possibly grappling with the consequences of his past actions. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
