A pillar of Bhojpuri cinema
Gopal Rai was one of the pioneering faces of Bhojpuri cinema who played a significant role in elevating the industry. Over a career spanning several decades, he appeared in more than 200 films and television shows. Known for his versatility, Gopal Rai effortlessly portrayed a wide range of characters from menacing villains to comic roles and winning the hearts of audiences with every performance.
The news of his passing was confirmed by noted film critic Sanjay Bhushan Patiala. On Instagram, he wrote, "Sad news for Bhojpuri film industry: Gopal Rai passes away Muzaffarpur, Bihar, 25 May 2025 ! Bhojpuri is a sad news for film industry. Our beloved actor Gopal Rai has passed away. He was known for his acting and simplicity and had made a unique identity of himself in the Bhojpuri film industry." The post also mentioned that their cremation will be tomorrow at Rewa Ghat.

Previously, the actor opened up about his weight loss journey during an interview with Mashable India. He revealed that he lost 16 kgs just by regularly running for one and a half months. It happened in the 1990s when Dilip was preparing for his role in the Gujarati film Hun Hunshi Hunshilal. He said he would run every day after working in the office. 'I used to change at the swimming club and jog down Marine Drive to the Oberoi Hotel, even in the rain, and back. The entire run would take about 45 minutes," he shared. Meanwhile, on the work front, Dilip Joshi has starred in several Hindi films, such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, One 2 Ka 4, Khiladi 420, Dil Hai Tumhaara and Dhoondte Reh Jaoge, to name only a few. The actor has been a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since its premiere in 2008. He continues to be a part of the show which recently returned.

Ananya Panday confesses she's not a crier, but couldn't stop weeping after watching cousin Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara
Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara, which marks the film debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has become the highest grossing Hindi film with newcomers. Backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, the movie has earned Rs 45 crore at the domestic box office within just two days since release. Ahaan is the brother of popular social media influencer Alanna Panday and the first cousin of actor Ananya Panday. Alanna and her husband Ivor McCray posted a vlog which gives a sneak peek into the Panday household across two days leading up to the release of Saiyaara. Titled 'My BROTHER'S first movie launch day! #Saiyaara vlog,' the video has Ivor taking the audience through the behind-the-scenes action. The vlog starts with the Panday family organizing a havan at their home two days before the release of Saiyaara. Ahaan Panday, sitting on the floor in a white kurta, reveals that he misses his dadi (paternal grandmother), whose portrait is also kept there to mark her presence. His father reveals Chikki Panday reveals Ahaan used to fight with his dadi to put ghee into the sacred fire in his childhood. In another scene, as the Panday family sit together in the living room, Alanna makes Ahaan hold her one-year-old son River. She describes him as the biggest fan of Krish Kapoor, the character Ahaan plays in Saiyaara. They plan to make River wear a t-shirt that says, 'I'm Krish Kapoor's best friend.' Ahaan reveals while River had not been warming up to his uncle all this while, he's suddenly took to him after watching the trailer of Saiyaara. We then see Ivor try to sing the Saiyaara title track, filmed on Ahaan, in broken Hindi. His singing gives way to laughter a couple of times as Alanna records her husband attempting to sing in Hindi. The family then visits the mini theatre at Yash Raj Studios for the film's first screening, where they also meet Aneet Padda and her parents. 'It's really nerve-wrecking. And also, he's (Ahaan) not helping much. I show my shaking hand, he's like, 'Me too!' (shows shaking hand),' Aneet says in the vlog. During the screening, Ivor makes River peep into the theatre to watch Ahaan Panday lip-syncing on the screen, much to his nephew's surprise. He even lets out a chuckle after Ivor steps away with River in his arms. After the screening, the Panday family hug Ahaan and Aneet and admit they were all crying throughout the film.
