Meghan Markle reveals Prince Harry's unhealthy eating habits

Yahoo04-03-2025
Meghan Markle has shed light on her husband Prince Harry's eating habits as she launches her new cooking show, With Love, Meghan.
The Netflix show was originally due to be released in January but was postponed due to the California wildfires. The series consists of eight 33 minute-long episodes, with special appearances from some of the former actor's friends including Mindy Kaling and one of her former Suits co-stars, Abigail Spencer.
During the series, the 43-year-old hints at her life behind the scenes, as she refers to making her children breakfast in the morning and 'doing the school run'.
Using organic ingredients, including tomatoes and herbs sourced from her own garden, the Duchess of Sussex shared her love for making things from scratch, including food but also bath salts, candles, and balloon arches.
In episode two, 'Welcome to the Party', Markle cooked with Office US star Kaling. As she prepared ahead of their meeting, she cut up some vegetables.
'I'll make some bacon too. I find when I'm cooking bacon, my kitchen very immediately becomes full of husband and three dogs,' she said. 'It's not my perfume that's bringing them all in. My bacon brings all the boys to the yard.'
Later, she revealed Prince Harry's love for salt. As Kaling asked how she manages to season her food so perfectly, Markle explained that Harry's influence has prompted her to be more careful.
'Well, I have a family, a husband, who no matter what meal is put in front of him, before he tastes it, puts salt on,' she said. 'So I try to under-salt.'
'I love knowing that your husband likes it salty,' Kaling replied.
In episode three, 'Two Kids from LA', Markle is joined by chef Roy Choi as they bond over growing up in Los Angeles. As Choi teaches Markle how to cook flavoursome Korean fried chicken, Markle added that Harry 'loves fried chicken'.
The show marks Markle's second program with Netflix after 2022's Harry & Meghan tell-all royal docuseries, which was watched by over 2.4 million people on its launch day.
The Duchess – who runs her yet-to-be-launched lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which was recently rebranded As Ever – explains that her program is about 'connecting with friends' and making new ones in a trailer for the series.

Leo Season Combined With Mercury In Retrograde Brings Bold Energy — and Major Drama

There won't be a shortage of scroll-stopping moments in the final weeks of July. Leo season kicks off on the 22nd, followed by a Leo new moon on the 24th. Oh, and Mercury is retrograde in Leo from July 18 to August 11. This cosmic recipe is stacked for drama. The only question is: Will you play an active role in the performance—or nibble on popcorn and make it a spectator sport? No matter your choice this Leo season, it wouldn't hurt to borrow the 'sensitive gangster' vibe of Love Island USA season 7 winner Amaya Espinal. Lead with your heart—but don't let people toy with your emotions. And if that means keeping your options open until someone comes along who fits the bill? So be it. Like 'Amaya Papaya,' you might just come out the winner. You can read your daily horoscope here Another Leo-coded hero to look to this month? Jessica, the fun, messy main character played by Megan Stalter in Lena Dunham's new Netflix series, Too Much. (Though we don't necessarily condone breaking into your ex's apartment or discussing UTIs at your boss's dinner party.) Even so, Stalter's Jessica lets it all hang out, which is exactly what captures the heart of British indie rocker Felix, played by Will Sharpe. This is Leo season gold! But beware: It's definitely possible to hit the oversaturation point this summer. Once Mercury is in retrograde, endearing traits can suddenly feel performative. Behaviours that once garnered rave reviews could get the old 'not tonight, babe.' And if that goes down? Well, with Mercury in reverse, self-reflection is warranted. Is it them? Is it you? Is it both of you? We like to think of self-expression happening in two separate fields: the individual field and the relational field. The individual field is all about you doing you—other people's opinions be damned. The relational field demands accountability. Are you tuning in to the other person's energy? Are you interested in meeting them where they are, while also being your authentic self? This is a skill worth polishing. At its best, Leo energy feels more like interactive theater than a Broadway performance. While Leo season is usually a time for unfettered experimentation, in 2025, we'll need to pull back a touch. But don't stem the tide of ideas that flow in. There will be many, especially near the Leo new moon on July 24. Capture them all for consideration in your Notes app, on a mood board, whatever. There are bound to be some gems in there. Mercury retrograde is a great time for reviewing all the half-started projects and plans that are gathering dust in your archives. Just save any hard launches for Virgo season, when common sense prevails once again. In the meantime, make the most of Leo's playful vibes. Dance on rooftops, flirt at swim-up bars, meet friends for umbrella drinks and ridiculous gossip. This is the zodiac sign ruled by the life-giving sun, after all, and it's time we all enjoyed that shine. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. This True Crime Documentary Just Knocked Squid Game Off The Top Spot On Netflix UK

Following weeks at the top of Netflix UK, Squid Game season 3 has officially been toppled off the streamer's top spot for most popular show. The hit Korean drama returned for its third and final season on June 27, bringing creator-director Hwang Dong-hyuk's overnight phenomenon to an epic end. The dystopian thriller, which debuted in 2021, revolves around a secret contest in which 456 cash-strapped players compete in a series of children's games for a multimillion-dollar prize — however, the stakes are deadly. The final series culminated in a bloody conclusion to the games, while leaving the door open for potential spin-offs. However, at the time of writing, it's now slipped down to position number three. The question is… what two shows managed to best it? The new number one show in the UK on Netflix a new three-part docuseries which investigates the case of missing 23 year old Amy Bradley, who vanished on a Caribbean cruise with her family in March 1998. The twist-filled 3 documentary mystery explores the theories still surrounding the case over 20 years later – and her family's desperate search for the truth. You can watch a trailer for the new charttopping series below: Meanwhile, second place on Netflix UK's top shows has been taken by new original limited series Untamed. Starring Eric Bana as a federal agent, the show follows his character's exploration of lawless national park terrain to hunt for a woman's killer. However, his investigation into her murder unearths dark secrets within the park, including his own – OOOOOOOH. The mystery thriller also stars Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Santiago and Wilson Bethel – all six episodes began streaming July 17, and judging from its current second place position on Netflix, it's proven to be popular. Netflix just added this crime drama you (probably) haven't seen — and there's 3 seasons to binge-watch right now

Netflix is giving a Starz crime drama a second shot at finding its audience after it was removed from the streaming service mere weeks after the show ended. As of today (July 23), all three seasons of Rebecca Cutter's gritty crime series "Hightown" are now available to watch on the streamer in the US. The series originally aired on Starz and ran for 25 episodes, spread across three seasons between 2020 and 2024. The finale aired on March 8, 2024... and Starz promptly removed it at the end of that same month. Now that it's on Netflix, I am sure there's a chance that "Hightown" could well have a second life. Trying to decide whether to stream "Hightown" on Netflix? You can find more info about the crime drama below. "Hightown" is a crime drama set in Provincetown, Massachusetts. There, we meet Jackie Quiñones (Monica Raymund), a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service Agent struggling with addiction. When she discovers the body of a murdered woman, Jackie's life is upended and she attempts to start working towards sobriety... but grows convinced it's down to her to solve the murder. At odds with Sergeant Ray Abruzzo (James Badge Dale), one of the men investigating organized crime in the region, and the local opioid epidemic. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. In addition to Raymund and Dale, the series also stars Riley Voelkel, Shane Harper. Atkins Estimond, Amaury Nolasco, and Dohn Norwood, among others. "Hightown" seems well-suited to become a Netflix hit. Crime dramas usually play well on the streamer (soapy family crime drama "The Waterfront" is a recent successful example), and it comes reasonably well-recommended. At the time of writing, the show's first season holds an 80% approval rating on the review aggregator, Rotten Tomatoes, indicating generally favorable reactions (other seasons do not have a score, at present), and the site's consensus reads: "Monica Raymund's charms rise above any formulaic tendencies in "Hightown's" highly entertaining first season." Reviewing the first season for The Hollywood Reporter, Inkoo Kang called the show "competently crafted, if not particularly memorable," adding: ""Hightown" doesn't ever reach full beach-noir status, but it does grow organically darker and more heartbreaking as the season progresses." Matt Fagerholm, meanwhile, said: "what prevents 'Hightown' from devolving into a drag is the enormous appeal of its leading lady, Raymund, who doesn't shy away from flashing smiles of exhilaration when she finds herself capable of being the hero after all." The Guardian's Lucy Mangan gave the show a 3-star rating, calling it a "slick but sombre" affair, describing the series as having " a solid, formulaic base" but succeeding because it "has such a gift in Raymund as Quiñones", adding: ""Hightown" itself probably won't win any awards – although it does undoubtedly deserve the particular praise reserved for all things that are better than they need to be - but she [Quiñones] should." Some of the audience reactions on the platform are pretty positive, too; I'm seeing plenty of top ratings and praise for both the performances and the writing (though others weren't so taken with the show or some of its content). On balance, though, if you were looking for a new crime drama to occupy your time, then "Hightown" sounds like it could be worth adding to your Netflix watchlist. If you've already seen "Hightown", or it doesn't sound like your kind of show, we can still help you find something new to stream.
