‘I'm reclaiming what's mine': Pinky Cole talks about buying back business she started
The 'Slutty Vegan' founder appeared on the Tamron Hall show on Monday and spoke out about losing the business.
'This truly has been a unicorn experience for me,' Cole Hayes said.
She said she was forced to give up control of the company in February because 'financially, I couldn't do it anymore.'
'Mentally, I was dying on the inside,' Cole Hayes said.
Cole Hayes ended up losing her business for 43 days.
'Those 43 days had to feel like a lifetime,' Hall asked Cole Hayes.

'In those 43 days I met God, and this situation had to take me down to my knees so that I could meet God in a whole other way, and I'm so grateful for that,' Cole Hayes said.
She said when she realized there were problems within the company, she had to start 'looking under the hood' at what was going on, which was hard.
'I felt a lot of guilt,' Cole Hayes said. 'I started beating myself up, at first.'
'You were able to come back and buy your company back with your own money, so you are now the owner of the company you started?' Hall asked Cole Hayes.
'I am the owner of the company,' Cole Hayes said. 'It is mine, it belongs to me. And I am showing every single entrepreneur out there, sometimes this industry gets really predatory, and I'm reclaiming what's mine, and I'm happy about that.'
The entrepreneur revealed a re-vamped 'Slutty Vegan 2.0,' which includes new vegan sandwiches.

With Trump's support, Gruters path to lead RNC moving smoothly
Gruters had been on a 2026 collision course with Blaise Ingoglia, a staunch supporter of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. Gruters was planning to run for chief financial officer, a statewide elected position even though Ingoglia was recently appointed to the job by DeSantis. The job had come open after Jimmy Patronis resigned to run for the congressional seat that had be held by former Rep. Matt Gaetz. Patronis won that seat in a special election earlier this year. Ingoglia was sworn into his new job last month and just days after two top Trump advisers announced they were going to help Gruters campaign against him. Then just days later Whatley said he was going to run for Senate. Trump endorsed Whatley and simultaneously backed Gruters to take over as RNC chair. 'Fortunately, I have somebody who will do a wonderful job as the Chairman of the RNC,' he wrote in a social media post. 'His name is, Joe Gruters, and he will have my Complete and Total Endorsement.' Last Friday Trump repeated his support of Gruters in another social media post where he called him a 'MAGA warrior, who has been with us from the very beginning.' Trump said that Gruters had 'helped us deliver massive and historic Victories across the state.' 'As RNC Treasurer, Joe has been a Fierce Advocate for our Movement, and fought tirelessly to ensure a highly functioning, fiscally responsible, and financially successful RNC,' Trump wrote. 'He will be a wonderful Chairman!' Gruters, 48, is an accountant and former chair of the Republican Party of Florida who has spent nine years in the Florida Legislature, including the past seven in the state Senate. He has had notable clashes with DeSantis and backed Trump over DeSantis when the governor mounted his unsuccessful run for president during the 2024 election cycle. DeSantis just last month castigated Gruters and contended he was out of step with conservatives, noting his support of an immigration bill that DeSantis vetoed as well as his support for a constitutional amendment that would have legalized recreational marijuana in the state. (Trump backed that amendment as well.) 'Joe Gruters has taken major positions that are totally contrary from what our voter base wants to do,' DeSantis said during his press conference where he announced he was appointing Ingoglia. 'So if George Washington rose from the dead and came back and tapped me on the shoulder and said, 'Will you appoint Joe Gruters CFO?' My response would be 'no.' I can't do that without betraying the voters that elected me to lead this state in a conservative direction.' Gruters was already term-limited in the state Senate and state Rep. James Buchanan, the son of Rep. Vern Buchanan. is already running for Gruters' seat. It is not clear if Gruters intends to resign his state Senate seat early after he is formally chosen as RNC chair. A spokesperson for Gruters said Tuesday there would be no decision on that until after the RNC election.

Gov. Youngkin announces removal of toll collection on Coleman Bridge
YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Governor Glenn Youngkin announced Tuesday morning a plan to remove the toll collection for the George P. Coleman Bridge. According to a release, the elimination, which is scheduled to take place on Aug. 8, will help Virginians nearly $60 million. This comes after Youngkin's 2025 budget amendment which called for the elimination of tolls on the Coleman Bridge by Jan. 1, 2026. Potential end to Coleman Bridge tolls could spark growth in Gloucester 'Eliminating tolls on the Coleman Bridge is more than just a financial decision, it's a commitment to easing the burden on families, commuters, and local businesses who rely on this vital connection every day,' Youngkin said. 'By removing this toll, we are putting nearly $60 million back into the pockets of hardworking Virginians, allowing them to keep more of their hard-earned money and strengthen our local economy. This move also reflects our broader dedication to making life more affordable and accessible across the Commonwealth, supporting economic growth while enhancing the quality of life for all Virginians.' Currently, the tolls for the Coleman Bridge, which helps to connect York and Gloucester Counties, are collected from northbound traffic and helps to generate nearly $6 million each year. A release states that around half of those funds go towards toll collection operations. While the Commonwealth has already repaid the legally obligated bond debt for the 1996 expansion of the bridge, the release said there is still an additional $29.6 million in outstanding debt owed to Virginia's Toll Facility Revolving Account — which would require tolling collections through 2034 to completely repay. 'The Commonwealth of Virginia has fulfilled its obligation to repay the bond debt for the Coleman Bridge, so it's time to stop asking Virginians to pay tolls on this facility, and we are doing so five months early,' Virginia Secretary of Transportation W. Sheppard Miller III said. 'There are extensive costs required to continue tolling, and we believe that the toll money collected would be better off in the hands of taxpayers.' The release also states that in order for the tolling collection on the Coleman Bridge to continue, there would need to be a nearly $5 million investment to continue operations. Through eliminating the toll, the investment to prolong the useful life of the toll infrastructure would not be needed. As part of the work to remove the tolling signage on the Coleman Bridge, a single-lane closure is expected to take place starting at 9 p.m. on Aug. 8 for the northbound lanes of Route 17. Upon completion, traffic will continually shift to the right until the entire toll plaza has been demolished. 'Working together, we were finally able to bring an end to the tolls on the Coleman Bridge,' Senate Republican Leader Ryan T. McDougle said. 'This is a win for Gloucester, Mathews, and our entire region — putting more money back into the pockets of hardworking Virginians and easing the burden on families who rely on this vital connection every day.'
