'Hope you get the best bed in heaven'- tearful tributes for teen killed in crash
Samantha Gannon, 19, suffered serious injuries on Ballygaddy Road when her car was involved in a two-vehicle collision at approximately 6:05pm on Sunday, July 13. Tragically, she passed away in hospital on Wednesday.
The driver and passenger in the second vehicle, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s, were also taken to University Hospital Galway for non-life-threatening injuries.
One girl who was close to Samantha told GalwayBeo the teenager had 'such a big heart' and was "so full of life".
"We are deeply devastated and heartbroken,' she said. 'Samantha you were full of life, you had such a big heart and we are all going to miss you so so much.

Other friends of Samantha have taken to social media to share their love for the teenager following her tragic passing.
One school friend penned: "A mortal sin had her whole life ahead of her, only 19. Many good memories in secondary school with her. Rest in peace, Samantha Gannon, may you get the best bed in heaven forever 19."
A second wrote: "Awful news, so so sad. Heartbreaking for her family. Her whole life ahead of her. May her gentle soul R.I.P," while a third person posted: "Rest in Peace gorgeous." Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses following the collision.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Any persons who were in the Ballygaddy Road area between 5:50pm and 6:15pm and who may have witnessed the incident should contact investigating Gardaí.
"Any road users who were travelling in this vicinity at the time, and who may have camera footage including dash cam, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Meta says working to thwart WhatsApp scammers
Meta has said it shut nearly seven million WhatsApp accounts linked to scammers in the first half of this year and is ramping up safeguards against such schemes. "Our team identified the accounts and disabled them before the criminal organisations that created them could use them," WhatsApp external affairs director Clair Deevy said. Often run by organised gangs, the scams range from bogus cryptocurrency investments to get-rich-quick pyramid schemes, WhatsApp executives said in a briefing. "There is always a catch and it should be a red flag for everyone: you have to pay upfront to get promised returns or earnings," Meta-owned WhatsApp said in a blog post. WhatsApp detected and banned more than 6.8 million accounts linked to scam centres, most of them in Southeast Asia, according to Meta. WhatsApp and Meta worked with OpenAI to disrupt a scam traced to Cambodia that used ChatGPT to generate text messages containing a link to a WhatsApp chat to hook victims, according to the tech firms. Meta began prompting WhatsApp users to be wary when added to unfamiliar chat groups by people they do not know. New "safety overviews" provide information about the group and tips on spotting scams, along with the option of making a quick exit. "We've all been there: someone you don't know attempting to message you, or add you to a group chat, promising low-risk investment opportunities or easy money, or saying you have an unpaid bill that's overdue," Meta said in a blog post. "The reality is, these are often scammers trying to prey on people's kindness, trust and willingness to help - or, their fears that they could be in trouble if they don't send money fast."

Garda car 'deliberately' hit by Northern registered Audi in 'serious incident'
An investigation is underway after a motorist 'deliberately' drove into a Garda car in Louth, causing damage to the vehicle. At around 8:30pm on Saturday, August 3, members of the Louth Roads Policing unit were on patrol as part of the Garda Bank Holiday weekend road safety operation when they were involved in a serious incident. Gardaí have been conducting a dedicated road traffic enforcement operation throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend which commenced at 7am on Thursday, July 31 and will continue until 7am Wednesday, August 6. While patrolling the Ravendale area, north of Dundalk, Gardaí observed a grey Northern Ireland registered Audi A4 acting suspiciously. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver deliberately drove into and caused damage to the Roads Policing patrol car showing a reckless disregard for Garda safety. Gardaí say they are 'working closely' with colleagues in the PSNI to identify those responsible as they appeal for witnesses. Tributes paid to 'pure gentleman' found dead in Tipperary home
Tributes have been paid to a man who was found dead in his home in Co Tipperary. The body of Ian Walsh, 49, was discovered at his home on Creggs Road in Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary at around 3.30am on Monday (August 4). Gardaí are treating his death as suspicious and believe he may have died a few days prior. While a post-mortem examination will determine the course of Gardaí's investigation into Mr Walsh's death, tributes have begun pouring in for him following his death, with him being remembered by his colleagues at Irish Rail and railway enthusiasts as someone who 'went far beyond the extra mile.'
