Crime rate drops by 27% in Sri Sathya Sai district
The SP reported a 36 per cent drop in murders and attempted murders, with the district ranking among seven in Andhra Pradesh recording a 41 per cent reduction in crime. She credited this success to a year-long special action plan and coordinated police efforts.
Key discussions included progress on grave and non-grave cases, murder, POCSO, rape, dacoity, robbery, property crimes, vehicle thefts, missing persons, cheating cases, and road accidents . Updates on pending files, NBWs, and NDPS cases were also presented.
Enhanced surveillance through CCTVs and drones, along with a planned Command Control system in Kadiri, aims to curb crimes against women and children. Initiatives like rowdy-sheeter counseling, Shakti app awareness campaigns, and community policing have further strengthened law enforcement.
Preparations are underway for the Ganesh festival and Sri Sathya Sai Baba's centenary celebrations , expected to attract VIPs and devotees nationwide. SP Ratna thanked the District Collector for support, ensuring inter-departmental coordination for public safety.
Additional public prosecutor Srujana stressed focusing on missing minor girls in POCSO cases, while transport officer Karunasagar Reddy discussed road safety measures .
In recognition of outstanding service, 57 police personnel received appreciation certificates for speedy investigations, swift arrests, and reducing pending cases.
DCO Ram Naik, ICDS PD Sridevi, fire officer Madhava Naidu, APPs, DSPs, and police inspectors from across the district were present.

Police said Mansoor remained absconding for nearly eight months before being arrested on July 2 this year. A detailed charge sheet was filed after Inspector Gururaj and his successor Rajendra B. conducted a thorough investigation, gathering key digital and testimonial evidence. The Fast Track Special Court (FTSC-2), presided over by Judge Manu K.S., delivered the judgement after hearing arguments by Special Public Prosecutor Sahanadevi Boluru and Government Advocate Badrinath. The verdict has been welcomed by child rights advocates and police officials as a message of zero tolerance towards crimes against children. Agra: A Pocso court in Firozabad has sentenced a 19-year-old man to life in jail "till his last breath" for the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in June. His parents and brother, 22, were given seven years of prison term each for concealing the crime. The trial proceedings were completed in 25 working days. The Class 4 student, who hailed from Hathras, was on a visit to her grandmother's place during her summer vacation when the crime was committed. As per details obtained from additional district govt counsel (ADGC), Awdhesh Bhardwaj, the child went missing while playing outside the grandmother's home. "Probe revealed that a man, living next door, sent the child to buy food from a nearby shop that day." Cops eventually nabbed the main accused following a brief encounter. An illegal weapon and the child's neck chain were found on him. During questioning, he confessed and led officers to his house the next day, where the girl's body was recovered from a sack hidden under a pile of bricks. She had been raped and strangled, police said. Considering the heinous nature of the crime, the investigating team took up the case on priority. Police said the entire case procedure from the time of investigation to conviction took about 44 days. Cops added that the technical analysis, forensic reports and physical evidence data "were completed swiftly and a scientifically-backed 135-page chargesheet was filed in the court within a week". Special (Pocso) court judge, Mumtaz Ali, found all four accused guilty and delivered the verdict on Wednesday. The 19-year-old was fined Rs 1.4 lakh while his parents and 22-year-old brother were fined Rs 20,000 each.

Bhagalpur admin issues externment order against two criminals
Bhagalpur: District administration on Thursday issued an externment order against two hardcore criminals to maintain law and order, and prevent criminal activities in Naugachia police district in Bhagalpur. The criminals, who received externment orders, were directed to report to the Rajoun police station in Banka district each day. Naugachia and Banka police have been asked to ensure that the criminals do not violate the orders. Bhagalpur DM Nawal Kishor Choudhary ordered the externment order against Kamdev Yadav, son of Ganesh Yadav, a resident of Tintanga Karari Diara area under Gopalpur police station, and Gourav Yadav alias Botal Yadav, a resident of Naya Tola Bhawanpura village under Kharik police station. Naugachia SP Prerna Kumar said 14 serious cases are registered against Kamdev Yadav at Gopalpur police station, along with two complaint cases. Meanwhile, 13 serious cases, including nine in Kharik police station, one in Naugachia Rail police station, and three in River police station, are registered against Gourav Yadav. The order was issued by invoking Section 3 of the Bihar Control of Crimes Act of 1981. This order restricts the criminals from entering, residing, or remaining in a district. The DM, in its order, directed the Naugachia SP to ensure that the order be implemented immediately. Banka SP was also directed to ensure that the criminals report in person to the police station daily.
