Two Perth locals won BIG in Friday's Millionaire Medley draw
Beginner's luck has paid off big time for one Perth local, who 'couldn't believe' he claimed a division one win on his first ever Slikpik.
The north of the river man – who purchased the ticket from Flinders Square Lucky Lotto in Yokine – usually played the lotto with his favourite numbers, but this time made the last-minute decision not to.
'For no reason at all, I thought I'd get a Slikpik for the first time,' he said.
That decision proved to be the right one, with the semi-retired man scoring a $1 million Millionaire Medley win.
'When the machine said I was a winner, I showed the owner and he discreetly pointed to the 'Division One win sold here' sign with a smile on his face,' he said.
The man has said he will use his winnings to fully retire, enjoy more time on the golf course, and help out his family.
A FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) worker from Perth's eastern suburbs also won a $1 million prize in the same Millionaire Medley draw.
The winning numbers that changed the pair's life were 4, 5, 13, 19, 26, 37 and the supps were 9, 17.
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said WA celebrated a total of five division one wins last weekend, taking this year's tally to 40 winners who have shared more than $75 million in prizes.
'It's wonderful meeting these winners and hearing how their lives will change for the better,' she said
Tickets are available for tonight's $12 million Powerball jackpot until 6pm today in-store, online and via the Lotterywest app.

Saturday draw creates a Morley millionaire
A Morley ticketholder had more than a million reasons to celebrate over the weekend after scooping up the division one win in Saturday's lotto draw. The winning slip was nabbed from The Lucky Charm Morley, with the winner being one of four Aussies that became $1,629,922 richer from the division one prize - the other tickets came from Victoria and two in Queensland. WA had a further 11 winners from the division two draw, each taking home a handy $13,577. The luck continued with 168 sandgropers pocketing $960 from the division three prize.
