AN EASTENDERS actor and pop star has shared his heartbreak after losing his beloved brother.
The actor, who is now based in LA and aged 49, joined BBC kids TV as angel-faced Tegs Ratcliffe in 1988.

Responding to the latest Instagram post from the legendary Lewis Capaldi - EastEnders Sean Maguire wrote a heart breaking comment.
The actor said: "Lewis been a fan for a while. Don't like talking about this sh***.
"But having a tough time just now. Lost my brother six months ago. Holding it together.
"But dropped my kids off this morning and played 'someone you loved' and hit differently. Then burst into tears.
"I didn't know I needed it. Maybe I did. Had to pull the car over and keep singing and crying.
"Thank you for the therapy. Really thank you. You helped me get back up. X"
The emotional and heartfelt post comes weeks after Sean announced his brother's death on his own account.
The star wrote at the time: "I've struggled to find the words or even choose the pictures for this.
"Because it means that it's real but for those who don't already know our beloved brother Darren Maguire passed away on Saturday, 11th January.
"He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a truly remarkable man, friend, son, brother, and father.

"He was so loved by everyone that knew him. I'm still in so much shock.
"I can barely form a sentence, but I know the world has lost one of its most beloved people and I have lost my best friend.
"We love you Darren and we'll never stop loving you. Now go make them laugh and dance heaven."
Sean joined BBC kids TV as angel-faced Tegs Ratcliffe in 1988.
Yet his character was forced to quit Grange Hill school in 1991 when his step-dad secured a job in Germany.
The English-American performer later spent a year in Albert Square as troubled teen Aidan Brosnan.
Joining the soap as a 17-year-old in 1993, Sean took on tough storylines focused on homelessness and drug abuse which culminated in a near suicide attempt.
While he was stopped from taking his own life by girlfriend Mandy, he blamed her for ruining his life and fled to Ireland.
Sean became a pop star after leaving EastEnders, scoring eight top 30 hits including Good Day which peaked at number 12 in the UK.
And he joined the cast of Scott & Bailey in 2012.
Sean swapped grey Britain for sunny California in 2000 and became a US citizen just in time to vote in the presidential election.
His career has gone from strength to strength in the States.
He played the lead role in 300 parody Meet The Spartans, starred alongside Kevin Hart in fantasy comedy Krod Mandoon, and took over the part of Robin Hood in ABC's Once Upon A Time.
In addition to acting, he also teaches aspiring thespians through his business The Players Conservatory.
But most of all Sean is a proud dad of three with his former cop wife Tanya Flynn.

The Alters: unintentionally the realest game about parenting I've ever played
Other than during that golden period when they were old enough to play games and watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer but hadn't yet become evil teenagers, I don't think I'm very good at parenting. When my kids were babies I felt unnecessary and useless, a feeling I have been reminded of most days since. That's OK. We can't be good at everything. I can read words backwards and upside down but I can never find my house keys. I am brilliant at dancing to the Cure's The Lovecats on Dancing Stage MegaMix but terrible at DIY. Don't get me wrong: I love my children. I like hanging out with them socially as young adults because they are smart, funny and entertaining, but then they remember I am their dad, and everything is ruined as they ask me to do stuff then blame me for everything wrong in their lives. So I took advantage of the fact that they all went away on the same weekend to have some uninterrupted dad time and sink my teeth into a game with depth, without disturbance. That game was The Alters. I loved the concept. You are stuck on a planet and have to clone different versions of yourself to operate the base and survive. That's really clever. Even better: you create the clones by looking at your life path and picking moments when you made certain decisions that led to you becoming the Jan Dolski that you are. For example, if you select the path where you went off to study rather than entering the mines like your dad did, then you clone Jan the Scientist, an ace researcher. If you went to work on oil rigs, you create Jan Worker, a load-lightener. If you decide that all you want to do is sit on your backside all day playing with words, you become Jan Writer. (Except you don't. There is no Jan Writer option, which shows how useless I would be in a survival situation.) It's a compelling game mechanic because you are not only exploring, resource building and problem solving, you are questioning the whole nature of decision making. It makes you go back through your own life, wondering at the choices you made and what could have been different. This is horribly depressing though and I wouldn't recommend it. Stick to the game's story, not your own. The problem is that the more clones you have in The Alters, the more you have to work to keep them fed, healthy and entertained. And they are needy little bastards whose first language is Whine. It didn't matter about the fresh food I gave them, the movies I sat through or the games of beer pong I deliberately lost – the Jan Miner character was determined to be grumpy and confrontational, and Jan Scientist was constantly punchably irritating. Whenever I thought I was triumphing at managing the base – helped by a system that allows you to set up automatic production of important things like radiation filters to keep you safe, and allotting different clones to regularly do specific shifts – I would have to drop what I was doing and run around doing something else for my dependants to keep them happy. You see where I am going with this? The very last thing I want to do with my free time. My failures in the game (and there are many) are accompanied by me screaming at the needy sods to give me a break for five minutes. My neighbours probably still think my kids are still at home. I have never felt so strongly that I am the wrong person to play a game that is so right. The script and story are strong, almost like an interactive version of Andy Weir's The Martian. Philosophical concepts are bandied around, such as Camus's idea that heroism is easy, and it's doing the normal things that is the real challenge in life. And the graphics are so distinctive and mesmerising they are works of art. The space base moves around like a futuristic take on Howl's Moving Castle. The game questions the very meaning of existence and what we're supposed to do with it, and it is moving to witness the clones react to their new reality. Some hate you, others are fascinated, but all at points bond with you over shared memories of everything from Mom's pierogies and beloved lava lamps to how you dealt with your abusive father. There is imagination and intelligence in abundance. It would make an incredible novel or animated movie. And 1990s Dominik, who had no kids or responsibilities, would have found marshalling a load of interesting, talented but whiny dependants a fun novelty. It's like The Game of Life, which was a fun board game to play as kids, but hell when we had two in the back seat of our car. Maybe The Alters is the perfect game for you to play if you are thinking about having kids. In fact I urge anyone of child-bearing or rearing age to play it immediately, to see if you are up to the task in real life or if, like me, it all turns out to be too much hard work.

New Friday the 13th 'film' announced... and horror fans AREN'T happy about it
The Friday the 13th franchise is getting a new entry, but it's not quite what fans were expecting. Instead of a new full-length film, a short-form vignette is being produced to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the original 1980 movie. Titled Sweet Revenge, the project is being sponsored by Angry Orchard Hard Cider as part of a larger collaboration between the boozy brand and the iconic horror franchise. Sweet Revenge will be directed by Mike P. Nelson, who is also working on a reboot of the holiday horror film Silent Night, Deadly Night. 'I am so grateful that the team at Horror, Inc. saw something in "Sweet Revenge" and wanted it as a part of the Jason Voorhees story,' Nelson said in a statement. 'And to think 30 years ago I was trying to secretly watch these movies on VHS when no one was looking,' he continued. 'To have the opportunity to write and direct one of these stories is surreal – not to mention having an amazing team led by Chad Villella and Brianna Lee Johnson help me bring it to life! 'Not only is the vignette a new take on the beloved IP, it is a comforting, gory hug, reminding us why we fell in love with these movies. Much gruesome fun awaits you!' Production kicked off earlier this month, reports Variety. Fans were furious over news that the vignette won't be a full-length theatrical film. 'What are they doing what is this garbage? No Jason films for almost 20 years and now this,' commented one. 'They'll do anything but put jason back on a feature film. Yikes,' raged another. 'Wow... a short film. We've had a million of those already. What we want is a new film. This universe is a desperate joke,' a third commented. An all-new Jason Voorhees design was recently unveiled by special effects legend Greg Nicotero and will be used in upcoming Friday the 13th projects. While longtime fans will need to wait a lot longer for a new Friday the 13th film, an upcoming prequel series is currently on its way. Titled Crystal Lake, the series is being produced by A24 for the Peacock streaming service. Linda Cardellini will play Jason's mother, Pamela Voorhees. Other cast members include William Catlett, Devin Kessler, and Cameron Scoggins. Showrunner Brad Kane announced that production had officially started on the project last week. Crystal Lake has been described as an 'expanded prequel' to the original film and will most likely dive into the backstory of Jason and Pamela Voorhees.
