Approximately 1,500 Participants from 21 Youth & High School Programs will receive new equipment & apparel at training camp
Baltimore is hosting their Youth Football Day on Saturday, August 2nd at the Under Armour Performance Center, and approximately 1,500 Participants from 21 youth and high school programs will receive new equipment and apparel during practice.
The Ravens Foundation, Inc. has awarded grants to 28 nonprofit programs throughout the State of Maryland, it was announced Friday. As part of their ongoing dedication to improving youth sports in the region, the Baltimore Ravens and Under Armour provided grants for new sports apparel and equipment to more than 4,000 local young athletes from over 250 total youth football teams and other youth sports programs.
As part of this grant initiative, on Saturday, Aug. 2, the Ravens will host approximately 1,500 participants from 21 area youth and high school football programs at training camp to receive the new equipment and apparel.
The selected programs will serve diverse populations in 12 Maryland counties, including Anne Arundel, Baltimore City and County, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Howard, Harford, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, Talbot, and Washington. The grant awards also span into Milford, Del.
The grant is in Year 15, and continues to serve as a vital link between the Ravens and youth sports programs to help promote, improve, and facilitate the healthy development of children in the community. Each recipient utilizes the grant to purchase packages that include Under Armour jerseys, cleats, sports bras, Guardian Caps, field equipment, and emergency response accessories.

Ravens to sign D'Ernest Johnson

The Ravens are adding to their offensive backfield. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that they are signing former Browns and Jaguars running back D'Ernest Johnson. Johnson also worked out for the 49ers earlier this week, but the 49ers opted to sign Ameer Abdullah. Johnson spent the last two seasons in Jacksonville and ran 73 times for 251 yards. Johnson played his first four NFL seasons in Cleveland and had 141 carries for 378 yards and three touchdowns. He also has 53 career catches for 465 yards. Derrick Henry tops Baltimore's running back depth chart. Justice Hill, Keaton Mitchell, Rasheen Ali, and Marcus Major make up the rest of it.
