Jennifer Garner to Star in TV Adaptation "The Five-Star Weekend" at Peacock

Peacock has ordered a series adaptation of the Elin Hilderbrand novel 'The Five-Star Weekend' with Jennifer Garner attached to star.
The project was first reported to be in development at Peacock in April 2024 as part of Sue Naegle and Ali Krug's overall deal with UCP under their Dinner Party Productions banner.
The official description of the series states: 'Hollis Shaw (Garner), a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis's picture-perfect life—her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her followers. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, they will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.'
Bekah Brunstetter serves as creator, writer, and executive producer on 'The Five-Star Weekend,' with Beth Schacter also writing and executive producing.
Garner will executive produce in addition to starring. Naegle and Krug executive produce via Dinner Party, with Hilderbrand also executive producing. UCP is the studio.
This will be the second of Hilderbrand's novels to be adapted for the small screen. Previously, Netflix adapted Hilderbrand's novel 'The Perfect Couple' into a hit miniseries starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, and Dakota Fanning. That show debuted in September 2024 and spent six weeks on the Netflix English-language TV top 10 chart.
Garner previously received four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her starring role in the hit ABC series 'Alias.'
Currently, she stars in the Apple TV+ series 'The Last Thing He Told Me,' which is prepping its second season. Her other recent TV credits include the 'Party Down' revival at Starz and 'Camping' at HBO.
In the film, Garner is known for starring in features like 'Dallas Buyers Club,' 'Love, Simon,' and '13 Going on 30.' She reprised the role of Elektra Natchios — whom she played in both 2003's 'Daredevil' and the standalone 'Elektra' film — in the 2024 blockbuster 'Deadpool & Wolverine.'

"The X-Files" Composer Mark Snow Passes Away at 78

Yara Sameh Mark Snow, the Emmy-nominated composer behind the beloved "X-Files" theme song, has passed away. He was 78. Snow died Friday at his home in Connecticut. Sean Callery, a fellow composer and friend of Snow's, announced his death on Facebook. 'Mark Snow, and one of the most wonderful and talented people I've ever known, has passed away,' he wrote in the Friday post. '33 years ago he began mentoring me as an artist. Who knew that I was also at the beginning of a deep friendship that would only grow and evolve over 3 decades along with our graying hair and tighter deadlines.' Callery added: 'I am so grateful to him for his sage counsel and his laugh-out-loud biting wit. My career got started by an act of generosity on his part 33 years ago – period, full stop. I love you my friend. There will never ever be another like you. I send love to Glynnis and all his children and grandchildren during this time.' Snow notably composed the iconic opening theme for "The X-Files". He worked on the series during its full time on-air from 1993 until its end in 2018. Aside from the theme song, he worked on the rest of the show's music, earning six Emmy nominations throughout his X-Files tenure. Snow, too, served as the composer of the franchise's 1998 film, "The X Files". A 15-time Emmy-nominated composer, Snow lent his talents to a slew of shows, including "Blue Bloods," "Smallville," "One Tree Hill," "Children of the Dust," and "Ghost Whisperer", among others. His work has also appeared across film, including features in "The New Mutants," "Ernest Saves Christmas," and "Crazy in Alabama". Snow also frequently worked on TV movies. Some of his past credits include "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble", one of his first projects he worked on in 1976 that starred John Travolta, "Overboard," "Casino," "Angel City," "Malibu," "California Girls," "The Lost Capone," "An American Story," "A Stranger in Town," "Trial by Fire," "The Perfect Mother," "Paradise," and "Strange Calls." read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Amr Diab ignites summer with new album Ebtadena - Music - Arts & Culture

Superstar Amr Diab has just released his latest music album titled Ebtadena (We Started) on digital platforms and the Anghami app on Thursday. In the new album, composed of 15 songs, Diab collaborates with several well-known lyricists, including Amr Teima, Tamer Hussein, Bahaa Eldin Mohamed, Mohamed El-Kayaty, Moustafa Hadouta, and Ayman Bahgat Kamar, among others. Some songs on the album feature English lyrics penned by Abdallah and Jana Diab, Amr Diab's children, who are also featured in the songs "Yalla" and "Khatfoony". "You're so annoying, you know just how to talk to me. I need attention, but you're too precious. I know I should leave you, but I find it hard to go," Jana Diab joins her father in Khatfoony. Amr Mostafa composed this cheerful tune in what audiences deem a long-awaited reunion with Amr Diab, with whom Mostafa had collaborated on hits such as Khallik Fakerni (1999), Ahebak Akrahak (2001), Hala Hala (2011), and dozens of others. Mostafa also composed the title song, which fuses Latin-inspired melodies, a hallmark of Diab's. Other composers of the album include Aziz El-Shafaei, Mohamed Yehia, and Islam Zaki, alongside works by Diab himself. Just hours after release, the album began trending on YouTube. Khabar Abyad, Malish Badeel, Habibty Malak, Baba, Ya Bakhto, among other tunes, have all surpassed 40,000 views just hours after their release. The 63-year-old megastar remains among the most-listened-to artists on streaming platforms. Thousands attend his live concerts. Throughout his decades-long career, the singer has released more than 30 albums and garnered numerous regional and international accolades. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Zeyne Reclaims What ‘Hilwa' Really Means in Empowering New Single

Over a cacophony of tabla percussions and joyful ululations, Zeyne's heartfelt lyrics celebrate Arab women and promote a message of self-acceptance to those pressured to look perfect. Jul 04, 2025 Palestinian-Jordanian artist Zeyne unveils 'Hilwa', a potent self-love anthem and the third preview single from her upcoming debut album, which is set to release this year. 'Hilwa', which means 'beautiful' in English, sends a tender message of empowerment and self-acceptance to Arab women who feel pressured to look perfect due to the unrealistic, Western-centric beauty standards we are drowning in every day. Through heartfelt lyrics, Zeyne cuts through the noise, offering a reminder that true beauty transcends external expectations and that self-love is often nurtured by the love and memories of those who came before us. Over a cacophony of tabla percussions, major keys, and rababa strings imbued with R&B influences, Zeyne pays homage to her mother and grandmother, highlighting the strength and individuality passed down through generations, amidst intersections of joyful ululations that are commonly known in celebratory gatherings in the Arab world.
