The two-week event runs from 28 May until 11 June at PlayStation Direct, the official online storefront for everything from consoles and accessories to games and more. PlayStation Direct is also where you'll find Flex, a leasing option which gets you a console for as little as £10.99 per month.
The headline act in this year's Days of Play sale is a hefty £90 saving on the PlayStation 5 console itself, but we're also seeing price drops of up to 60 per cent across some of the PS5's best games, including remastered classics like The Last of Us and the unmissable platformer Astro Bot.
The PSVR2 gets some love in this year's sale too, with a surprise discount of £45 bringing the price of the virtual reality headset (plus the hardware's best game, Horizon: Call of the Mountain) down to £354.99. The new PS5 Pro doesn't miss out on the action either, getting a rare £45 discount for the duration of the two-week sale.

In my PS5 review, I called the PlayStation 'this generation's must-have home console' thanks to its stellar library of exclusive games. If that didn't convince you, maybe this £90 saving will – the time-limited discount applies to both the digital and disc editions of the console.
I've highlighted the disc edition here, which is essential if you've got a collection of physical PS4 and PS5 games (or Blu-ray movies) hanging around at home.
You'll find the same £90 discount applied to the cheaper, all-digital version of the PlayStation 5. As the name suggests, this model doesn't come with a disc drive but plays games downloaded from PlayStation Direct. Perfect if you've done away with dusty old physical media.
Not sure which edition to get? Handily the digital-edition PS5 can be upgraded with a disc drive later if you ever change your mind.
That £90 discount on the PS5 also applies to the official DualSense console bundle, which packs an extra wireless controller in the box and is essential if you plan on multiplayer gaming at home.
The DualSense controller is an impressive piece of technology in its own right, and uses dynamic vibrations and actuators in the shoulder buttons to simulate everything from weapon recoil to throttle response in racing games.
The upgraded version of the original PS5 launched in 2024 and gave Sony's console a massive spec bump, including double the internal storage and more rendering power.
'Featuring 8K graphics, more internal memory, improved ray tracing and upscaling, the PS5 Pro is the best console out right now, blowing the Xbox Series X out of the water,' said tech writer, Alex, in their PS5 Pro review.

The PSVR2 has to be experienced to be believed, teleporting your easily duped brain into spookily convincing virtual reality worlds. My PSVR2 review called it 'one of the best and easiest-to-use VR headsets you can buy today', adding that 'if you own a PS5 and want to tap into the wide and growing library of fascinating VR experiences that already exist, there's no simpler way to do it.'
The hardware's standout title is easily Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a stunningly immersive white-knuckle adventure that blends climbing and archery combat. Right now there's £55 off at PlayStation Direct.
Still reeling from the second season of The Last of Us? There's no better time to jump back into the games that inspired the show. Both parts of Naughty Dog's celebrated third-person zombie shooter – including the remastered second game – are discounted in the Days of Play sale.
Here's a small saving on one of the best games of this generation. Astro Bot is PlayStation at its most Nintendo, a colourful and bouncy 3D platformer that's endlessly delightful and makes clever use of the DualSense controller's new features. Right now there's £8 off at PlayStation Direct.

Revealing his daily meal plan in a YouTube video, Bjornsson said every morning begins with three eggs, 1lb of cooked rice, half a cup of strawberries and two cups of milk. He also has a shake that consists of one cup of orange juice, nearly one cup of Skyr yogurt and half a cup of blueberries. He then returns to the kitchen for a 'snack' of a 4oz steak, nearly two more cups of rice, half a cup of vegetables and an avocado. Björnsson and his wife lost their second baby after suffering from a miscarriage. In a lengthy post, the couple addressed their daughter: 'One year. 365 days have passed since your day of birth. 366 days have passed since we learned of your death in my womb. US and EU clinch trade deal to avert prohibitive US tariffs, Trump says
The United States has struck a framework trade deal with Europe, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday, averting a spiralling row between two allies who account for almost a third of global trade. The deal, that includes a 15 per cent tariff on EU goods entering the U.S. and significant EU purchases of U.S. energy and military equipment, will bring welcome clarity for EU companies. Advertisement However, the baseline tariff of 15 per cent will be seen by many in Europe as a poor outcome compared to the initial European ambition of a zero-for-zero tariff deal, although it is better than the threatened 30 per cent rate. The announcement came after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen travelled to Scotland for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump to push a hard-fought deal over the line. Trump, who is seeking to reorder the global economy and reduce decades-old U.S. trade deficits, has so far reeled in agreements with Britain, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam, although his administration has failed to deliver on a promise of "90 deals in 90 days." Trump has periodically railed against the European Union saying it was "formed to screw the United States" on trade. His main bugbear is the U.S. merchandise trade deficit with the EU, which in 2024 reached $235 billion, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. The EU points to the U.S. surplus in services, which it says partially redresses the balance.

‘America's favourite dancer' joins Strictly line-up
'America's favourite dancer' will join Strictly Come Dancing. Alexis Warr, who was given the accolade in 2022 for winning the television show So You Think You Can Dance, will seek to make a similar impression on British audiences when the new series airs this autumn. She will be joined by another newcomer, Julian Caillon, the Australian ballroom dancer and physiologist. The announcement comes amid changes to the Strictly line-up following a series of scandals on the show. Giovanni Pernice was left out of the 2024 line-up following an accusation by Amanda Abbington, the actress and former dance partner, of 'inappropriate, mean, nasty and bullying' behaviour in training. He was cleared of any physical wrongdoing following a BBC investigation, but a complaint was upheld for his use of 'belittling' language. Fellow Italian Graziano di Prima was initially confirmed for the 2024 series, but was let go by the BBC after reports of misconduct with his partner Zara McDermott. In an Instagram post at the time, he wrote: 'I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. Respecting the BBC HR process, I understand it's best for the show that I step away.' Warr said: 'I've admired Strictly for years, so joining this incredible family is such an honour. I can't wait to step into the ballroom, pour my heart into every moment, and share my love of dance with the UK.' Caillon, who shares videos on social media of his work training with the elderly, added: 'I've watched it for years, especially cheering on all the amazing dancers I know and work with who've been part of it. I can't wait to get stuck in, have some fun, and be part of something special.'
