Need to reach out to every home, unite Hindus: RSS chief Bhagwat

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday exhorted its members to reach out to every family and work to unite all Hindus, asserting that the goal is to build a society that is free of inequalities like casteism and is aware of its responsibility towards the nation.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief, who arrived here on Saturday on a two-day visit, made the remarks while speaking to volunteers at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya School in Nawabganj.
"We should have contact with every family in the 'shakha' area.
"Work has to be done to unite all Hindus. There should be 'sanskar' (values) in every household and harmony in families so that the Sanatan tradition can be re-established in every home," he said.
On Sunday, Bhagwat held four meetings with Sangh officials where the functioning of 'shakhas' and service work conducted among students were discussed along with other issues.
Bhagwat said that the RSS "works for personality development.
Personal development means realising one's responsibility towards the family as well as society, nation and the entire human race, i.e. the world".
"We say that the world is a family. As the Sangh grew, it expanded its scope and expanded its work in various areas of social life through its workers," he said.
"Today we are in the centenary year of the Sangh. On the basis of Panch Parivartan, an effort is being made to move towards a big change in the entire society -- a society that is aware of its responsibility towards the nation, a society that builds its lifestyle in accordance with the environment; "A society that is free from the inequality of casteism, where the entire society has equal rights on temples, water reservoirs, crematoriums," he said.
Swayamsevaks are being trained in Kanpur from May 21, and the camp will conclude on June 10, RSS office bearers in Kanpur said.
Dattatreya Hosabale, the general secretary of the RSS, has been in Kanpur for the past two days and is providing training to volunteers on building a "society that transcends caste barriers", they said.

Agra Conversion Racket Exposes ISI Link: ‘Lady Brigade', Plot To Target Hindu Women And More

In a startling revelation, an alleged religious conversion racket busted in Agra has been linked to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, according to findings by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The ongoing investigation suggests that ISI was orchestrating a plan to create a 'Lady Brigade' — a network of women converted from Hinduism — to operate as sleeper cells across India. It is believed that ISI was not only working to convert Hindus but was also allegedly using those converted to further propagate conversion among others. In today's DNA episode, Zee News analysed the alleged religious conversion racket in Agra: Watch Full DNA Episode Here: DNA : हिंदू ही हथियार बनेंगे..हिंदू ही मारे जाएंगे! मुनीर-ISI के इशारे पर भारत में धर्मांतरण! मुनीर के 'एंटी हिंदू टूलकिट' का DNA टेस्ट#DNA #Chhangur #Balrampur #Agra #Pakistan @pratyushkkhare — Zee News (@ZeeNews) July 28, 2025 The racket came to light earlier this month when UP ATS arrested several individuals in Agra. One of the key accused, Abdul Rehman, was apprehended. Meanwhile, investigations revealed that this group was in touch with international funding sources and was reportedly receiving money from countries such as Canada and England. Further investigations have revealed that Pakistani YouTubers Tanveer Ahmed and Sahib Adeeb were also involved in the network and were allegedly on ISI's payroll. These individuals were reportedly offering online religious indoctrination and targeting Hindu girls through social media platforms. The conversion syndicate reportedly even had a dedicated WhatsApp wing operating in Delhi. Girls recruited through this system were allegedly being radicalised and encouraged to incite others or support anti-national activities. The ATS also uncovered that a man named Syed Dawood, originally from Madhya Pradesh but currently based in Canada, where he runs an Islamic centre, was allegedly one of the key financiers of the operation. Officials have not ruled out a terror angle to the Agra conversion case and are currently exploring links between this group and a similar racket operating from Balrampur's Chhangur area, which was previously exposed. As the investigation deepens, Indian security agencies are working to uncover the full extent of ISI's alleged involvement in funding and orchestrating religious conversions with potential links to anti-national activities.

Bindu slams participating VCs

T'puram/Kochi: Higher education minister R Bindu criticised university vice-chancellors for attending the Njana Sabha, an educational conclave organised by an RSS affiliate. Bindu stated the conclave was part of Sangh Parivar agenda to tarnish the world-renowned academic atmosphere in Kerala. "It has now come to light that the meeting by the pro-RSS people aimed at undermining the authority of vice-chancellors by saffronising their position. It's a move to undo the history and future of Kerala," Bindu said. "These VCs will have to hang their heads down before the academic society throughout the future," she said. Meanwhile, Kufos VC A Biju Kumar denied the allegations in a statement issued on Monday. "I had the opportunity to participate in the parallel education seminar titled 'Educational Transformation: Kerala – Potential and Possibilities', jointly organized by the Association of Indian Universities, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas. I was invited to present my views. However, I did not attend the inaugural session of the 'Jnana Sabha' or the VCs' meeting held on 28 July," Kumar

Only by acknowledging diversity can India progress, says D. Raja

Senior CPI leader D. Raja said on Monday in Chennai that communists and followers of Periyar and Ambedkar should come together to oppose the BJP-RSS combine's attempts to undermine Parliament and parliamentary democracy. Addressing a function organised to release the book Kaalamthorum Communists by writer Jeevabharathi, he said India could progress only if its tremendous diversity was acknowledged. 'India is a 'Union of States', not a unitary State. The BJP seeks to do away with parliamentary democracy. Democracy will die if Parliament becomes redundant. It happened in Germany during Hitler's regime,' he said. Mr. Raja said it was the need of the hour for communists to work closely with Periyarists and Ambedkarists to liberate people from exploitation and inequality. CPI(M) State secretary P. Shanmugam said communists, who had fought uncompromisingly for the uplift and rights of the people and spent many years in jail, had also campaigned for prison reforms. 'We still need many reforms. There are no doors on toilets. When I was in jail, I requested officials to fix at least half a door,' he said, urging State Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu to bring the issue to the attention of the government. Mr. Shanmugam called upon members of the communist parties to read both volumes of the book and spread the message of their commitment to the people. Mr. Thennarasu, who participated on behalf of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, said while times could change, the commitment of communists does not. 'Communists are constantly fighting for the people,' he said. He also read out a message from the Chief Minister. 'Our leader Kalaignar (M. Karunanidhi) had faith in communism as an ideology because it was important for humanity, our people, and our land. His writings and approach were strongly influenced by communism. That was why he said he would have become a communist had he not met Anna (C.N. Annadurai),' the Chief Minister stated. He added the Slum Clearance Board and the abolition of hand-pulled rickshaws were shaped by communist ideology. 'The pioneers of the Dravidian Movement firmly believed that political freedom should be accompanied by freedom from social oppression and class-based inequality,' he said, noting the book would serve as a guide for society. CPI state secretary R. Mutharasan, lyricist Vairamuthu, and NCBH chairman Stalin Gunasekaran also participated.
