The Canadian singer was meant to be going on a 32-date tour across the states
JP Saxe, who in 2021 was nominated for hit song If The World Was Ending with singer Julia Michaels, shared a video four days ago saying that unless he sold 20,000 more tickets, the tour would have to be pulled.
'I'm extremely embarrassed to tell you this, but I'm going to tell you anyway,' JP Saxe said in videos posted to Instagram and TikTok.
'If I don't sell 20 or so thousand tickets to my tour in the next 48 hours, it's going to be cancelled.
'If we're just not in a place yet to sell out these 2,000-, 3,000-cap venues – that's fine. It's always been my goal to connect deeply, not widely, and I stand by that.
'But just in case you were waiting till the week of or night of to buy a ticket – that approach just isn't going to work, because there won't be a show to buy a ticket to.
'So whether that happens or not, I'm grateful to you for caring about my songs, and I hold on to a sliver of hope that I will see you in the fall.'
The Make Yourself At Home tour was planned to run for 32 dates across America, starting in September and running through to the end of October.
Unfortunately, yesterday he confirmed that, despite an influx in sales, it wasn't enough to keep his tour afloat.
Thanking fans for selling a few thousand extra tickets, a follow-up video saw him tell fans: 'I am beyond grateful to every one of you who bought one.
'Those few thousand tickets are a reminder that being transparent in failure sometimes can be more powerful than the façade of success – a reminder of how wonderful it can be to ask for help and watch a community come together.
'This really was the nicest the internet has ever been to me.'
Tickets will be fully refunded to the original ticketbuyer, with Saxe saying they will 'come with a small side of immense gratitude from a dorky ginger Canadian'.
Following the announcement, Saxe also posted a guest column in Variety explaining the situation further, saying that while he was embarrassed, he felt like honesty was the best policy.
'The industry standard in this situation is to offer some ego-saving explanation – 'wrong timing', 'new opportunities,' 'a scheduling conflict,' 'illness,' 'global warming…'
'What you're not supposed to say is: 'Hey, I guess people aren't really f**king with me right now.'
'I aimed too high – my bad.'

Celebs Go Dating agents reveal the ‘real reason' Christine McGuiness quit the E4 show and admit it was a ‘brave' move

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE CELEBS Go Dating agents have revealed the "real reason" Christine McGuinness quit the E4 show just weeks into the process. The model - who was married to comedian Paddy McGuinness, 51, until their split in 2022 - signed up alongside six other famous faces in the bid to find love and get help on their dating life. In an exclusive interview, love gurus Anna Williamson, Paul C. Brunson and Dr Tara opened up Christine's sudden exit when The Sun visited the Celebs Go Dating agency ahead of the new series. Anna admitted Christine's decision to join the show after her public split was a "brave" move, and it equally took courage for her exit the process after discovering it "wasn't the right time" for her. Anna explained: "It wasn't the right time for Christine to continue her journey in the agency. "I think this is the absolute beauty of what the Celebrity Dating agency does - yes it's a TV show, but it's also real. "What myself, Paul, Dr Tara do, we are not scripted, our skill sets are something we very much practice on the outside as well as within the agency construct. "And for Christine it was very brave that she wanted to dip her toe back into the world of dating and throughout the process of us getting to know her, she realised that perhaps this actually wasn't quite the right time for her to be doing that and took a great deal of confidence and bravery inside to recognise and actually now is not the right time." Anna said that viewers will get to see a different side to Christine and revealed the mum-of-three did in fact go on dates during her short stint on the show. "Christine is a fascinating woman and I think viewers are going to really empathise with everything she brings to us and the show and the Dating Agency," Anna continued. "And Christine for the short amount of time she was with us, she wanted to date and date she did." Inside the Celebs Go Dating house with Anna Williamson and Dr. Tara ahead of the new series CGD EXIT The Sun revealed that Christine decided to quit the show in a surprise move. In a statement, Christine said: 'I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me. 'They've said the door is always open for me, which I'm so grateful for, but for now I'm returning home to my family.' Christine had spent a few days in Ibiza filming for the show with stars including Kerry Katona and Olivia Hawkins. Pals told The Sun she was looking forward to moving on and potentially finding love again. At the time, a source said: 'Christine has been through so much but she's ready to move on. 'When she signed up to Celebs Go Dating the production team were told she was open to dating women as well as men. 'Taking part in a TV show about finding love is all new for Christine but she's just having fun and is enjoying herself.' However those close to Christine said since she flew to Ibiza, she had struggled with putting her private life on camera. A friend added: 'Christine has decided that some things are important for her to keep private. 'She thought signing up to Celebs Go Dating was a good idea at first but now she feels overwhelmed by the attention. 'Christine has stepped away from the show and they have been really supportive of her and her decision. 'Her wellbeing was their main priority and Christine is looking forward to getting home to be with her family.' Christine and her ex, comedian Paddy McGuiness announced they had separated in 2022 after 15 years together. The couple first met through a mutual friend in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 33. Two years later, he popped the question and they married in 2011 at Merseyside's Thornton Manor Estate. The TV personality delighted her former co-stars when she made a surprise return to the series' finale in June. A insider told The Sun: "Christine's return was kept top secret from everyone, so they were all so excited to see her come back. "The cast were really sad when she quit the show, even though they totally supported and understood her reasons, so it was great to see her come back. "She started the journey with them all, so it was the perfect end that she got to finish the series with them too. "Christine may not have found love on the show, but she seemed really happy and in a great place. "Leaving the show was the right decision for her but she loved being back in the mix without the pressure of having to actually date on camera." People left freaked out after realising what Las Vegas looks like from a flight: 'It's so strange'

When thinking about Las Vegas, many people envision busy casinos, wild night life and dazzling lights. But footage of the bustling city, taken from the window of a plane, has left people baffled. In a clip on TikTok, posted by @beccastravel, a very square-looking neighbourhood, completely surrounded by vast desert can be seen. It has buildings and streets, but doesn't quite fit the vision that many have of Vegas. Text written over the video read: 'Flying into Vegas and realising it really is just surrounded by desert'. It left many confused, with some claiming the area shown in the clip was not Las Vegas. However, it is in fact a suburb in Southern Las Vegas. The TikToker captioned the baffling clip with, 'So weird how it just ends on one street! Imagine that being your back garden!' But one clip on TikTok posted by @beccastravel of the bustling city in Nevada has left people baffled Many were shocked by what they saw, and shared their thoughts in the comments. One baffled viewer said: 'Looks like a computer chip.' 'This looks like a motherboard from a laptop,' someone else quipped. While another penned: 'This looks like a simulation.' One person was surprised by the video and said: 'It's so strange.' Another asked: 'Why is it so small?' Someone else debated whether it was Vegas or not and said: 'I refuse to believe that's Vegas.' While one commented: 'Literally recorded the edge of Vegas.' The city is situated in the northeastern part of the Mojave Desert, which has a hot and dry climate. During the summer, it can reach extremely hot temperatures while in the winter it has been known to be mild. Previously, people who live on the edge of Vegas shared the views from their back gardens, including Crystal Wojtowich (@yourfaveazn) - with many saying it was 'terrifying' In her video, she opens up her back door to reveal a high brick wall surrounding her patio. She then pans the camera over the wall to reveal an absolutely barren desert behind.
