The facility, situated in DLF Downtown 4, covers an area of 125,000ft² and is intended to support the firm's increasing workforce in the area.
This expansion raises PwC India's total capacity in the NCR to nearly 8,000 employees, contributing to a national workforce of around 30,000 across 20 sites.
The new office is designed to include spaces for innovation, client engagement, and collaboration, aimed at enhancing service delivery and addressing complex client needs, the accounting giant said in its press statement.
Sanjeev Krishan, chairperson, PwC in India, said: 'The opening of our sixth office in the NCR region represents the continued demand of our services and trust of our clients. As a people business, our offices are always centered around our clients and employees.
'Our new office has been designed as an open, flexible, Gen Z friendly workspace created to challenge the conventions of traditional workplaces. In addition to the Gurugram office, PwC India has plans for further growth, with two new offices set to open in Mumbai in 2025.
This initiative, according to the company, is part of its strategy to strengthen its operations in the financial centre of the country, allowing employees greater flexibility in choosing their workplace while improving client service across India.

India to defy Trump's threats and keep buying Russian oil, government sources say

India will keep purchasing oil from Russia, despite President Donald Trump threatening to impose penalties for doing so, two Indian officials said on Saturday Officials in India, the most populous country on Earth, told Reuters and That contradicted a statement from Trump, who on Friday told reporters his understanding was that India would 'no longer' be buying oil from Russia. "These are long-term oil contracts," an unnamed Indian official told Reuters. "It is not so simple to just stop buying overnight.' Last week, Trump said India would face unspecified penalties for buying Russian oil in addition to a 25 percent tariff on goods. However, China and Turkey, two countries that also purchase large amounts of Russian oil, have not faced similar penalty threats. India drastically increased its import of Russian oil after the Kremlin invaded Ukraine in 2022, while many other countries began to cut back it's imports. The cheap availability of Russian oil allowed India to reduce its reliance on other countries, such as Saudi Arabia or Iraq, who typically sell to Asian countries at a higher price. While India faced criticisms for doing so, the general consensus around India's increase in imports has been that it helps avoid a global surge in oil prices. It's unclear why exactly Trump has targeted India in reducing its import of Russian oil. The president has recently expressed frustrations with Russian President Vladimir Putin for failing to come to the peace talks table to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine. On Friday, India's external affairs spokesperson Randdhir Jaiswal said India and Russia had a 'time-tested partnership' and that India was analyzing its energy sourcing. "On our energy sourcing requirements ... we look at what is there available in the markets, what is there on offer, and also what is the prevailing global situation or circumstances," Jaiswal said, according to Reuters. India heavily relies on energy imports to sustain the needs of it's more than one billion population. It imports more than one million barrels per day.

McDonald's plans AI expansion to streamline customer orders, executive says

McDonald's is ramping up its use of artificial intelligence to streamline customer orders and sharpen its business operations, with plans to "double down" on AI investments by 2027, a senior executive said on Friday, according to Reuters. The fast-food giant currently uses AI to verify orders at 400 restaurants in India, allowing the chain to catch and correct errors before food is handed to customers, according to the outlet. McDonald's is planning to roll out the new system globally in two years, Head of Global Business Services Operations Deshant Kaila said, Reuters reported. "We're still in the early stages, so it's hard to pin down the exact investment," Kaila said during an event in the southern city of Hyderabad, India. Beyond order accuracy, McDonald's is leveraging AI to forecast sales, determine pricing strategies, and evaluate product performance, Reuters reported, adding that the company is also developing a personalized mobile app that will function across multiple countries. India's Mahindra logs 20% jump in SUV sales to dealers, rivals post declines

By Meenakshi Maidas and Nandan Mandayam (Reuters) -Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra logged a 20% year-on-year jump in SUV sales to dealers in July on strong demand for newer models and electric SUVs, while its rivals struggled, data from the firms showed on Friday. Most Indian carmakers, barring Mahindra, are struggling to grow sales amid a broader industry slowdown in the world's third-largest car market. Switch Auto Insurance and Save Today! Affordable Auto Insurance, Customized for You The Insurance Savings You Expect Great Rates and Award-Winning Service Having gotten off to a slow start to 2025, manufacturers are counting on a pick-up in demand from late August, buoyed by festivals, as well as tax cuts and lower interest rates. Still, for the year to March 2026, they expect industry-wide car sales to grow just 1% to 2%, compared to a 2% growth in the previous year. Domestic sales for Hyundai India and Tata Motors slid by a tenth each in July, as the companies suffer from stalling demand for their small cars and older SUVs – a segment which contributes two-thirds to their dispatches. Successful launches over the past year at Mahindra have drawn customers away from Hyundai and Tata Motors, with Mahindra leaping past the two to the no. 2 spot in the domestic car market, long held by Hyundai. However, Tata Motors, which leads sales of electric vehicles in India, reported a 42% jump in EV sale volumes to a record 7,124 units. The EV leader's dominance has been challenged over the last year by Mahindra and JSW MG Motor. Meanwhile, market leader Maruti Suzuki reported that sales to dealers were largely flat. Although sales of small cars such as the Swift rose for the first time in six months, this was offset by a decline in SUV sales. Maruti's July performance was hurt by price hikes to upgrade models with six airbags, its sales and marketing head Partho Banerjee said in a call on Friday.
